Do you guys think a modified framework-res could cause a bettery drain?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
I doubt it, It depends on what you mean by modified ? If it is simple icon / colour changes then no, If it is something that increases the amount of power needed (like modifying auto brightness values or whatever is hidden inside the framework) then yes.
The best way for identifying battery drain is better battery stats, It gives you in-depth info of wakelocks, times, amount of power used, name of app etc etc. Its a really useful app !
Ot wasnt anything major. Just the lock scrren text 'swipe to unlock'

yeah and check loggs for errors, if the modification is not big free and triggering a recurring error it could cause drain.
also a modified framework, could have malware, who knows

Either you are drunk or your keyboard has been cheating on you
+1 on the lighter ROM OR
At OP: there is an app called system tuner, where you could decide which applications should start, using that you could have a restricted start up and "might" be able to reduce memory usage.

It's hidden inside "Power management" (or similar, don't know how it's called).

Thx guys. Found it. Didn't realize it would be there as the options for power saving are not as appealing as Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 (no lowering cpu speed).
Do you happen to know any effective way to save O4X battery without compromising much of the performance? LG Gearbox and CPU Master by antutu don't seem to have any positive effects. ROM Toolbox Pro seems like another joke in this situation too.

That seems to be a good solution.. but with only 530 mAh extra battery, I dont think it'll make much difference. I just don't understand why o4x battery drains so fast..
Also, I noticed some people saying they have better battery life after updating firmware to v10H. Mine is v10e, and I believe v10h is newer and may give better battery life, but does it actually affect?

It actually does quite well I have that battery and it gives me around 18 hours where I got with the normal one around 11 12 hours if even. So there is a difference or buy one with a bigger back what I also have. I am on v10f.

Hey guys, I got a weird problem since a few hours... I installed some certificates, because my university exchange server needed them and CM10.1(Makay ROM) wanted me to set either PIN or pattern lockscreen, to be able to install those certificates. Now i cant change it back, to slide lock... Anyone who had something similar or someone else, who can tell me, how i can resolve this? Thanks in advance

Cm 10.1 face battery suck and gaming is no fun.
Here's the fix.
ANDROID 4.2.2 ONLY
1.if ur battery is getting pulled every half an hour just go to Google play and calibrate via any battery calibration app.
2.reflash ROM
3.one main problem that might be solved don't flash from 4.1 to 4.2 that's why it sometimes suck.
4.jump from cm7 to 4.2 that's why it is cool

i've been testing both
cm7.2: 12-14 hours
cm9.2: 10-16 hours
deepsleep included. every time i flash, i delete battery stats, but each rom doesn't lasts more than 3 days on my phone before i flash the other cm, i do wrong? should i wait more time testing? gb or ics for battery life? what do you think?
i get only 10 mins in kk and jb 4.2

Hello! Yes I have repaired the phone via PCC twice!!
Still same.
Reasons for being on 4.1.2 is no bugs and my power button does not work.
I have no updates via PCC or OTA yet for UK network 3

Give the phone to sony and let them repair your power button. Then flash a stock 4.3 ftf and report back

I'm sorry, I couldn't see the screenshots before. You'll need a better BBS log, it would be much more reliable if you would post a log from overnight. Those one hour logs can't always give a clear enough picture. Make sure you don't use your phone, so we have a completely idle log.
Check the BBS thread for AlarmManager, that should already give you quote some pointers to work with.

The whole point of doing a thread here is so i don't have to send phone to sony to repair
Even i know i could have the phone repaired! Don't wanna spend money on repair
Phone works fine just the battery issue as mentioned above
Don't want 4.3 due to all the bugs mentioned here

Well, without a better log, we can't help you. 'Android System' contains just too much functions. It shouldn't be a problem to just get an idle log off 4hrs or more, to help solve your problem, right?

In the above quoted thread someone said the majority of the alarm manager wakelooks being Google Talk and Facebook. I concur and think these are among the first things to kick from the phone. Do you also have NFC on? Widgets on your screen?
Actually it sounds as if you did already a lot. I am not sure if I would further bother with this ROM,whatever it is.

Some disabled apps still "work" in the background. NFC for example. Or GTalk.
Investigation of these sort of wake-locks can be tedious. Unless you see it as an interesting task Did you consider simply re flashing it?
