My mini task manager started acting weird yesterday and I tried using root explorer and reinstall the application, but to no avail. I finally had to do a factory rest to make things right. Back up ur data using titanium back up. Factory reset your device. Then reinstall titanium back up. Restore your files and voila...it should be good.

Thanks formthe sudgestion, bit this is very frustrating that i cant install the application, o am able to install asus weather but unable to install a samsung application. Bha..
I installed MX Video Player 1.6e and was going to upgrade it to the latest version of the software. So I uninstall MX Video Player and when I tried to install the latest version of MX Video Player, it say "Out of Space".
I did some reading up and there is a few post about deleting the odex file under Android/App/Data. However, there isn't any odex file in that folder. I even tried deleting the who Data folder and it does not solve the issue. Anyone has any idea where I can go to clean up the install file for MX Video Player?
Just where is the Android/App/Data folder ? I can't seem to find it.
Try deleting the app via Titanium Backup and also check if you are really out of storage space ?
The full path is mnt/sdcard/android/app/data.
The app has already been deleted so it is not showing up in Titanium Backup. I have double check the storage space and I got a good 1.1gb of space left.
So not really sure what to do from this point. I know that I can install the latest version of MX Video Player if I do a full wipe but I rather avoid doing this if I can.
Same problem here. Just can't install titanium backup and poweramp..

Don't do it! Stick to 1.6e as later versions have the DTS codec removed which sucks donkey balls.

You can also just remove the .odex file for the app you patched. It will be in /data/app/nameofapk.odex

Try the app "SD Maid"
It cleans up the system and leftover files. Kind of CCleaner for Android.

SD maid doesn't help. Cleaned up my entire phone and still couldn't install Poweramp and titanium backup.
Wiped my data and performed a clean install of PA last night, and managed to install and update TB but Poweramp still doesn't install.

this would be so awesome if it actually worked. I just tried on my TMO Note and no go. Could it be because I'm just rooted with 100% stock ROM?
Edit: Correction, gallery works fine, player does not. Not sure why. Any ideas?

You have to make sure you move the files and follow the directions on the thread. Then to test play a video with the default video player. There should be an icon on top right with a square within a square. Press that to get pop up player. It's NOT a widget. And must be on a touchwiz ROM. After u do the necessary steps be sure to reboot it should work

Ok I just tried this again, followed instructions to the T. I'm not exactly new to this, I've moved system apps before and whatnot. It is not working. I get black screen for a while followed by a " Unfortunately, Video Player has stopped." message.
As I said I pushed the new gallery and that works great. I am on 100% stock TW Tmo ROM, with root. Too bad, guys I'll just set Dice as my default player.

i guys, today i am using ICS 4.0.3(Claro BR) on my Note, the official firmware, rooted but never flashed any ROM(Don't wanna wipe) and this morning i was trying to install some modded SMS apps(I was really angry with automatic conversion to MMS on long texts). I used CWM and flashed an app without backing up the old one, the app doesn't work and i can't get the original back. Can someone please help me? (I am travelling and without acess to my computer at the moment)
I would be very grateful if someone with the stock ROM post their MMS.apk so i can try to i install it.

Unfortunately I don't have that saved...
You have a few options while on the road.
1. Download a third party MMS app from play store.
2. Reflash your ROM using mobile Odin
3. Download the 4.0.3 ROM. Extract the necessary file using root explorer. Place it in /system/app and set proper permissions.
Other things you can do too...but sounds like those would be easiest for you

I will get home next week and try to download the 4.0.3 firmware and extract with ES File Explorer, i only need to download the .zip(?) to my External SD and search for the apk on my Note, right?

Maybe you want to heed the following advice: Always make a Nand backup before you alter system apps/ files. If you have a Nand backup you can always restore your rom like it was before you did the modifications.

Yeah in es, you can locate the /system/app folder in the tar file.
Locate the appropriate file.
Copy it to your /system/app.
Next step is crucial- set proper permissions. Just do it the same as all other other files.
If you have problems you can always dirty flash the ROM
NOTE TO YOU AS A NEW USER. KNOW THAT STOCK ICS 4.0 KERNELS ARE UNSAFE AND IF YOU DO A FACTORY RESET YOU MAY KILL YOUR NEW PHONE. Please read the stickies on brick bug and you can install philz kernel to avoid issues.
And like other guy said...do nandroid backups...
Please hit thanks to me and other guy if we helped.

I just hate the default GB & CM7 gallery app as they take a lot of time to show up my pictures ( there are about 600 pictures on my sd ). That's why I decided to replace the default GB gallery app by quickpic. I renamed it to gallery3D, moved it to \system\app by replacing the original gallery & set permissions & rebooted. But quickpic on opening suddenly closes all by itself. Tried a fix permissions via recovery with no success. My question is, how do I get quickpic working ( as a system app & as an alternative to the original gallery ) ? What's causing it to close all by itself ? Is there any odex file of the gallery that causes this ?

open the quickpic.apk withe winrar go to lib----->armeabi---->copie all file to system/lib of your rom its all your apps is completly integrated in your rom
Instal quickpic apk separately and then from titanium backup convert it into system app n then delete the previous gallery app. pls hit thnx if helpd.

Some apps like camera and quickpic use lib files to function. The lib files have a set of instructions that are common to the corresponding app. So having a lib file makes it easy so you dont have to re write them again and again.

Why does it have to be a system app? Just install Quickpic and use TB to uninstall default gallery. That's it. Even if you don't uninstall default gallery, the OS will ask you which app to use by default.

Samsung gallery app problem. How to make Quick Pic app as the default instead
Dear All, Samsung users.
I have been having serious problems with Samsung S4 gallery App. The App just does not work anymore, as it keeps on freezing etc. I have resetted my phone several times and did it hard reset and the same problem occurs.
After several hours of research, I was told to use Quckpic app, which as a standalone is brilliant, but can anyone please give me a step-by step guide to make QuickPic as the default app to work with my S4 camera app, and also how do you delete the standard gallery App from the S4.
Kind regards
J
