Yes. Defintely not many HK fans. So i will update this always...
I live in europe but my sister studies in Hong Kong. I hope that the Nexus 4 gets released in Hong Kong soon and for a good price so that she can buy one for me. Please keep this thread updated with price and where to buy when it's released. Thank you!
After a very unproductive Tue, I still couldn't get the Nexus 4 due to all those server errors.
Was gonna have the new phone for trip to Macau right after Thanksgiving.
Hopefully, LG HK will not jack up the price or I will have to buy it from here and somehow send it back to Asia.
But there are lots of new phones we can choose from if the Nexus 4 goes into the 5000 HKD price range (One X+, DLX, Note 2, S III LTE, Optimus G... ).
Please keep us posted about the pricing and where to buy when it comes available.
If it releases via Google Play, then the price might not much different...
but if from LG store...
then... you knew the answer...
I asked a one2free staff if he knew it was coming, he said yes should be. But I also email customer inquiry last week a d they replied me no details yet . Hope they do not jack up the price ((
I am guessimg that maybe they will increase price by $500-800 in HK

For official version, I just concern who will handle the firmware update in the future ? LG or Google
ironically if you buy from Google play here in Australia its processed in singapore (which cant buy on play), and then shipped from hong kong.
its kinda funny; its disappointing to see this phone priced so highly outside of google play i guess google must have some strange agreement with LG

Nexus are always handled by Google, and we don't have stupid carriers in HK like Verizon so don't worry

just look at how Galaxy Nexus from Samsung getting the 4.2 update so fast
galaxy nexus is 2.9k here.. nexus 7 16gb is 2.3k here.. at wilsons store.. i think if nexus 4 comes out it will be 3k for 8gb and then 3.2k for 16gb
LG would be stupid if they price the Nexus 4 at above HKD4000.
We can easily ship it from US using various online services:laugh:
Just wait it will arrive....
Dear All,
If the price is under $4000, people will notice and snap them up really fast. If we have family over in the states, canada, australia, it would be great to ship it over. im heading to canada in feb which by that time the 32gb would be out if they plan to release a 32gb. i didn't wait for the N7 and purchased mine in Cananda online at best buy canada. we just have to wait and see come Dec. keep waiting....:fingers-crossed:

Well in Hong Kong ..people buy the most expensive phone.. like s3 and iphone5
they wont buy anything under 3k as they think theyre slow
Aiyoh I wish there was some news about Singapore release! Sold my GNex hoping this would be available soon.. Now stuck with my backup phone HTC Hero, and damn this phone is slow!
LG and Google should make a firm agreement on this issue earlier...
but i guess if no nexus 4 den optimus g will arrive
Any new update from hk? Will be going in the next couple days and maybe if it's there already we can probably pick one up
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I'm going to be in HK on the 6/12 for a week. I'm interested in picking up this phone over the S3.
Kogan.com.au are selling the S3 for $500 AU unlocked. Hope this will be available by then, otherwise might just grab the S3...

For anyone who cares the Nexus 5 is officially out in Hong Kong. Its being sold by LG, rather than Google. Price is around HK$3,800 - 3,900 depending on where you buy it. Big name retailers such as Broadway are selling it. Only the 16GB model is presently available.

Why is it HK always gets the low storage. First note 3, now this! Infuriating!!
Nice! I'm in Hong Kong right now, considering this (my Google Play order wont ship until November 8). Do you know if the International version will work on US networks and LTE bands, specifically T-Mobile?

no. LTE wont work in North Americia. But 3G will work of course.
Damn. I had a feeling LTE wouldn't but was holding out hope. Oh well, guess I'll have to play the patience game some more..
Hond Kong LTE use band 3, and the US version of Nexus does not support that.
But does anyone know on the UMTS 2100, is HSPA supported by the NEXUS 5?
wonder when nexus 5 32 gb will release in hong kong.. right now for that price its still a steal!
heard from wilson guy that around nov 20 there will be google play order available in hk, with price around HKD3200..
dont yell at me how ridiculous this may be.. im just repeating their words..
is this really possible (that google play order is coming to hk)?

HK Google Play store would be a very welcome development.
I think I am probably going to wait it out for around a month or two and hopefully the N5 price is drop a bit or at least a 32GB model will make its way to HK, otherwise seems the Oz store has the best value at the moment.
Fortress
Dear All,
I was at Fortress MK (MK New Century Mall) and they are selling it for $3,880.00. The guy says ONLY 16GB and I asked about 32GB and he said no. I don't believe him since he had to check 5 minutes to give me a price on the N5. Late Nov. HK PlayStore have it? I highly doubt it. I'm waiting till close to Christmas to buy it as the price will go down and retailers will have discounts.
if u go to "smaller" shops in mongkok/wanchai etc. the price is now in the range of 3700+..
Make sure..

Yes, parallel import will be cheaper in price but watch for what you get. Remember, US version (D820) won't work in HK for LTE. We have (D821) which is international version to work for Asia. I would stay with Fortress, Broadway etc. to be safe.

As long as the smaller shop confirms its HK stock and you can get local warranty through LG I don't see an issue buying through them.
Remember the D821 is also being sold in Australia where the price is actually quite comparable to the North American prices. But you won't get local LG warranty if you get that.
Was at Broadway Shatin on Friday, asked if 32gb was available, sales said usually Hong Kong only get one version.
Agreed that it is expensive to buy from them, if really available through Play Store at end of November then Ill be one of the first to buy from there!
Was just in WCC.
Asked two shops for price, one said HK$4.2k the other said HK$3.9k!!!!! Local stock.
Wasn't going to buy and was in a bit of a hurry so didn't ask around too many places or try and negotiate for price.

Hey guys, didn't wanna hijack the similar thread re: AT&T but wondering if anyone has any firsthand experience on either the Dual Sim Snapdragon version with 256GB or the Single Sim Emperor Edition with 256GB. I would put model numbers here but I'm kinda confused from the eBay listings I'm seeing that say it could be one of several (in some cases at random! LOL.)
Anyway, just wondering if anyone had positive experiences. Can't quite bring myself to go from an S8+ to a 64GB Note 8, even with the Note 7 upgrade deal, but I MIGHT consider the 256GB one. Still, wondering if I should hold off and wait for the V30 and/or Pixel 2 at this point. First world problems, I know. What can I say, I'm a chronic early adopter!

might as well. I made patches for the European N950F and now Korean N950N models to have T-Mobile Wifi Calling and VoLTE.
I second the seller Kalm_Traveler linked to (I used same seller. Shipping was less than 24H from Korea>Alaska>Tennessee>Missouri and estimated shipping date was a week later, lol)
As someone stuck on AT&T for work requirements (Land Surveyor) I say avoid AT&T, they're asshats about provising their features to non-AT&T devices.
My HTC One (M8) from their main store here in town went from being a boss to a hoss and has never recovered (issue is on their end, they can't "fix" it because nothing is "wrong", and wouldn't ever pass me over to techs who would actually know something...)

Yes, but my patch isn't 100% working yet for wifi calling, when I add it on a fresh stock re-flash it will work until I reboot or open the 'More Settings' menu in the dialer settings... after that the component that switches calls between cell network and wifi breaks but I haven't figured out why (or how to stop it from breaking).
Hi
Visiting las vegas in a few weeks and considering buying a Note 8. I can order off Amazon.com (I have a US account) and thinking of getting shipped to a locker. Will be $798 for unlocked international version. 64gb version in black.
Or is there a cheaper alternate? I know if I buy instore I have to pay the local tax, but dont think I do if I order via Amazon as just checked before pressing the complete button and its Nil tax.
Any advice appreciated.
where are you travelling from?
US version is snapdragon and if you want root the exynos is the better option
I think it is wiser to get a device in your home country, in case of needing to claim warranty, it would be infinitely easier for you, besides, in USA only the little 64 gb snapdragon version is available, if you are interested about avoiding taxes, be aware that those taxes you would pay in your country at an official distribuitor will give peace of mind and warranty
Version listed is SM-N950F/DS* which is the one in Europe on Amazon in USA which is not Snapdragon I gather.

6GB RAM/64GB storage version on sale on Monday 18th June. If you want 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage then the release date is Wednesday 4th July.
The price and Al build with Snapdragon 845 and 6.2 inch screen and stereo speakers is a major major major go for me. MicroSD slot is the icing in the cake. I can just fit a glass screen protector on this baby and it should be good to go. Also Asus will be doing a 50 pounds/euro promotional rebate for all pre-orders and all sales on their website up til 15th July.

Anyone heard when it may be available in the US? It can be bought on ebay now from sellers in Taiwan and China but I'd rather wait until it's released in the US so hopefully it'll be the variant with more US LTE bands (assuming it's actually getting officially released in the US).

A little more than a month before Vodafone's planned 5G rollout in the UK, EE will be launching its 5G service across six cities in the country. The British wireless carrier announced today that it is switching on its 5G network in several areas including London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Belfast on May 30 with speeds of around 100Mbps to 150Mbps.
Noticeably, most of these cities are the same target locations for Vodafone's 5G network rollout scheduled for July 3. In addition to its upcoming 5G availability, EE also revealed a range of new 4G and 5G plans with Swappable Benefits starting from :
10GB for £54 a month up to 120GB for £74 a month.
The 5G plans include access to the network's BT Sport HD HDR and Gamer’s Data Pass with zero-rated data.
Also, pre-orders open today for EE's 5G smartphone offerings and customers can choose from a variety of devices including the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, LG V50 ThinQ, and OPPO's Reno 5G edition which launched on Swisscom earlier this month. EE also plans to release its new 5GEE WiFi and 5GEE home broadband offerings in the future, though pricing and availability details remain unclear for now.
In addition, EE struck new partnerships to bring 5G experience to consumers including a collaboration with Google to help developers and the Google for Startups Campus in London build new apps that make use of 5G connectivity. It has also teamed up with Niantic as the sole telecom partner in the UK for the launch of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, an upcoming augmented reality mobile game.
Later this year, EE's 5G service will be available in more areas including Bristol, Coventry, Glasgow, Hull, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Nottingham, and Sheffield. Next year, the firm also plans to release 5G in Aberdeen, Cambridge, Derby, Gloucester, Peterborough, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Southampton, Worcester, and Wolverhampton.

Presumably a rollout of 3rd July means a release for the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G with a similar date.
What does everyone think to those prices?
What about the speed? 100Mbps to 150Mbps, Megabits per second so divide that by 8 for MBps to make 12.5MBps to 18.75MBps. Not exactly stellar.
OnePlus 7 Pro 5G pre-order page is up also : https://shop.ee.co.uk/mobile-phones/pay-monthly/oneplus-7-pro-5g-256gb-nebula-blue/details

Packages start from £59 per month for only 10GB although the option above is shown as the "default"
It's a bit pricey, those speeds can't be right though. I can get 270Mb on 4G already lol.
Thought it'd be like 800Mb
Far too expensive, for what we would get.. thy should bloody improve 4G coverage fist before bangin on 5g xd
Who cares about 5G. With a solid 4G network you can do EVERYTHING. Hell, even with a solid 3G/HSDPA+ connection you should not struggle to have long reload times.
I pre order it yesterday for 54 a month 30gb data and 30 upfront payment for phone. I get multi line discount so that's why it's bit cheaper. But warning EE will SIM lock them

Did you get this deal by calling them up? That's a lot better value than any listed on their website. If I could get this same deal I will definitely order it but £69 a month is too much for me.
I find it hard to believe that they will be sim locked, but my work sim is also on EE so it wouldn't matter for me if it was. I assume we will still be able to unlock bootloader though??
EDIT: Sorry just seen the multi-line part!

Found the answer for the above. 7 Pro should be limited to 8gb ram just like the s10 5g. That and this. Not sure I care for this first gen 5g modem

Do you really need 12GB RAM? lol

Good thing I dont play games on my phone. 4GB was getting to me but was not a huge problem so 8 will be plenty for my personal use.
