Hi,
I just bought a 7"KFHD for my 10-y-old daughter and I'm thorougly testing it before giving it to her for Xmas (or turning it back to Amazon if it doesn't fit my/her needs). I'm therefore a noob with this particular device (although not a noob with Android and my other devices)...
Q: I don't understand why some apps available on the Amazon App Store are deemed NOT compatible with the KFHD?
I have installed the Amazon store app on my SGS3 and have "purchased" (free) and installed apps on the SGS3 from the Amazon Store. These apps can be seen on my Amazon Cloud from the SGS3 but some of them are not visible on the Amazon Store nor on the Amazon Cloud from the KFHD, although I've got a confirmation by email from Amazon that I've "purchazed" these apps.
When I check for these apps on the Amazon Store from the internet, I can see them as being compatible with my Android device SGS3, but NOT COMPATIBLE with the Kindle Fire HD !!!
Why would Amazon release some apps on their own store if they are not compatible with their mainstream device, the KFHD ???
Am I doing anything wrong? How can I make such apps compatible?
Examples of apps available on the Amazon store but incompatible with my KFHD include "Draw Mania" and the famous "DropBox" !!!
I know I could side-way push these apps onto the kindle, but I want to avoid this... I want to make this device as easy to use for my daughter as possible, especially if apps are available on the Amazon App store, I don't understand why they would not install on my KFHD!
Thank you very much in advance for your help

So don't know if anyone has tried this yet, I did a forum search for it but no success.
Gameloft released a MMORPG for the iOS and also a select group of Android devices but Honeycomb wasn't included. I installed the game on my G2 and did a titanium backup and brought it over to my Xoom. Disabled the compatibility check through Spare Parts and was able to get the game to run just like it looks on the iPad.
This game is great, first 3 months free, then .99 cents per month. This is basically like a Mobile WoW feel for me and it's great. The thing is you have to be on Wifi to play it but I've been able to play it on 3G just fine leaving my Wifi active but not connected to a network.
Just a fun find.
Thanks all

Could you drop link the apk that you have modified, I would love to give it a try but sadly, it is incompatible with all of my devices.
Thanx

The game is $6.99, so he would not be able to post it here.
Its a fun game on the Xoom but force closes alot. A few of us discovered this about a week ago in the two main game threads(squarebare's and mine ).

My Note 3 is on Google play services 8.1.15. I used activity launcher to try to open Android pay. The app opens for less than a second and closes. I can't get it to actually open. The wallet app hasn't updated to android pay either. MY phone hadn't updated to the newest version of google play services automatically. I was able to get google play services 8.1.15 to load on both my Note 3 and Zenfone 2 by disabling and uninstalling the version that was existing. All of the google apps gave errors saying they needed google play services which allowed me to go to the play store and update. 8.1.15 is what loaded. Android pay is built into google play services.
I was able to access android pay using activity launcher on my Zenfone 2. The wallet app hadn't updated to android pay on that phone either, but I wanted to check it out. Google says all devices running 4.4+ with NFC can use android pay. I know the Note 3 wasn't compatible with the wallet app. I'm hoping it will work for android pay.
Does anyone have android pay running on their note 3?
Edit: I think I found the answer. The android pay site says NFC and HCE are required. According to the site below, the ATT Note 3 doesn't support HCE
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/22237583/list-of-devices-support-hce
It was a nice thought that this phone would have tap and pay. oh well.
Wait until it officially launches for our devices.
Android Pay should work for all NFC enabled devices that are on 4.4.2 and above.
The app is now on the Play store. The Note 3 ins't compatible.

It is a bit disappointing.
It also wont work with phones with third party launchers, third party lock screens, are rooted, or custom roms.
Has anyone else noticed their apps updating themselves without the use of the play store? I swear today I saw Facebook and Google play music do it.

they only update if you have the auto update option enabled in the play store. otherwise they do not auto update.
I must have slept too long then and not noticed the new features in GPM. Unless they were features already implemented but not enabled until Google decided to do so. I don't remember tapping search ever opened up a small search box, it was always it took me to a different screen.

I used to get something like that third picture
And now I get this little search box, and the play store doesn't show that it was recently updated.

It's pretty standard for google to implement features weeks or months in advance to "rolling them out" and usually it depends on Google Play Services which auto updates regardless of settings. wouldn't surprise me if Facebook used similar rollout methods
I just got the email that Adobe Premiere Rush has been released, rushed (pun intended) over to the Play store to download it and was greeted with...

Do you have a a Google Play link we can check ourselves? I can't find it in the Google Play store.
Never mind, found it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adobe.premiererush.videoeditor
VERY strange. They list Google Pixel 2, while the V30 is a much better phone than that.
Maybe they will add the V30 in the near future...

Adobe is being fairly conservative with device support at this time. The only hardware confirmed to work with Premiere Rush are the two most recent generations of flagships from Samsung and Google, and also the OnePlus 6T (pretty likely the 7 and 7 Pro will be on here shortly). Here's the full list:
Samsung Galaxy S10/10+, S9/9+, Note9, Note8, S10e
Google Pixel 3/3XL, 2/2XL
OnePlus 6T

But does it say it's compatible? I found the link but when I go there even on my computer it says none of my devices are compatible.
Hello there! New to this forum! So, here's the thing - I live in Europe, Poland, and about 2 or so years ago, I have bought a P30 Pro phone from one of our local stores - I highly doubt that it is a Chinese version of the device, but I might be wrong. Either way, I have recently installed Google Contacts app from Play Store, as I have wanted to make it a default on my device - I am wanting to use it with cooperation with the official People app from Microsoft on my Windows 10 PC, so that I can easily message my family or friends from my computer - But since to do that I would need to have Google's app manage my contacts, rather than the preinstalled dialer on my phone, I decided I would be willing to adapt and change my habits over to the new app. All would be nice and easy, if my phone actually detected Google's app I have installed and let me change it to default contacts app in settings, which it doesn't. Any idea why that might be happening?

Thank you, that worked. I was kinda surprised that it needed to be the Google's dialer app but glad it worked.
