Flickering screen

i now have the touch hd for 3 weeks and i noticed a slight flickering in the touch flow interface. there is a grey area on the top of the screen (where it says mail and wheather etc) and when you look at it i see a slight flickering (only when you look closer (20-30 cm or closer). i tried turning of the auto adjust for the screen light but this doesn't work. also in a store i looked at another touch HD and noticed the same.
the strange thing is dat when i look at a full screen photo or just about any other aplication, then i don't see the flickering. so is this a defect or a software issue or something else??
anyone with the same experience and knows a solution. HTC won't respond to my e-mails
Screen Flicker
Hi,
Not sure if this is the correct section of the forum but seeing as someone has already started a thread regarding this. I have the same screen flickering issue! It's bugging me!!
i just did some research of my own, held 4 touch HD phones in my hands today, all with the exact same problem. so it is not a single defective phone if it is a defect, it might be a production error or a software problem.
(i know this problem doesn't belong here, i am new here and accidentally placed this topic here. sorry. don't know how to place it in the right place. maybe a forum moderator??)
just made a call with HTC Netherlands. the person on the phone also had an touch HD and spotted the same problem. he told me this was a new problem and he could only send it to HTC hoping that more people will report on the same problem and that they will start working on it.
he thought it had to do with the refress rate of the screen. i don't whink it is, as it only has this problem with certain teints of grey. (like in the touch flow interface)
Could you guys move your posts to an existing thread instead?

Half-responding screen

Left part of my screen doesn't respond to clicks! (Screenshot, issue area is on red)
Issue persists between roms (Tried GDX and stock).
A few minutes ago I realized that left side of my screen has some bright, so I compared right side (Photo) with left side (Photo).
No, that white bright is not wallpaper reflection. It's white on color wallpapers too and even on completely black wallpapers.
Any idea?
First thing that comes to my head - did you drop anything on it?
Secondly how long has this issue persisted?

1.- if you mean hit: all hits it had (almost none) were from about 15cm high.. nothing to worry about....
if you mean liquid: no
2.- about a year, because I thought it was a rom issue and I never used any other....
it has 1 year and 6or7 months
thanks for replying! i thought nobody was going to haha!
It's definitely a faulty screen or digitizer. If the issue persists across all ROMs and kernels (you don't have to check each one of them), then you should get your screen or digitizer (can't really put my finger on which is causing this) replaced.
F***.. So, there is no doubt its a hardware issue? Then i'll have to live with it -.-

[Q] people complain they cant hear me

Hi i'm using a rooted htc one and people often complain they cant hear me during calls. I was wondering if there was anyway I could enhance the microphone so that my voice is louder. I'm using android 4.1.2 and sense 5. The case i'm using has a hole on the back in the top right corner and on the bottom to the left of the usb adapter jack where I think the microphone(s) are. I looked at other threads but I was having this problem before I rooted my htc one and was hoping that now it has been rooted there was some sort of hiden control I can use to turn up the michrophone setting. Thanks
bump
If it wasn't working right before you rooted it, then it means it is a hardware problem. I don't think this is necessarily a sensitivity issue. I think it has to do with the noise canceling.
Talk to HTC or whatever carrier you have.
Also, make sure to hide all signs of root!
Hej layzz, there is a thread with a similar problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2380867
Just as I mentioned there, it could be the hole at the underside of your case being just way to small, or (as I realized just recently) a very special hardware problem (so to say). During calls I had always covered the mic with my little finger, no wonder no one understood me.
Give it a shot

The mic hole at the bottom of the device is clearly visible. Would you mind posting a link to that rom please?

This ROM is based on 4.2.2 on 2.24 all my problems are pretty much fixed
I have this very same problem on my brand new stock device. I created a thread for the same problem. I found that the earpiece quality was brilliant but again people could not hear me or said I was very quite. I experimented with case on and case of and calls to different phones and 9/10 times the problem was there. I then decided to install android revolution hd to see if there was a problem with the stock rim for some reason. Sadly this didn't work. I then turned my attention to the lower microphone. Now I am not suggestion you do this by any means however in my case I felt I had nothing to lose as I was going to have to send the phone to HTC to get fixed if I could not sort it myself.
I got the small sim removal tool and stuck it into the mic hole in a bid to try and open the hole up abit as it seemed very small and I wondered also if it was blocked. I did this a little at a time and then tried calling people to see if there was any change. Instantly there was an improvement. However, now it seemed like 5\10 calls were low. So, I tried the same again.
I now have not had the problem in the last 15 or so calls I have made however what I have noticed is that now for what ever reason when I'm in calls the person on the other end sounds a little distorted through the earpiece. Don't know why this should be and maybe a completely unrelated problem or something linked to installing the other rom. Either way at least people can hear me now.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Thanks everyone. The problem seems to be fixed after installing that custom rom

[Q] Did anyone experience a very faint clicking sound form the phone with some apps?

I just got a nexus 6, and after installing a few apps I've noticed a faint clicking sound during phone calls.
At first I thought it's coming from the call, but later discovered it's coming from the upper half of the phone itself, and I can only hear it when putting my ear flush against the screen (can't hear anything from the back).
I (accidentally) discovered it's because I'm using a live wallpaper. No idea why, but when I changed the wallpaper the noise was gone. It can also be caused by a few other apps, though I wasn't able to find a common feature or attribute between those apps. The noise starts immediately after opening the app, and stops immediately after exiting.
If It's relevant, I'm on Chroma rom, LP 5.0.2 running franco kernel.
It doesn't actually bother me, but I'm still curious about this, as well as a bit worried the it might be an indicator for a wider issue, so I'd really like to hear your opinion.
If anyone would be willing to try the original "culprit", here it is (It's just a normal live wallpaper): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.schulermobile.puddledrops
Thanks

Hi, I think you might find some more info here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2962949
It seems that this is a somewhat common issue.
I actually found the issue you linked to in another place. At the time it didn't seem to be relevant (I thought noise isn't from the speaker), but on second thought, this is probably it.
Thanks.

No problem at all. I hope that a solution becomes available for this issue.

Colour screen issue - phosphorite colours

Hello. Issue is the screen all of a sudden turns into very phosphorite colours. I've searched for any similar issue here in xda and have not seen anyone else with this problem..
In another forum (Spanish only) various people have reported the same issue after my post there. And in most of the cases the issue seems to show up after watching a video/movie potentially related with Netflix and/or HDR.
Rebooting solves the issue. And another person reported that after leaving the phone locked for some time the colours were back to normal...
Have note 8 for less than a month and this has happened 2 times already.
I post here as audience will be wider.
Anyone with same issue or idea?
Thx a lot

I think we're waiting on pics. Phosphorite is a rock, so I'm not sure what phosphorite colour means.
sounds some settings in the screen mode were changed. when it happens again, dont reboot just go toggle a few different setting and see if it fixes it. also, having tinted colors(phosphorous?) seems as RGB got changed under the advanced settings in the display mode settings.
I do know some apps are be able to change brightness so mybe other can change color settings? some sort of a blue light filter or 'night' mode?( tint to a warmer shade?)

Is it only when you're charging? I have my screen saver set to colour, and I'd describe those as psychedelic. But I just have to touch the screen to make it stop.
Haha. Yes phosphorite is probably not the right word... the screen turns into fluorescent colours (like in a highlighter pen). Hope this clarifies... let's see if it happens again and I take some pictures.
Thanks for the responses so far
