Anyone got the iPhone headphones to work with the SGN2 - Galaxy Note II Accessories

Anyone got the iPhone headphones to work with the SGN2?
I absolutely hate the ones in the box. Please advise.
The ear buds works fine, but the mic does not.

I believe the note 2 has an anti hipster file and will not work with those ear buds.

Apple earbuds
As far as I know, apple earbuds (with the microphone) are purposely designed to work only with Apple products. They are better able to control the third party accessory market that way. I did find this, but I have no idea if it works or not:
(I don't think I can post links yet, but do an internet search for:
"modify-any-iphone-headset-remote-to-work-with-android-devices"
on lifehacker.com.

I got the in ear apple headohones and they only work tobpause and play music. Cant anwser or change tracks or speak while on a ohone call.

Earphones/Headphones With Mic

Does anyone know of any earphones/headphones with a mic that work with the DROID Incredible (or android 2.1 phones in general)? I dont care really about the controls, just the mic.

I believe the Nexus One comes with headphones that do this, but not certain
I have the Holua Skull candy earphones that have a mic and they work really well. The button press will play/pause and answer and hangup calls. Nothing really special other than that.
I am using the set that came with my wife's blackberry (that I just replaced for her with an Incredible) and they work fine with both calls and audio playback. I am not sure that you need any special brand to get to work with your phone.
I just picked up a random $20 set of in-ears with a mic from microcenter, they're marketed for iphone, but worked out of the box.
I think I'm going to buy the Nixon Whip Mic headphones.
I have bought in ear type of headphones from the VZW store that have worked int he past. Too bad I broke them. I stepped up to a bluetooth headset.
I'm using the set from my iPhone until I decide if I will buy the Bose or something else.
has anyone tried the psp go headphones? they work really well on my tp2!
I tried to talk on the phone with a standard set of headphone (no mic) and it worked just fine--the phone uses its mic for calling if no mic is plugged in. YAY.
I'm using the iPhone headphones which work just fine

Im using the moto S-9 stereo bt headphones. Calls sound good and everyone says I come in clear too. A2DP is sweet too for trance/techno and podcasts
Etymotic HF2
I bought them for my Blackberry, I use them for my Droid, my Ipod, for everything.
I use the Motorola S9-HD bluetooth headset.
To me they work great, but the call button does not work correctly with the incredible.
All phones, at least the ones I've used works with the mic and the answer/call/pause/skip/prev/ button. I think that is just a common thing in every chipset of phones or something
South-Wing Bluetooth headset works...
I'm using the SA505 and the sound is terrific + it provides lots of control.
I'd be happy to recommend the MEElectronics AI-M9Ps that I brought for a mere $23.99. Great quality and sound for a decent price. One of the reviews here pretty much nails it:

Wired headset

While I have a Bluetooth headset for car use, I've found myself using the included wired headset for music use and incoming calls while listening to music.
I'd like to upgrade them to something higher quality but everything I see listed is for the iphone. Will the buttons to control music and calls on these devices work on the Streak? Is it possible that someone could write an Android software interface if not?
Any recommendations? I like the look and reviews of the Scosche IDR655m and the price is right but a waste if the button and mic may not work for calls. I've heard the Bose may be ok, but I'm a Bose sceptic - good products but way overpriced.

just ordered some off these will let you know how well they work or evan try lookin at the senhiser mm50ip can get them for about 25 quid if you shop round but supposed to be a bit base heavy so i opted for the hf2,s will post up findings when they come

got the hf2,s and they work rather well, button answers calls stops starts and skips music.the mic is apperently v good acording to peps i have called as is the sound i hear.they take a little experimention to get to fit right but youll know when you get it right
BEST SOUNDING HEADSET ive heared
works with my hd2 as well so well chuffed
A work colleague bought the Scosche for his Iphone so I tested with the Streak. The volume buttons don't work, middle button will pause music play and answer phone but the mic didn't work for phone calls.
Any more recommendations?

the jack plug is wired the same as the ipoo(iphone) so why his mic didnt work i dont know but i do know nokia use a diff jack config that defo dont work with streak
The hf2 do get some good reviews but are they really worth the price? Is there nothing in the $50 or so price bracket? I'm tempted to get some ' for Iphone' buds and try them on the offchance that the problem with the Scosche set is limited to that make. I still don't know why the mic didn't work if the 4 contact connection is supposed to be a standard.

I also tested out the iphone/ipod headset (the "newer" ones with the +/- buttons) and found that the mic did not work. I think it has to do with the "apple chip" in the apple headsets that enable the three buttons to work, but not totally sure. I'd bet their older headsets with a single button would work fine
On a related not, has anyone found the streak's audio jack to have a lot of static on it? I can actually hear when the phone enables the audio jack -- there's a slight "click" sound and then some hiss before my music starts (i.e., during the initial quiet part of a song)

razzi they are so worth 60 quid, i was dragged up by a dad that loved his hifi that much i wasnt alowed a sterio in the house, for eg 750 for a cartrage so i know when he said they were good there good lol
the button on the hf2 dont allways work as you want but dose work with some player apps but the call quality its self is v good
as for the jack plug being a standared we can only wish i know for a fact that nockia headsets DO NOT WORK with the streak
oh and as for being light on base no way you just have to put them in right (watch vid on web site a must)

btooth headset help
hope this helps re headset,
i have been using the jabra 3030 bluetooth stereo headset for a couple of years now, 1st on a sony crapy x1, and now with my brill o2 uk 2.1 dell streak,
its been pretty much perfect on both phones with call control, music control etc etc,
i am a uk truck driver and cannot afford to get cought without hands free and the jabra has given me great service, if i want to call someone then it is just a case of a 2 second pres on stop/start button to call up phone voice commands, shame 2.1 voice command isnt as good as 1.6 but lets hope froyo sorts that out.
music quality is great with descent 3.5 mil headphones and will play music or voice calls all day if needed, i also bought some short length in ear sennheiser cans, perfick.
cheers.
Another vote here for Etymotic hf2... simply outstanding.

I am super pissed!

mY friends has a mobile shop and the poor guy showed me more than 15 headPhones....
Not ONE PAIR WAS COMPATIBLE WITH my HTC HD7....
The Sony Ericsson ones are working but only the top part is working fine...
ALL I AM LOOKING FOR IS A PAIR that has the small ear buds and a mic...
I am open to any other company...
Or can someone suggest a company website where I can buy them, like HTC.com or Sony Erecisson.com or something...
RAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!
Currently I am using the earbuds that came with the Dell Venue Pro for my HD7. Comfortable enough to wear all day without pain. The mic works, but I'm not 100% sure about the volume rocker.
Similar to these sets... which I'm sure would work fine...
http://www.igonemobile.com/product.aspx?p=26831
http://www.amazon.com/Handsfree-Stereo-Headset-Original-16904-003/dp/B0046Z430I
The trick is finding a set that's 100% compatible. The stock headphones that HTC gives you are quite painful unless you're Shrek.
HAve you guys tried the Iphone ones ? Just a thought ..
These are probably the best bang for the buck.
http://www.amazon.com/NuForce-NE-7M...?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1299779815&sr=1-50
With my TMOUS HD7 phone, I just use the phone mic with a regular headset and it works just fine. The phone mic seems to pick up pretty good even when driving. I never even tired the headset that came with the phone yet. The only issue I had is that if I plug it in after answering the phone, I will need to toggle the external speaker on and off for the phone to enable the phone mic.
Try the Creative Labs HS-730i, you can get those for under ~$30, if you know where to look. Unfortunately, I don't know any Indian online shopping search engines, as Google doesn't appear to have one.

Hi all...
Thanx for all your suggestions. Firstly, like I said, I have tried ALL companies. including the iPhone. To be honest, the iPhone one works. But there is no bass. Only kinnda treble.
I listen to Drum and Bass and Dubstep and it OBVIOUSLY needs a good headphone...
I was whining infront of a friend about my plight. and suddenly he said I have a sennheiser pair...wana try?? And I said, BLOODY HELL...why not...who can refuse sennheiser!!
AND BOOM!!!
Bloody hell!! WHat sound!! He can get me a good deal for it so on Monday I am gonna have one sexy pair of headphones for my 16 gig music...
But thanx a lot guy for your suggestions!
P.S: If you guys want I can tell you the code of these ones. It doesnt have a mic, nor a volume rocker...but then again, its sennheiser!!! Do i need to say more
Well, I thought you were looking for earphones with a mic... the phone has a standard 4 pin 3.5mm headphone jack, any stereo headphones under 1 watt with standard impedance will work just fine.
On a side note, though, if you want bass, Sennheiser is the wrong choice for you, they're too much focused on trebele frequency response. Philips or Panasonic headphones might be the better choice here.
Yeah... he even yelled that ALL HE WAS LOOKING FOR was headphones with a mic.
There's a million friggin stereo headphones you can use without volume rockers or mics.
the **** man.
sennheiser are ok but if you look for *the* sound, you want to try the westone. 3 real drivers, high/medium/bass. best sound around, about 400$ but I got mine for 3 years they still kick ass amd beat any other brand.

I really dont know but I think you cant abuse in here brother. It can get you banned. Yes, to answer what you have replied, i WAS looking for headphones with a mic, BUT I didn't get any..tried everything from Samsun, iPhone, Nokia..but nothing worked...
Sennies are just about OK(except the ie7 and ie8),there are MUCH better and cheaper options available.
I love my earsonics SM3 for headphones, but there's still plenty of other good choices. I suggest you go to head-fi to begin your search and narrow your budget.
Actually I am getting for a pretty good deal...they are originals...

Stereo Bluetooth Headset

I recently rediscovered Pandora and I also found iHeartRadio. I found my favorite morning radio show on one of the stations. Sadly I haven't found my favorite local station that has the morning show. I work off and only catch part of it on Mondays while driving out of town. These with the Nexus S are awesome.
I'm clueless on Bluetooth headsets. I discarded the ear buds or disregarded them actually and used them for the first time this weekend after using a pair from the Galaxy S last week. Those hurt my ears but the NS ones I used last night were pretty comfortable and was even able to sleep on my side.
So on to the wants...
Price: 50 or less. Maybe more if you can provide a very good reason.
Sound Quality: I can't tell the difference between CD and MP3 so they don't have to be great, good will do.
Volume Control: I really want this on there. I'm going to need to hear people speaking to me while I'm listening to music, but I'm going to need to turn up the volume when I take a call.
Multiple Phones: I have the Nexus S as my personal phone but I'm a foreman at work and have a BB Curve that the company provides me. It would be pretty sweet if it would answer both phones. The BB rings more often. This would be the very good reason I mentioned above.
Charging: I'm not sure how this works on BT devices. Educate me.
Comfort: This is key for me. I'd hate to waste my money on something I'll put on a shelf and look at. Like I said the buds that came with the Nexus S are comfortable to me but I've never liked a pair that were like the ones in the Galaxy S.
I just did this same search. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find anything that supported A2DP for less than $80 (Canadian). I went with a BlueAnt T1, primarily because it has an Android app that does Text to Speech for SMS. Pretty happy with it, aside from the price.
I was in the same need as the OP but I've found the sollution in the Sony Ericsson MW600 BT headset. The sound quality is excellent, loud and clear, it has built-in FM radio which works very well and it can be paired with 3 devices at once. It also has volume control, play/pause, fwd and rew buttons on it.
You can use you favorite set of headphones with this little gadget .. I highly recommend it.
Went with the Sony Ericsson. Thanks for the suggestions. Should be here by next weekend or later. Free shipping for the win!
Maybe these might be something your looking for. I personally have them they have good sound have volume control, track skipping and phone button to take calls. Quality is ok, not as nice as some other headsets but not bad for the price. http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-S9-H...R0BW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1318213100&sr=8-1
Looks like you made a decision already, but one I totally recommend is the Motorola S305. Its similar to the suggestion in the above post, but with better reviews. If anybody else is looking for some good Bluetooth headphones, check these out.

I've also used for about 2 years ,w/o any complain, the Nokia BH-503 - http://www.amazon.com/Nokia-BH-503-Stereo-Headset-Black/dp/B001DEWSWA
The only downside of those headsets is that you can not use them in a business enviroment or while driving so you will need a second BT device for those situations. That was the main reason I've sold the nokia one and bought the SE MW-600 ... it is meant for general usage (and for the FM radio ).
Jabra Clipper works with excellence.

Hi, I' looking for a wireless headset for gim use (running on the tapis roulant etc...)
Do you think this Sony Ericson can be used for this?
As long as you can clip it to some clothing it should work great. It is very very light so it should stick nice for any activity.
I'm using it also for mountain biking and it never fell off ... not even when I'm going downhill.
Bought it

Note 2-compatible earphones with controls

I just received my note 2 a couple of days ago. Loving it! - with a couple of small caveats:
1) Why must the stock email client suck so much? With such a great and big phone one of the main advantages for me would be to be able to email efficiently. But, first thing, you can't change the background color from black. Second, no search functionality. Third, the interface isn't beautiful. All of it: Just bad. (I come from iOS so I'm used to a very well-functioning email app). Some of the other email clients at google play seem marginally better, but none are perfect. Hope for updates and an imroved client from Samsung.
2) Then to my actual question in this thread. The earbuds/earphones that came with the phone sound great. But, they are in-ear. I know that most people prefer in-ear phones, but for me, not so much. It makes me feel shut off from the world, and if I'm listening to music on my bike for example I'm afraid I won't hear important sounds from the traffic, stuff like that. So I'd like to find some alternative earphones that are not in-ear. I tried the apple earphones from my old iPhone, and they work fine for listening to music and talking, but I can't control volume or move between songs and radio stations etc with them.
So I wonder: anybody know of earphones that work with the galaxy note 2 that are not in-ear, where the controls work and that have good sound?
headphone controls
For headphone controls, i am not sure because of the diversity of android phones that you ll find a compatible model which is a shame,
you can use this free software workaround solution : JAYS Headset Control in the playstore.
Regarding in-ear headphones and motorbiking: I did just that not too long ago and broke a time record unknowingly between two cities. It's cool what shutting off the outside world can do for your courage and concentration

Might be OT but both yes and no. You might take more risks but you also don't hesitate as much which makes it safer. Hesitating while driving/riding is really dangerous too! So its a double edged sword lol...
On topic, picking one of these bad boys up tomorrow. Hope the bundled earphones are decent enough to continue my stupidity on and off the road
Sony's Smart headset MH-1c has both volume controls as well as a call recieve button which works with Samsung Galaxy SIII and Note II.
While they are technically in ear, I would recommend using the LG Tone+ Bluetooth Headset - the model number is HBS-730. It has APT-X codec, which is for the most part indistinguishable from wired headphones, plus they have insane 12+ hour life. To get around being aware of sound around you like at work, I just wear one earbud in and the other one magnetically clips to the headset, which is super handy. I typically use them 10-14 hours a day and am a headset fanatic. They have volume control, play/pause, and track forward and back. Plus they have good sound quality for the money even though they are bluetooth.

Hi, I had the same problem and eventually have taken matters into my own hands by making my own using the 3 button remote bundled with the phone and some Klipsch S4i's I had left over from the iPhone days. The results were so good I have bought some more S4's to customise and have listed them on eBay for sale. Finally a solution to this problem. When are the manufacturers going to realise there are millions of Samsung devices out there and start making some decent earphones for us!!
Cheers

Another alternative is try out the app Around Sound from the play store. It monitors external noise from the microphone and pauses your music to play that sounds to you.
I posted this in another thread, but the best retail option might be the new Samsung headphones that start coming out with the S4 - the HS330. Supposed to be better than the S3/Note 2 headphones and obviously volume and pause/answer buttons work.
