[Q] Phone turns off after 5min - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone keeps turning off after using it for like 5mins, to turn it in I have to wait 10min, but again, it keeps shuting off after a minuit or two.
The battery status is really wierd after a turn off it dropps to 0% and then back to half the value before the mysterious turn off.
I got the problem first after updating to XXJW4 and using a JB ROM, now im using baseband xxjvo and no ROM but I still have the problem.
However the phone never turns off when the charger is plugged in, and while charging, the battery-status goes from 50% to 100% in 2mins
Sorry for bad english.
Please help Thanks in advance!

Phone Turns Off Unexpectedly

I've been having problems with my phone recently and I don't know what the problem is. It seems like the phone thinks there isn't any battery left and shuts off. The last time it happened, after I waited a while and turned it on, it had 87% battery left. I usually have to plug it in before I can try and turn it on again. Does anyone know what might be the problem?
Are you running a stock ROM? I suppose it could be a bad battery, depending on how old it is.

Please help!! My milestone does not turn on!

Hey there all,
yesterday, i woke up in the morning and my milestone was blanked out. Thinking, maybe the battery was at 0%, i plugged to the wall charger (connecting to computer never worked below 5% so..), i waited about a full day but it won't turn on. when i first woke up and saw the phone was dead, i tried turning it on, it BRIEFLY showed M logo then it turned off again.
after charging endlessly and having no result, i tried everything, i tried charging without sdcard, without battery to see if it will show on screen, took out battery put it again, tried bootloader, and any possible way but milestone is not responsive.
regardless of how i press power button it wont turn on at all.
Here in Canada, all stores are closed today because its Easter sunday.. I am gonna go to telus store tomorrow to check if another battery will make it work but would the battery get totally drained within less than a year!!? i didnt use my phone TOO much. I bought may 2010, and I wonder if warranty will cover this (it is 1 year) because mine is Rooted with CM6, and since phone doesnt work right now, i cant reset to stock mode.
Please input your thoughts as to how to solve this problem T_T Thank you.
Remove battery. Plugin phone to charger. You should see a battery symbol with a question mark inside. If it does, put your battery in and your battery should start charging if everything is ok with your battery.

It happened with me, but because of flashing a bad rom My MS kept rebooting.
I did flash a fresh rom using Rsdlite and it worked with no problem.
Beside what sileshn said try to flash a new rom.
Goodluck.

Crazy Battery Issues [No noob issues]

Hi guys! The problem is very strange. After charging the phone, at ANY %, keeps marking sometimes 75%, then goes down to 35%, in a matter of seconds. Then goes up to, for example, 52%. Then after a couple of minutes says : 0% and turns off. Well, the logical solution is charging it, but, surpise! The phone gets stuck in 0% even charging for 12 Hours. O_O Yes, i tried other battery and doesnt work. Yes, i also tried another USB or/and charger and doesnt work. Calibrating the battery just make it mark 100% for about 7 hours and then turns off, and shows a stucked 0% AGAIN. Yes i also wiped "Battery Stats" on CWM, but nothing happens. I can´t do ANYTHING without the phone wired to the charger. If i disconnect the charger, the phone shows 0% battery and wont start anymore.
Information: Android 2.1 Stock ( Flashed via FlashTool)
Any solutions¿? :fingers-crossed:
Thank You.
Either your phone is f*cked up or you haven't actually wipe battery stats

Reflash 2.1 and badeband via flashtool.

Charge your battery to complete 100%..
Now enter into recovery go to advanced and wipe battery stats..
This might solve your problem..
Do as dagger said.
If problem still persists, flash it again.

[Q] My S3 Mini Cannot be Charging When the Phone Is Powered Off

Forgive My Poor English
This problem only happen to Novafusion's Rom. If I insert the plug, Screen shows waiting state but not a battery sign. And the phone still shows waiting state, can't reboot. The only way to reboot is removing the battery.
Is That A Bug?

What rom are you using ?
Probably the power IC is damaged. If that's the case I fear that you will have to replace the entire board.
Sometimes happens after you flash a ROM.
Try using a battery calibration tool and see if that works......
I proposed this to a partner, you have nothing to lose, I tell you what I've done with something similar: download the whole battery, when you turn it on, nothing comes out, maybe it just vibrates, you remove the battery, the sim and the sd, so you put the power button for a few seconds and leave it like this for 4 or 5 minutes, after that time you set everything up and put it to charge, use it later until the battery is fully discharged, do not load it before only when it turns itself off, I hope this helps you
Same problem
