[Q] Nexus 7 from shop - Nexus 7 General

I want to buy a nexus 7 , i think its realy cheap but you guyz know better what is the price of this tablet. I seen it for 220 euro's in shop, it think its cheap what are you saying guyz?

If you're asking if the Nexus 7 is good value for money, then the answer is yes. They are selling the thing at cost price. Its almost half the price of an equivalent iPad, yet more powerful.
I dont know if the 200 euro Nexus you saw in a shop is good value as I have no idea what one you are looking at. Compare it to the Google Play store prices.

Most of the people buying them live in places where the Nexus is not sold through Google, explaining the increase in price (Shipping and such)
then why dont you buy it at google.com and sell it at higher prices on ebay? haha
If you live in a country where buying a Nexus One would be expensive/impossible, and eBay purchase would make sense. Otherwise, defnitely just buy from Google directly. They even give free overnight shipping in the US.

First Nexus 7 on E-Bay - $600

Looks like someone made quick work and already posted a Nexus 7 from Google IO on E-Bay. $600 for those who can't wait!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nexus-7-Tab...-2012-Android-4-1-FAST-SHIPPING-/150846459594
they can keep it, there is no way i will pay triple for that tablet
Someone else also posted for $1500. Another individual is selling his pre-order copy for $400. The ways people think of making a quick buck...smh
some people are just desperate to make some quick buck. I would keep it if i were them.
Capitalism at work. Don't hate the seller, pity the buyer.
I just found one on CL for 999, LOL.

Why? With the money they earn they could buy a new Nexus 7 with plenty left over!
$400 seems reasonable. After taxes and whatnot my 16gb is 300ish. Throw in shipping+insurance and a little money for their trouble and that's not so bad for someone in a country that can't buy these. If you're somewhere you can buy them I don't really see the point of buying from ebay/CL/etc
cheap in USA?
the current exchange rates is USD-1:AUD-1
It is $250 in oz and only $200 in the USA!

That is insane isn't it? If only it were $200 as well...

Nexus 7 from handtec.co.uk

I just wanted to post about handtec trying to rip off people looking to buy a nexus 7 from them.
I know most people in the UK would just buy from else where but handtec are one of the few sellers who ship internationally.
I have just moved to hong kong and previously bought a HTC one x from them without VAT which was quite a good deal, and I thought I would try get the nexus 7 from them as well as their service previously was pretty good.
However they list the price of the 16gb version at £238.80 (£199 + VAT) I then talked to them via online chat to verify if this was just a typo as it should be £199 including VAT and hence about £165 without vat. I was told by their rep that this was the best price available, I told them no, the RRP is £199 including VAT and that is what all the other retailers are selling them for, the rep replied that yes that is correct, so I asked them why they are selling for more than the RRP to which I just got ignored, so i asked if they are going to sell at this higher price and again got no response, I waited another 10 mins on the chat window and then when i had no reply i closed it.
this happened a week ago and I see they still have not updated the price. I think that this is their way to get some more money from international buyers who can't nexus 7 elsewhere as its not released and I'm pretty disappointed that they would try to do this and not sell at the RRP.
Supply and demand...
Retailers have the right to sell products at whatever price they choose.
Consumers have the right to choose who they buy from.
If you don't like the price, buy from someone else. They might not have the best price/deal, but it is a bit of a stretch to call them a ripoff.
A ripoff is more like when they give you something other than what they said they were going to give you.

Have you tried their price match?
Clove sells it for even worse price - £220 for 16GB excluding VAT.

Disappointed with pricing outside google play

You may or may not have heard about this but if you live in a country where purchasing devices from google play isn't available(which is like 98% of the countries),you will have to pay a whopping 549 euros for the 16gb nexus 4(that's the pricing in Austria, dunno about the rest of the world but it will most likely be the same).I will actually have to pay more than double the original price of a phone that got 16gb non expandable storage. And if I bought it online,I will have to sacrifice local warranty. It just looks like google is doing their best to force me not to get their nexus devices. There's just a big hype about how cheap the nexus 4 is with cutting-edge hardware ignoring the fact that only people living in certain countries can get it for that price. Why can't google be fair ? Guess I might end up getting Gnote 2,at least it got a micro SD slot.
Wow. This sucks. Nice find! For that price, I'd definitely go for a Note II!
(My cousin is in the states so he'll order it for me and send it here to India through my uncle's shipping company - Win win for me!)
+1 Thats annyoing @OP

i am personally ready to be robbed by those retail stores. it sucks but then the price tag wasn't the deciding factor.
Maybe see if someone from another country can buy it from the play store and have them mail it to you? Providing the shipping cost is realistic?
I'll get one from Germany too.
If anyone wants to order for me send me a PM.
I am screwed, since I live in the Netherlands. No Playstore here. Hopefully the online shops will sell against Playstore prices, or less Sucks I can't order from European Playstores btw, so much for European 'shop integration'.
Yep, I can't but devices from the play store here either.... :/ just hope its at a reasonable price or else I'll have to ask someone to buy for me... its not there on expansys yet either

I think we should wait official pricing for other countries. However, if in Italy the prices will be so high, I'll buy it online from another European country.

Well, it's worth a trip to Germany.
But I have doubts this will really happen. That would be pretty stupid of Google. Look at the price if the nexus tablet. That's also pretty cheap for what it has to offer.

I completely agree, I live in Chile and the carriers here are just thieves, the galaxy nexus retails here for around 750 USD contract free.
Gladly my brother is going to USA on december and he might get one N4 for me there at a normal price.
Does anyone knows if you can buy a nexus product online? Becouse whenever I try to go to the website says its restricted to my country, I dont know if its possible to shop online outside the US. I wouldnt care not having warranty if I pay 300 box.

I think that Google is selling the product below the MSRP because they expect people to post some of those saved euros into producst on the store.
It's 549€ here as well, and also in Sweden as far as i know.
Thank goodness my girlfriend lives in Germany.
It would be awesome if some XDA peeps located in Europe and have access to Playstores could help out their fellow European members
here in Israel i will be thank's full if it will Retail for 600$.
I'm sure it'll come in time. Do you have the N7 yet?

Nope, not yet but well LG said that the nexus 4 will be available in the middle east end of november so I assume Egypt is included.Nexus devices do take a long time to be available here. The galaxy nexus for example took freakin 6 months and it was exclusive to vodafone.Asus Egypt said that the nexus 7 should be available in mid october but so far nothing...

Nexus 7 Ripoff (In India)

What was Google thinking? Why is the Nexus 7 16GB here in India for USD $365??
The same unit is USD $225 in the USA.
I was very disappointed with Google.

It's not Google. Its Asus that is selling the device in India. And for some reason they think they can charge whatever they want in India and get away with it. Shame. They could have made this the best selling Tablet here and did well for them selves.
Could it be because of tariffs? How much is the ipad in India?

$170 in Taxes and duty?????
If that was the case then no one would be doing business in India
iPAD2 WiFi 16 GB BLK - Rs 24,500 (India price) Thats $462
In the US iPAD2 WiFi 16 GB BLK is $399 Rs.21,147
3,500 in mark up (including dutys and taxes is OK
It has nothing to do with taxes. even if that was the case they would still benefit from bulk import prices and get a better deal on duty.
This is just them taking advantage of the situation.

I understand our condition.
I am also very much disappointed.
Its too much.do not why asus wants to disrupt its sales in India.
I was going to buy 8gb model.
But its too overpriced.
Best option is too import from other countries.
And please do not make these kind of threads already there are hell lot of them.
It's the same here in Istanbul, and it's because of taxes more than anything. We get raped in prices for just about everything - a 750ml bottle of Jack Daniels will run you around $60 here. Also, I've seen the Nexus 7 (8Gb) sell for around $400.
Don't even get me started on the Apple stuff. Because there is no official Apple Store here, they sell for three times the price. Thankfully I don't use those horrid devices, but people who do are screwed.
