Hi everybody,
To be honest I was very dissapointed when I opened the RAZR i box and noticed it came without headphones, I know a lot of people says all stock headphones su*ks, but, I am one of the few persons who still use stock headphones for playing music, talking to people while driving, etc.
I have tried to use 2 kinds of headphones with mic for the talking while driving purpose, but not even one of them worked. (iphone & sony headphones)
Is it going to be a pain in the ass finding a good compatible pair of headphones with mic?
Mine came with stock headphones/mic.

Now I'm confused, because a friend of mine and I bought the phone the same day, and none of them came with stock headphones, just the usb cable and charging adapter, I guess thats how they sell it just here @ Latin América or more specifically México.
Kind of su*ks.

I'm from Germany, and mine had headphones included.
If you are looking for working headphones, I use the Sony MW600.
All buttons work a intended by the manufacturer, sound is good, my conversation partners have no trouble understanding me even with a lot of noise around, the battery lasts for about 12 hours of nonstop music.

Spoiler
Mine came with its own headphone.
But i bought a Jayz One+ headphone which is fully compatible.(better quality than Moto's headphone)
So, i managed to break my stock headphones. they were pretty rubbish and i'm looking to replace them anyway, but if anyone could recommend a cheap alternative that would be great.
It's a shame that the other headsets i have (that i had previously with my xperia ray) don't work in that they are only detected as non-microphone headphones and the volume is muted unless the button is help down, so i can't start/stop music or answer calls or speak with people using them.
i don't want bluetooth or anything, just some cheap wired ones.
Mine came with
Manual - Guide
Auriculares Motorola - Stock headphones
Cable USB
Accesorio para extraer sim - Sim and sdcard extracter
Cargador de batería - Battery charger
I bought it in Claro, Argentina.
I suggest that you will have to buy a headphone in a local. They are like 10U$D more or less.

This is my second "not" high end device from Samsung and once again I have been thoroughly impressed with the headset.
As far as mouthpieces go, it's adequate and works well. Could do with a few more controls etc.
I think the headphones themselves are what really stood out for me.
Whilst they're not Shure headphones at any rate, they are very good for stock. Better than HTCs and a lot more comfortable. They appear to handle a substantial amount of low end before the audio distorts and the dynamics are awesome!

I feel scammed, no extra cover nor headset.
For you people who did not receive headset and extra backcover:
It depends on which region you buy it!
I bought mine in Asia (HK) and didnt get any extra covers, but a headset was included.
If I had not experienced using the headphones myself i would really get the wrong idea from reading the first post. It's not that great (imo), the mic is alright though.

So Hi everyone, I'm new on the forum.
I buy Galaxy Ace two weeks ago and the box didn't have headphones. The man in the mobile shop gave me headphones with earbuds (rubbers) ..headphones like on SGS "GENUINE Samsung S5830 GALAXY ACE STEREO Headset Handsfree Headphones with Microphone"
Tried them in my Ace and the music sound was distorted, vocals seem far away/distant. ..Later, I tried them in Sony Ericsson X8...the sound was perfectly clear! Why? :|
Any help/thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Could be to do with your headphone input on your device. Try the headset on other devices/iPod etc. If it works, then it could be the phone.

Very surprise that you said the stock headset is quite good to use. I never open the plastic bag to take it out...! I use Senheiser's instead.
Will try it this evening.
I believe any headset would work as long as it has three insulating rings (white ones in the audio plug) similar to the factory stock.
the stock headset is just too much trebble.......
i hate it.....
i think 3$ headset is better.....
I bought one is Sri Lanka and it came with headsets and a spare back panel. But the headset in my opinion is not so great. may be there's a regional variation in that as well.
Although I like the stock headset, using even slightly better headphones shows a substantial increase in sound quality =S

I know I will get Newb flamed for this, but I searched for hours as per video and didn't find an answer that really helped. I am getting ready to drop my Iphone 4 and pick up the new Note 2 through ATT but I know that it does not come with headphones. I researched pretty much every headphone/earbud thread on here and found a few ideas, but when I went to the manufactures websites, some claimed that their earbuds were not fully functional with the Note 2. So my question is, what earbuds/headphones are fully functional with the Note 2? I mean they Have volume control, answer calls, FF, RW, Pause, and skip. Any help is appreciated so I can get my earbuds the same day as the phone.
Thanks and be kind.

You can use any one-button headset with "Headset Button Controller". My choice - Philips SHE 8005/00.
I would guess the Galaxy S3 stock headset would work just fine with it.
3 days of looking up different headphones and i am finding out some of the websites flat out suck as far as help goes. I am just wanting something that I guess would be considered plug and play with no need to download an app. I like the phillips SHE8005 recommendation, but you have to get the app to make them fully functional and then I read not all features work with the Note 2. I just want to get some feedback from someone who is actually using a fully functional head-set. I am planning on getting the phone in the next few days and want to have the headset when I get it. I keep seeing JBuds on Amazon, but I dont know if they will work.
Thanks again for the input.
I use a pair of Bluetooth headphones. Motorola S305, about $30 on amazon. They last a full day on a charge, going about three years now. They have the volume, skip, play/pause controls. And, never any cords to get tangled.

I have heard that as well, I have also heard the opposite. I know that there are several tiers of Beats that range from
Ibuds/urbuds thay are smart phone compatible( many styles and designs)
Solo
Mixr
Studio
Executive
Pro
And probably many more I cannot think of.
I have the wireless ones and I can say for sure that they are not the best sounding but they do offer a few perks that the others do not such as all the control functions on the head phones so you never have to retrieve you phone/music player from your pocket or bag. They are rechargeable and the savings in good quality batteries will pay for them rather quickly.
They are not the best but are good, and lets be honest, we cant afford the best.... lol

How are the headphones you might be willing to part with? I am not even sure what brand or model earbuds the note 2 comes with from other providers. I seem to be leaning towards a blue tooth set lately. The LG ones sound promising.
Hey guys!
So before owning an xperia z, i had the galaxy note (great phone) and i'd run my music through an AUX cable so it would come out through the car speakers (i ain't got blue-tooth in the care).
Now since I've got the xperia z, its becoming a hassle to open and close the flaps every time. So i wanna know if there is a device out there that's can act as a bridge? Xperia > device (via blue-tooth) >AUX cable > Car.
preferably the device should be small, no bigger then a pc mouse.
So yeah, if any has any info or something that's similar or better please share:fingers-crossed:

u can use another smartphone with google music and connect it to your car
Something like this?

Or upgrade your headunit to one with integrated Bluetooth.
Some of the adapters (like the one above) do have some issues with automatic connection/reconnection when the car powers on... But that's the general type of device you're looking for, search around and check reviews.

I have the MW600 (came with my wife´s SonyEricsson phone some years ago), and works perfectly apart from it does not work with the micro USB charger cable attached.
You need to charge it, then disconnect it from the charger to use it. Would be perfect if would work with the charger cable in and would power on with the charger plugged in (read, ignition on).
Sorry if this the wrong place to ask this question, but as the title says, my Apple earphones aren't clear on my s1. Try this thing, while playing music, press and hold answer button on your headset, sound should become clear.
This is a well known hardware problem, it's that apple and samsung manufacture headphones jacks using different connection layout. That way headset mics do not work properly by different manufacturer. Usually, when you buying headset, it defines "iphone, htc compatible" or "samsung, nokia compatible" (not sure about specific phone manufacturer). I also have one philips headset which came with simple 3.5 female to 3.5 male adapter, to work with both connection types.
Moreover SGS1 has tv-out through the same headphones jack, this way it's more messed up, and even the sound does not work properly.
I guess your only option would be buying some adapter, seen several on ebay, specifically designed for sgs1, but I could not tell whether they do what it says.

Mine are Shure SE 215!
I found out that playing and pausing audio with any Audio Player does stop the noise signal after some seconds. Sometimes it also stops by itself. Very strange problem, did not experience it with my old Xperia S.
To me that sound similar to desktops. When you plug the speakers in the back. You hear the distortion before its in 100%.
Not sure what that is but doesnt seem to affect anything. Do yiu have any water in the headphone hole?
Maybe its the phones metal inside. Could be dust? Maybe something in there thats interfering with the headphone jack. Give it a good blow. Or a brush that can get in there.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 4
The Distortion appears directly after plugging in the jack and stops after some seconds or upon pausing the audio. This is without touching or moving the cable, so it does not have something to do with the mechanical connection.
EDIT:
Ok I found something out: The noise just appears when using earphones with a standard connector with 3 lanes (Ground, Left and Right Channel). When using a headset with 4 lanes (Ground, Left, Right, Mic) there is no noise signal. Tried it with both a Sony and an Apple headset (no noise) and my Shure earphones (noise)
I have no clue why it behaves like this, though.
Could be a cheap way for them to make you spend more money on headphones.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 4
My Shures were definitely more expensive than the headsets I tested 3 vs 4 lanes is not a quality sign it's just so that a headset needs the 4th connector for the Microphone signal (correct me when I'm wrong).
I have similar issue on brainwavz B2 but that weird sound is gone after a while...
Looks like Im not alone on this issue. I have problems with Shure se210 and westone 4r.

Good idea, but it does not help. Also tried deactivating Smart Connect and rebooting, but there's still noise when plugging in the jack.
This really annoys me! Especially because it just happens with normal earphones and not with headsets, so it probably is not a hardware bug.

I have problems with jaybird bluebuds x :crying:
Well this is disturbing. I was hoping this kind of crap would have been sorted out by now. I posted a longer rant on another review of the Z1 on Engadget, but here's a snippet of what I wrote,
"I had a really bad experience with a Sony MD player. had a sharp md player, that I bought in Japan, and that thing was awesome. It did everything I wanted it to, It was pretty and sleek and I loved it. It died in a car wreck. Back in the states, I got a Sony to replace it. (only available brand at the time) Twice, I had to return it for a manufacture's repair because the headphone port kept crapping out and creating static on the headphones. The stupid retailer tried to convince me it was my headphones but I tried multiple pairs. The thing was a piece of garbage. Ever since then, I've had a bit of a sour taste regarding Sony's audio products. "
The problem you all are having seems a bit better, at least the static goes away after a couple of seconds. On my MD player, it would go away but then come back if I adjusted the headphones at all inside the jack, and sometimes without provocation. Has anybody noticed that the problem persists beyond a couple of seconds after the headphones are plugged in? If it does, It might just be the same flaw in Sony's headphone jack design. It's abhorrent to me, that a company that built its brand on audio fidelity is also the only company with which I've ever had a problem with something as simple as a headphone jack. I hope that this is the exception rather than the rule with these phones, because I still really want one. I guess one potential solution is to just use bluetooth headphones instead, but this doesn't solve the potential hardware problem, It's just a work-around, and when you pay that much for a flagship device, you shouldn't have to work around anything. The hardware should work flawlessly.
oops.. I ranted again.

This is the reply I got from Sony Mobile:
Thank you for contacting the Sony Xperia support centre.
We are sorry to hear that you are having difficulties finding headphones to work with your Sony Xperia Z1.
The Sony Xperia Z1 uses a CTIA headphone jack and therefore will only be compatible with other CTIA headphones. As Sony do not test there phones with Third Party Manufacturers, such as Shure and Westone, we can not confirm that they use the same connectivity. You would need to speak to the headphones manufacturers to find this information.
The headphones and headset models which are compatible for your phone are listed below:
MH750
MK200
MW1
SBH20
MBH10
SBH52
