Been using Fujitsu Stylistic slate pc's for years, so I grabbed one of the Wacom penabled pens with eraser and tried it out. It worked great, but the nib touches the screen about 3mm away from where the cursor shows.
Has anyone found a nice full-sized Penabled pen that works on the Gnote2 without offset?

I have the pen from the link above and it's the closest thing you'll be able to get that I've found. It works exactly like my wacom tablet pen, it's full sized, and the eraser works fine.
My only grip is that that you have to remove the s pen from the phone to use it.

Have you disabled the "battery saving" option under S-Pen settings. This should enable pen detection even when the S-Pen is still attached. Obviously can decrease battery life.
It is odd that pen works. Stopped by the best buy store today, and the pens from the Note 10.1 don't work at all.

I got the motion L series pen and am using the hard felt nibs for it.
To answer the original question there is a miniscule offset from the cursor about the size of the cursor itself. It seemed bigger at first but it appears to have shrunken th3 more I use it. I dont draw much on the gn2 but it hasnt had any trouble clicking the links and items on th3 screen I want it to.

I'd love to find a stylus to use with the sketchpad app. Works really well but hard to paint with my finger on this anyone know of there is one that works on the NC?
I see the targus one for iPad but I don't know if that works for this or not.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
The iPad is a capacitive screen meaning that it responds to objects that are electrically conductive as change in voltage that the screen can detect the location of. The Nook Color has the same type of screen, so any stylus or pen mod that works for an iPad should work for a Nook Color.
No guarantees of course since this is just off the top of my head but good luck and report back with your findings
I ordered a box wave stylus (as it has good reviews and was on sale for $10). I will report if it works well or not for the sketching app
I've had the boxwave for a few months for my ipad. I am not having much luck with it on the nook, but that could be due to having the anti-glare screen protector on.
Good luck!
I tried using my wife's Pogo stylus, but when trying to draw with it, its like the stylus will draw a dashed line in 1-2cm increments -- completely unusable. I ordered the Dagi P005 stylus in hope that its larger flat tip will provide usable results. I'll post up my impressions when it finally comes in.

Follow up
So the boxwave stylus (I don't have a screen protector) worked pretty well. No real complaints. It isn't as easy as sketching with a pencil but I am overall decently happy with it.
However, I traded with a coworker and gained a Griffin GC16040 Stylus because he doesn't like it for his iPad. That draws pretty nice with the Autodesk app. I can get smooth lines (no hopping) and don't have to press super hard to get a result. I would definitely say that is the winner of the two. He said he got it off buy.com for $13 new with shipping.
I am going to snag a second.
Excellent! I'm glad to know I have options. I was going to be pretty disappointed if I couldn't find one that worked.

Ive been really curious about this as well.
Im interested in the amount of pressure that must be applied at the width of the mark it makes.
Anyway you can do some line tests and upload?
I wonder what inside makes one stylus better than another, it would be like one finger being better than the other.
Just received my Dagi stylus.... works splendidly. They sent both the P005B and a free P101 stylus - both of which work well. No stuttering. No dashed lines. No other nonsense. The Dagi has a nice 12mm transparent tip so you can see exactly where you're writing. I love it.
Also, while I cannot comment on every Wacom stylus, I can say my wife's did not work with the Nook. (As expected). Do they even make a capacitive stylus?

Tim - Thanks for the feedback on the Dagi. Do you use a screen protector on your NC?
I can do pressure tests and get them uploaded this weekend. If I remember right from playing around it wasn't I just adjusted the pencil tips in the app. Which worked fine for me.
As for wacom no capacitive styluses.

I bought a targus ipad stylus which from what i can tell is the same as the griffin but does not draw consistently at all. Has anyone else tried one? Also in general the touch screen seems to not work very well at the edges of the screen, is this a common problem?

Got it on eBay from an Australian seller, but it seems to have come straight from Dagi. It showed up in about a week in spite of coming from Taiwan.
I've got a BoxWave and a Dagi on the way. I will be using them for class notes. I'll let you know how they work out for me.
I have been looking through all the posts from people with the rubber tip stylus no one has mentioned that active stylus work most say they wont...
However my old stylus from my Xyboard works just fine on my Nexus 7.
I only did a little digging around and am just chalking it up to luck that some type of active stylist works on the nexus. I remember reading up on my Xyboard that the stylus only functioned on that device since it didn't work on the 8.1 xyboard or any other touch screens.
I did try to use pressure setting inside of Photoshop with no luck, so pressure doesn't function. I also tried LectureNotes with different stylist only options. So I'm thinking its working just as my old Xyboard as a touch input only. Still happier with a hard tip stylus than a rubber tip one.
is this the stylus?

Does the active stylus work any better than a capacitive one? What are the benefits. Price is kinda steep, I had an Adonit Jot and didn't really like it. Anything wider than a standard pen or pencil feels too big and bulky for me. The elago stylus looks cool.

So what is the benefit of using this over as opposed to a regular one?
Ordered 1 anyway since it looks cool, hope it is worth it
The Xyboard stylus is just a battery operated capacitive stylus. It triggers touch events on capacitive screens with a hard small tip through the use of the battery. It isn't any more accurate than your finger or a non-battery (soft/broad tipped) stylus.
Before someone asks, no, a Wacom stylus does not work, including that included in the Galaxy Note.

Thanks for replying mate. Ive done a bit of a look around the internets and there seems to be mixed opinions about whether the wacom styles work or not. Given apparently the pen and the screen is made by Wacom I should be able to find one that does. What I would really like is a high end pen which fits in the phone.
I'm looking for a decent and large Spen too.
Here's another post on the Bamboo pen. I'm waiting for more info on whether it actually works well with the Note 2.

Im looking for an aftermarket one that has a real ink pen on the end. Has anyone seen one?
I think most active wacom styluses will work, I'm using one from my 2007 era tablet pc, the button works, the eraser end works and the pressure sensitivity works perfectly. No issues with alignment either.
I know this isn't an S-pen... it's a blobby capacitive pen emulating your finger: YesPen S1-plus
but this isht is sick as fcxzk. 1)Capacitive stylus - seems about the same (effectively) aside from the mushiness of it - you can still write great on the note; 2) real ink pen; 3)usb drive and sdhc card; 4)bluetooth earpiece; 5) bluetooth speakerphone; 6)integrated out of the box with samsung speak; 7) 3.5mm headphone(s) jack for a2dp stereo; 8) standard universal non-proprietary male usb (without the shield) built in for direct charging, usb memory, and sdhc access... 9) only $50 on ebay - less than half the price of the Samsung spen with bluetooth earpiece but soooo many more features.
CANNOT WAIT FOR THE YESPEN S2 if they ever make it - hopefully with spen too.
Anyone else try this yet or find an english language manual?
I've been using it for about a month and LOVE IT!

adonit and dagi
google them, first link. this form won't let me post links.
both has tips that fakes a fine point; a see through tip basically. other than that, a fine point is not possible on this type of display.
I've ordered one of these from Amazon (UK):
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001B1XLSK/ref=pe_217191_31005151_3p_dp_1
It's meant to have a finer tip, but will have to see when it arrives
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
I just saw the adonit version has also a pressure sensitive version if you are looking to take serious notes or draw. but a regular fine point will only help to see where you are writing, they're all the same.
Anything less than $20?

Any chance you can provide a picture of that stylus? Snap a crappy photo with a phone camera or, the Nexus 7 perhaps?
I have a Walgreens like 2 blocks away and I've yet to see anything like that at one, but there are several others here in Las Vegas I can check on, just need to know what I'm looking for, or a brand name, product/model number, etc. If you have the original receipt for it when you bought it, the Walgreens SKU code (product number) would help too.
Here are the three pictures. The blue one is the walgreens one. The black is a normal size stylus. The head half the size at least. It not fine point but small enough to help.
E4GT Rom-a-holic. Running anything that looks cool at the time
"This is the Droid I have been looking for!"
Adonit is the best I've seen. However these capacitive touch screens aren't going to give you fine control. That's the downside to the technology. The Adonits have smaller contacts but won't magically give you a pressure sensitive pen such as a Galaxy Note. It has additional screen tech layers that give it that ability.
Just don't want you to be dissatisfied or have too high of hopes.

I just ordered the Kuel H10. I'll let you know how it is once it arrives if you're interested. I had another one but that was pretty bad, so I'm hoping the Kuel is an improvement.
You won't get something fine tipped like a ball point with a capacitive screen. The screen needs a large area (Relative to a fine tipped stylus) the size of a finger tip close to the screen, and takes the center of the area interacting with the screen to find the tap point.
The way the Note, Note 2, etc get a fine tipped stylus is by using additional technology to the capacitive screen.
The closest thing you can get is a stylus that has a pad the correct area, and has a pivot at the pad to provide the approximate feel of a fine tipped stylus like so:
This is an adonit Jotpro.
They still have the drag of a larger stylus, but give a pretty good feel. Be prepared to spend a bit more; a jotpro is around $25.
The tips on those things are pretty fragile I hear. Have not tried them myself.
My Kuel H10 just arrived today, and so far I like it. Though it's absolutely tiny.. and I have small hands. For someone with big hands it would feel like a toothpick almost. The tip on it is pretty great though, so that's a plus.

I bought the BoxWave EverTouch about three weeks ago and I really like it. The main challenge with using any stylus on a tablet is not touching your palm to the screen, but after I've adjusted to it, I really enjoy using it. I primarily utilize it to take notes at school, but I've recently begun doing my calculus homework and exporting it as pdf in FreeNote. The microfiber tip has virtually no drag on the screen and while it's not as precise as the adonit jot pro, it's much more durable and I feel like it holds up quite well. Not bad for $10.
The biggest downside of using this stylus is the diameter of the tip is bigger than I want. After a bit of adjusting I can make mostly accurate marks but I'm still on the lookout for a stylus with this same capacitive microfiber tip with a smaller diameter.
Look for "Boxwave EverTouch" on amazon.

there are a few threads. Some are DIY projects because other find the pen too small or uncomfortable.
I think you don't see much is because many people don't use the Spen, or very often to warrant needing something else. Others haven't figured a way to keep the larger pen with the phone as conveniently. It's one nice thing about the Spen, it stores in the phone, so it's just there. Maybe when the phone starts getting close to the 7" size, the Spen will be more comfortable for you.
Personally, I just use the Spen and the phone's holder. I only use it occasionally, and it's usually as a mouse for certain web applications.
I purchased the s pen with the eraser which is much more comfortable for me but I use it for my note 10.1 as opposed to my note 2. It is inconvenient to carry around and I don't want to lose it given the price. I do use my note 2 for notes at work but I just deal with the built in s pen.

The manual has them; I think. I use the following:
1. With button pressed, do a "less than" "<" sign on the screen and it goes back
2. Do a "^" and you get menu details
3. Press button, tap and hold on screen and it gives you an an editable screen shot.
4. Do a circle (with button pressed) and it will cut out that section as a picture which you can paste anywhere.
