Whenever I add video's to my Kindle Fire HD's "personal videos" folders. It just display's icons with no names/titles and I cannot change it to a "list view" or anything.
Is there a solution for this?
You are correct. I've contacted CS and they had to escalate to the Kindle dev team.
I wonder if they'll fix it in the update...

Short version: could someone please recommend an RSS reader that
(1) shows a list clickable unread items in its Today screen plugin (not a scrolling line, but an actual proper list of items, like 10 lines or so)
(2) can auto-update the content (without me having to click anything manually)
Long version:
I was looking for an RSS reader that can show a long list of unread items on the Today screen, so that I can immediately see if anything is interesting, and click to read if I like. I have enough screen space, so I don't want to use a scrolling line.
I found only one reader so far that can show the item list -- Spb Insight. I can tell it how many items I want to see, so I'm very happy with this plugin. Unforunately, Spb Insight has one major shortcoming, which makes it unusable for me: it cannot auto-update the content. I actually have to start the software and tell it to refresh. Many people asked for the auto-update feature on Spb's forums, but it seems the Insight team stopped the development of this product (last update was in early 2007).
I then tried two other excellent readers: Egress and Newsreader. Egress unfortunately only shows a scrolling line on the Today screen, and cannot display a full list of items. Newsreader's plugin is simply worthless: it shows the number of unread items (like I care).
A6.time was a promising product, but the developer shut down last month.
PocketRSS has been abandoned as well, with the last update in June 2006.
Any help much appreciated.
MY CASE AND QUERY:
1. My htc trin WM5, at first listed my .mp3 and .mp4 files as a bunch of encrypted(?), unreadable signs such as: small squares, triangles, inverted tildes and other obnoxious symbols. When i selected one of them by order, once i remembered its ID by previous position in the folder, it played (coreplayer only) but freezing the image and allowing the audio to reproduce normally.
I hard resetted the thing and, before the file explorer as per my scard, it displayed the folders names correctly, but when i opened them and waited to see a list of their contents, i was presented with a blank page as if nothing was inside. I checked later and verified that my scard folder MUZZYK: had indeed 80 objects ).mp3 files and my scard folder VIDEOS: had 66 .mp4 videoclips i authored previously.
2. As i consider my right to rip musical arias (mostly classic) from
records i boughy and duly payed for, to convert them in .mp3 files and then reproducing them whenever i decide, i convinced myself that the only way i could make use of this legal right of mine in a device restricted by the Windows Mobile 5, was to flash its rom with a cleanner rom that would dismiss this prefetched actions of such obnoxious OS.
3. There begun the real problem -- in spite of a huge # of attempts, i was not able to achieve «connection» status with that masterly programmed utility named 'Active Sync' -- and that pushed me to propose here a "subversive" requested:
I am willing to pay for the job (and its time spending) to someone expert enough to to do it as described in point 5. -- i will visit his
or her premises (if in Lisbon), together with my htc, an alternative rom and the asked sum in €uro to pay the task.
Will appreciate to receive viable and serious feedbacks on this issue either here or via my email: [email protected]
Thanks for your attention if you reached tis far.
Best regards,
HN
Does anyone know a good app I can download view and edit Excel or Word files on? I have tried:
OfficeSuite
E-cell xls
Word To Go
I have attached a copy of the Excel file I am trying to manipulate on the G-Tab. I am able to open, view, and edit the file (well sort of edit). If you view the file file via Excel on you computer you will see it has "check boxes" but I am not able to see them on any of the above mentioned apps. Does anyone know of an app that I can do this with?
The form is being created for use in a physicians' clinic, to help avoid the the clutter of paper and eligible writing.
I was not able to upload (size limit) the Word file I want to be able to edit. But this file is filled with "drop down" menus which do not show up when opened on the G Tab.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Dave
That Excel sheet is full of Windows Forms controls. Since those are ActiveX controls I doubt *very* seriously you are going to find any programs on the G Tablet that will allow this file to work correctly. ActiveX, if you aren't familiar with it, is extremely Windows-centric. And at this point, fairly out dated.
Hi
Our company is being black mailed. I recorded a phone conversation (legal in GA) with a app called call recorder by appstar solutions.
The file on my phone has now disappeared. It was replaced with a file that says (nomedia)
If there a way to get this audio file back? Is it somewhere on my phone? I did NOT delete it.
Any help is appreciated.
Garry
.nomedia files just mean that media browsing applications should ignore that folder.
If your company is being blackmailed then that's a matter for the authorities, not a public forum.

Hi...whenever I take a photo and download it to my laptop, the title and description fields in the metadata already contain random letters. When I then download, edit and catalogue using Adobe Photoshop Elements, I give the photo whatever description and title is appropriate...these show up correctly in the Adobe software but the random letters still show up if opened in other software or if the details tab of file explorer is opened. Has anyone else come across this, and can it be avoided, please.
