ROM TYPES - Off-topic

What are the different TYPES of ROMS? I've been hearing about ASOP , Deodexed (or something like that). If someone can spare a link or a give a brief summary, that would be awesome.

Okay so i've been thinking about learning programming to start developing apps and contribute to this forums and i'd want to know somewhere else how to start with this kind of things. So this would help a lot to some others wanting to know how to program. I've been learning some from here n.n

Omg, can't you read at the beginning of the post it says that the features are not working... the same as our CM 10.1
So, they just stole it out of here and didn't even mention the names of the devs working on it...

Thanks for the tip on this, it runs as good or better than any other AOKP based rom that I've tried and I really like the theme. The new ribbon format is awesome! Don't know if ATGAdmin browses this forum anymore but I've downloaded the 5/23 gapps 4 different times (yesterday & today) and it comes up corrupt and won't flash.
Upon checking with Winrar, it seems that the META-INF folder with the script is the culprit. I got around this by extracting everything but the META-INF folder and then archiving it in the 5/18 gapps replacing everything while leaving 5/18 META-INF intact, this worked great.
So dparrothead1, thanks for the heads-up and ATGAdmin, thanks for the terrific rom. Hope you decide to give the forum another chance and reopen your thread.

I've been trying to get in touch with him. His XDA pm is not accepting msgs and his androidhosting site has no contact info.
He has a a 5/24 update so it looks as if he is updating along with the AOKP nightlies. As much as I like this ROM, I'm having a hard time using something with no support.

I was just in a mini dialog with him in another forum for the new Hisense Sero 7. I told him about my issue with the 5/23 gapps but he told me that he's flashed them many times with no problem. Maybe they became corrupt afterward because there's definitely something wrong with them now. I remember reading last night that the host had a power outage around the time I was downloading, maybe the file became corrupted on the server.
Anyway, as I mentioned I worked around the gapps and the 5/24 nightly is working well.
Here's a link to the posts with ATGAdmin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41798468&postcount=28
EDIT: Here's the latest post from ATGAdmin, he uploaded a new gapps and all is well. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41800432&postcount=31

I'm not using this ROM. The ROM creator has made it fairly clear that he is not going to support this on XDA.

[Q][i9000] Can somebody port the Jellybam Rom

Can somebody please port the jellybam rom because it never works it always fails to install with a status 7 error.
It isnt just me that has this, and i think this has happened ever since v9.2/9.4
Here is the link for the latest rom V10.0.0 based on Android 4.3/CM10.2: http://get.jellybam.com/3233/jellybam-v10.0.0_galaxysmtd.zip
If Jellybam is based on Cyanogenmod, you have to install the zip once more after you got the status 7 error. But you will lose all your data.

You could, but Jellybam roms are banned on xda.

The developer was a kanger apparently (so I've heard at least) and so was banned with their rom.
Pretty much, he stole code without acknowledging the source.

There is already a thread here that has a flashable zip of this OS for our phones.

You already posted same video link in firefox OS thread.
So it was useless and bad to create new thread just to post that, again..

For me the important thing is to help people (the more the better), but not getting "Thanks". I do this selflessly and I think many people should learn this too. I just want a better world for all. ...and yes, I know I'm crazy :silly: ...but HELLYEAH I love it
