I just discovered that my son has been playing around with my SGN-7000 and the pattern lockscreen has locked me out completely. I have tried all i can but i keeo getting the message" Too Many Pattern attemos!" i have treid using my gmail account to bypass, but still does not work. can any one help out with this.
thank you

theres an app out there than can do it, But for the life of me i cannot think what its called, Untill someone else sheds some light on this there always this method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800799
It requires adb and that usb debugging is enabled on the phone ?
a factory reset will also remove pattern lock, But lets not go down that route just yet. Ill keep scanning for the app and let you know :good:
EDIT: The app (ironically) is called Screen Lock Bypass https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.thomascannon.screenlockbypass.fix

I guess there is an other option of unlocking with your backup pin

yes this app do work as you need to login to playstore and install the app from there.. the paid app works..
or if was rooted, then can do a nandroid backup and then do a factory reset and restore using Titanium backup

You can use samsung dive to unlock your phone

i want to ask if anyone know an app from the play store that can help me or how to repear this bug..
thx
55 views and not even 1 replay.. pls anyone?
That functionality might have been ripped off from the rom you are using.
You could try widget locker from the play store. I don't know if it has any password options tho, never used it.
Also, try searching "lockscreen" in the market.

Hidden Menus!

Went through shortcuts for Apex launcher actions and found a Programming menu, Debug menu, and something called CQATest.
I created the shortcuts, but has anyone figured out the dialer codes to access these yet?

Boot into the BP Tools mode, via the bootloader and youll get the same thing as an app in the drawer, CQA Test

On 442 CQATest works from BP (factory too) boot up. But debug & programming are missing.
I can find no access to the old ##program from dialer. Only *#*#info#*#* works.
I would be very careful with what your messing around with in these settings I lost my efs luckily I had a backup to flash...you've been warned.lol

Do you mean the cqatest? Because that is all that works on 442.
It was on 4.4 the programming menu

The only time I've ever messed with these menus is when I've had to trouble shoot things. Otherwise I just leave those menus be. Its too easy to really screw something up.
I only wanted to disable my proximity sensor!
Well maybe something else.
Btw
There is a FDR but not sure how it read exactly. No confirmation, boom I was stearing at the Google login!!
BTW can someone point out the key differences from factory & bp tools boot up?

You need to activate manage my device via the play store on your computer. You can locate, lock and wipe you phone. You can also have it ring if it's just lost in your house.
An even better service is Cerberus. You can set it up to take pictures from the FFC and hide it from the app drawer. It works even better when you are rooted though because you can build it into the ROM so whoever stole your phone can't uninstall it.
I know there is an option to erase screen/data remotely. Not sure about finding your phone, though. The wipe data is in settings >location and security >device administrator.

Temporary lock on smartlock doesn't work.

Hi XDA, I'm new to this, and I finally decided to use XDA since I've found lots of use out of it. In search for a good android support community I think I found one. I have a nexus 6 with smart lock enabled. Usually you can push the little lock icon on the lock screen to lock your phone with the pin even if you are at a trusted location or connected to a trusted device etc. I used to use this a lot, but it just stopped working one day. Unfortunately I don't know when or what could have caused it. I am not aware of any setting that toggles it and I don't get any error, just no response when I click it. Although I don't think its the cause, I am rooted, I have twrp, tasker, and titanium backup with nothing important frozen. I would really appreciate the help and would like to avoid wiping my phone to fix this. If that's what I need to do then so be it, its really annoying though!
Thanks,
Buggy687

Are you using a smart watch for smartlock? do you have tasker disabling bluetooth?
Thank you for your reply. No i do not have a smart watch (anymore) and I disabled tasker and restarted to see if it had caused any issues.

Data Recovery

I have a ATT S5 that a close friend's mom gave me and asked if there was any way that I could get the photos off it. The friend has passed away and after numerous attempts to recovery the google account and trying to figure out the password, they still can't get into the phone. The phone currently is a stock ATT s5 with fingerprint enabled. I am just looking to see if there are any options. It looks like custom recovery flashes with odin aren't an option with ATT version so I am not sure where to turn. Any help would be greatly appreciated in pointing me in a direction.
Not entirely sure about flashing, but if it is stock rom then googles ring/lock/locate may work on it.
Just have to know the email and password for the Gmail account tied to the device.
Then got to Google.com/android/devicemanager
Hit lock, change the password, and you are good
Also from google.com/accounts/contact/deceased?hl=en
Just incase

Yeah that's the core of the problem. The family doesn't have access to the google account yet since it takes a good amount of paper work to take over a passed away's persons account. If I had those credentials, I wouldn't have to try to crack into this device. Thanks for the information however.
Did you take the phone into the store to see if they have a way to get in?

Yeah the store won't help.
So I have been doing some more reading and have a thought. The recovery mode says this phone is KOT49H.G900AUCU2AND3. Is it possible to odin flash back down the stock firmware 4.4 using the single AP file so that it wouldn't wipe data. Would android boot up as a new install (with no security) but would still have emulated SD card in tacked?
