Don't wait for Samsung

Why wait? just download a custom rom here from xda. Samsung is making us wait for a stock, poorly-optimized jellybean update
which sucks. Roms here are optimized for maximum performance cooked up nonetheless by the most talented developers/hobbyists I've ever seen. Its hard to thing that Samsung, being a large corporation with countless employees, can't even release updates on time while the devs here, albeit having their own day-to-day responsibilities and personal problems release roms overnight. WTF world

Just wondering if in the not so distant future we will be geting a port from the N7100 to our loved GT-N7000? Is this wishfull thinking or is it in the works? Thank's for any hope rel hope at least.
There will be but one has to wait for months. Sammy dont want its new flagship phones sales to be ruined. I am still satisfies with my ics experience. Will keep my phone for quite a long time

i believe the latest android update to 4.1.2 will have all the features Note 2 has.. so may be there wont be the necessity for a port

Is there an ETA for that update?
as samsung has decided to skip the 4.1.1 and update directly to 4.1.2 for NOTE, very soon
the recently leaked JellyBean Rom XXLS7 will bring the note 2 features to the original note

No, Ace won't be getting new version of Android. Only new releases of 2.3, if there will be any.
Ace was already outdated when it got released.
If you seek updates get a Nexus 4 otherwise use CM10 or stick with GB.

Gingerbread is great, but with the growing app market I am afraid this phone will be outdated in the next year.

Dude it's hopeless, instead use CM10 or AOKP ROMs by Jellaxy...
Well, we're stuck with unofficial updates, and for rhose there are Wayland, lagloose, imbawind et al to thank. I myself have now Wayland's CM9 RC4.1 with PSN kernel, and am happy with it. Still need to restore some stuff and tweak a bit... But it's stable enough for my daily use
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
There isn't any hope at all as ace has very low specs, far from the requirements of any 4.0 and 4.1. It has long been announced that official development for it has ceased since CM7.2 Even the official developers don't feel that it is worth the time developing for it. Samsung expected the phone to be a cheap one for all, they released it as a budget phone, so go for custom stock roms, plenty of them are nice looking and can almost mimic the latest versions of android.

Have you tried factory reset?
Root your phone. Install custom rom and kernel and see it fly high
Hit thanks if I helped

Have you flash the latest firmware from India? After wiping phone data performance was as good as on gingerbread for me...
but I would really use at least custom kernel. Cocore is a good choice :good:
Okay, why open a new thread for it?
This is called marketing strategy by Samsung !
With the jellybean update ..
They are slowing down old phones !
They are trying to make you think that your phone is now old and not power ful and you should buy new phone !
Just use custom kernal ....
And make your phone fast again

Or...you can freeze sh*t up with titanium back up pro....
Sent from the little guy
Or you go back to Gingerbread and wait for CM10.
I tried it today. Some really annoying bugs, especially the vibrating and the not working camera but I didn't saw our phone so smooth yet. It was really cool
I have just connected the phone to kies and updated to jb

Then its depending on your country what firmware you have. You have only the newest one if you're from India.
If you're from Russia, you have LQ4. Updating to Indian DDULP8 should be a big improvement. In Serbia, you get LQB, then the difference is much smaller.
To the Chinese update I cannot say anything, for us from other countries its dangerous to flash it
I made the update one or two months ago with LQ4 firmware. I didn't wpe data too, I was also disappointed. Now running Pure Vanilla V4 on base of Indian firmware with Cocore kernel it has become much better, only battery time is much lower than on gb.

Actually you are the idiot here. Thinking its samsung marketing strategy to update phone software to make it slower, so that people will buy new phones.
if they really did that, people are dump enough to think like you thought , then they will buy new phone. But it wont be a SAMSUNG phone
And please take a deep breath, and take it easy. I didn't mean to offend you.
Actually the same thing also happened with galaxy nexus with the 4.2.2 update ..... That phone also become slower after the update ...
Just because Google wants that people should buy the latest and greatest nexus phone ....
By the way you are junior member on xda and I am senior member so mind your behavior !
I am using android from 3 years !
Running latest android even on 2 years old optimus one and in galaxy s3 which is running latest unreleased 4.2 update ..
So you can not teach me such things ! I have more experience than you

He told me paranoid !
So i loose temper .....
Btw i have my own Rom Super Optimus for optimus one ....
But i didn't shared it to others .....(because i didnt have my own pc to update it regularly for other people)
And in s3 i am using the 4.2.1 official rom from sammobile with tweaked kernal ...(i didn't needed to build my own rom ,because there are already such great roms developed by great developers )
I concentrate more on apps and mods ....
Like trimming the size of the apps
Theming
Games porting armv7 to armv6
And things like that

Where o when to get the official jelly bean, not a beta or alpha?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
There won't be any official release for our device. Samsung stopped supporting our device long time ago.. Actually we don't need anyone when we have numerous choices of wonderful custom ROMs available for us which is far better than any official release..

There is no official jellybean for S plus from samsung. If you want the best jb experience you can use cm10 or cm10.1 You can find in development thread.
NEVER.. but as you can see we already have wonderful roms
That's what i mean, official i mean with play store, stable and fast, and off course cooked. I only find alpha roms and unstable. Please help, thanks
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
All the 4.2.2 ROMs Are almost stable. Especially the cm10.1. Its on RC5 now. So how could you say its in alpha..??
Hey, if there would be any custom ROM wich is in alpha status, it would be much better than any official Samsung stockrom. In our devsection we have the best devs you could ever have. From Samsung you would have one official Jelly Bean ROM. From our devs you can have more then 15 stable JB-ROMs. Just try some and enjoy.

I know, thats why i only use our great customroms. It's better to have a full stable custom JB, than a slow buggy stock GB full of bloatware. Fact is, Samsung will never ever release an official JB for our phone.
I have tried TigerROM, Ehndroix III and Cyanogenmod 10.1 and all went PERFECT

Can someone tell where to find leaked firmware for the s3 lte just as for tha normal s3??

Here on xda or Sammobile. Nothing leaked so far. We are in the same boat. I suspect 'Samsung plc' monitors this forum and plays game with us.

why don't you go steal it from samsung and leak it out
I wish we had a leak too. I miss the days of having an original flagship device (i9000) rather than a variant with no leaks.
Seems like sammobile has limited sources, perhaps one leaker (given the region of all its recent leaks - israel was it?). They probably only test i9300 and not i9305.

Why someone would like to have a leaked firmware with something not working like WiFi or Bluetooth? I guess it's always better to wait till the official firmware is rolled out!
In the past I tried some leaks on my Galaxy S2 and many functions not worked probably!
Just wait... we will become 4.2.2 as well...
PS: Sorry about my bad English!

Even if it does not work and it bricks your phone and you have no warranty as its not official firmware .
Leaks are not finished not fully working beta test roms .
