Wondering if anyone is using these two music apps on the 8.9? How do they sound with headphones? I hear it has a Wolfson! Been hanging on to my 1st gen Galaxy Tab, which sounds great with headphones, but this seems like the upgrade I've been waiting for.

I'm rooted and PlayerPro installed just fine from the Google Play. Looks like the Amazon Appstore also has a "Player Pro", but isn't the same app.
This is the first time I've plugged headphones into the Fire HD 8.9. Speakers sound so great I haven't needed to. I'm no audiophile, but with headphones plugged in PlayerPro sounds great. No complaints.

Has anyone tried the Klipsch S4i with the HD2? I was just wondering if the controls work with the HTC music player as well? I saw from other threads that Iphooey 3Gs headphones seem to work (mostly)... This would be great
Wondering the same thing about the Bose On-Ear mobile kit, if anyone knows?
Nobody has these?
Yes i have these head phones! The sound is fantastic!
Although i am not sure if you are refering to the ones with the in-built remote. I have the ones without so i don't know if that helps. Well worth the money.
Yeah... I was wondering if the remote works... I intend to buy these I would be happier to get the version with the remote though if it works...
I've got the Etymotic Hf2 (no volume control but I prefer the sound) and the button works fine for start, stop and call answering. Although I think they may be designed to work with most phones though.
I went a little nuts and decided that I wanted full cans instead... Bought myself a pair of Monster's Beats by Dr Dre cans.... OMG... the BASS and clarity.... Did I mention the bass????
WOOHOO! Worth every bit of the $350 I spent (paid a premium cause I was in Dubai)

Any news in this matter?
Do the S4i work with HD2??
i have the same question as well. klipsch s5i is also announced. i hope they work.
any news? i want to know if klipsch s4i controls work
From the constructor website
The remote and mic are supported only by iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod nano (4th and 5th generation), iPod Classic (120GB), and iPod touch (2nd generation), iPod Touch 4g, MacBook, Macbook Pro and Mac Pro (2009 models), and the iPad. The remote is supported by iPod shuffle (3rd generation). Requires latest iPod software. Audio is supported by all iPod models. Mic and call/music button control features functional with 1st generation iPhones and iPhone 3G. Volume Controls are not compatible with 1st generation and 3G iPhone. Also compatible with VOIP, Skype, iChat, and audio recording applications.
So what about the klipsch S4i....?
is it working on HD2 or not...
And also i m wondering its sound quality compared to sennheiser and creative ie8 or ep 630 etc...
is there anyone who tried klipsch headsets with hd2? especially klipsch s5i. i need a rugged headset with music control buttons working. a few stock hd2 headsets dies on me and thinking about investing a little to get something that is of good quality and rugged enough to last.

i have the klipsch s4i with the mic/remote control and just to inform you guys, the volume control does not work. the only button that does its job is the play/pause button. other than that, the sound's is great. i use it on my vibrant with the dragon kernel + voodoo sound and it's awesome!!! i have the phone setup on automatic answer after 3 sec so no problem there... btw i'm running on bionix v.

How's the bass on the s4i? Heavy?
Sent from my EvoBB HD2 using XDA App
I've just got the S4I and i've got a Galaxy S 16GB..
the headphones work, but you'll continue have to press the middle button to hear it fully, so you'll have to tape that, the sound is great btw
cheers
Monster and Bose = Overpriced, underperforming (tried both at Fry's). FYI, most of the stuff either of these companies make is over-priced garbage.
The Klipsch earbuds have separate tweeters and woofers and an actual miniature cross-over network. They're literally like speakers in your ears. Big difference from the offerings from Bose and Monster.
I've got these and are very happy with them:

Please suggest me a good headset (wired) with microphone for my Google Nexus S.
Klipsch Image S4i
I have the original S4's (same thing just w/o the mic) and they sound great. Considering picking up the S4i's.
Do any other cheaper options exist?
im waiting for the a-jays one+
comes with android app for advanced features like track skipping and so on

My vote goes to Zagg SmartBudds. Really nice sound, good bass, especially with voodoo sound.
Not too expensive either.
I like a pair of noisehush nx-50 that I bought for like $10 that still work except the connection side is getting flakey . I thought that upgrading to the nx-80 would be a good plan, and it's not too great sound wise. On the nx-50 the earpiece is both kinds of earbuds combined. I have dropped my phone a few times with that headset which is likely why the connection is messed up. If you want a cheap headset with good sound and can deal with the earpieces, they're worth checking out. When i say both combined, i mean ipod style with the more in ear piece coming out of it. And I never had a complaint about mic volume. And definitely it drowns out other sound.

There is a brand called Meelec that seems to do some of the best cheap headsets, and most of them have mic.

I also own Klipsch Image One (amazing!) and Klipsch Image S4i.
I've been using the ear buds that came with my Nexus S, I like them but I wish I could control music playback properly with the one button that's on the wire, it seems it can only pause and play, I can't control volume or skip tracks and that's kind of annoying specially when I'm running.

You try double pressing? That should skip tracks.

I did, but doesn't seem to work. I'm using an ICS ROM on my Nexus S, that might be the problem, but I don't remember the double pressing working when I was using GB...
Yesterday I tried some apps from the market to assign commands to the presses, with that I can sometimes get it to skip the tracks but not always, it seems it has a hard time distinguishing between a single press and a double press.
My vote is for ZAGGsmartbuds. Not incredibly expensive, and they sound awesome. The "hangin tight" thing is cool too
I use the iBeats by Dr.Dre that comes with Sensation XE and sound is mmmm
I don't really like the in-ear headphones, what would you suggest for me? Not to expensive...

Hi, I'm looking to buy the ibeats for my nexus s but on the box it says they're made for iphone/ipad/ipod. Does anyone know if the controltalk that are on the headphones work with the nexus s?

If your ROM supports it you will have control over start/stop, advance/reset track. The volume is not functional, Android unfortunately does not support that feature. In my opinion you can get better earbuds, I had a pair and they sound is OK, but they are clunky.

I have a pair of solo hds and the control talk works on both stock and sense roms. The volume controls don't work, but the pause/play and double tap to skip works. Recently though the mic on them haven't picked up any sound, so calls are a no go (though I suspect that it's my cable).
If you don't mind me asking though, why would you choose ibeats over tour? I haven't tried either, but looking at the cable, the tour would last much longer. Unlike the over ears, the cable on the ibeats is standard fare, and that's what always go first on my headphones. That's just my opinion though.
same here... play/pause works with music and pandora.
no volume controls.... they sound good after you tweak them with dsp manager.
Go with jays four instead of beats, equal soundquality for half the price. Same flat cables.

Buy anything but Beats by Dre. They are probably the worst value in the headphone market. Better off to go with Sennheiser or something.
What Im wanting to do is have the nexus 7 on a stand and be able to pause and skip audio thats playing. Is there some sort of bluetooth remote or something that is compatible with android?

I have been using the Sony Ericsson MW600 for years and this sucker still works for the N7 as well. Best money ever spent on a bt headset. Also has FM transmitter as well, which is a bonus IMO. And yes I can skip and pause tracks.
As for video, there is lag so I wouldn't recommend it for that usage.
I think they are on sale on amazon's gold box deals for 40bux today.

Thanks for the reply.. actually it wasnt a headset I was after, but just an actual remote. So the setup is that I have nexus hooked up to powered speakers through a lead going out of the nexus & I want to effectively use my nexus as a media player (without have a nexus Q LOL)
If you have and android phone, there are apps that let you control by WiFi, or Bluetooth..another android device... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tournesol.tabletremote&hl=en is one, but there are others.

Yes, I do have an android phone. I'll try this out!.. thanks
I bought this device to use as a music player for my car, but as soon as i hooked it up and used poweramp I noticed teh sound quality is horrible. Is the DAC that bad on these, or is it something else?
If you're talking about the fire 7 (5th Gen), it's a $40 tablet. You can't expect a high quality DAC.
Anecdotally, I'm thinking about setting up a chromecast in my car because BT audio from my phone is so skippy. Perhaps you could do the same?
