Try just using the home softkey to exit out, it usually works for me. Just leave whatever app on the page u want it left on and hit the home key. Then open it back up and you should be right where you left off

What's a good app for disabling other apps that automatically start in the background? Some apps are so irritating they keep coming back, after i kill the task.

Try Gemini App Manager from the market. Keep in mind that not every app can be disabled.

You could try Startup Manager and Advanced Task Manager.
Has anyone else been using XDA Premium and go to fire it up with the shortcut and saying application doesn't exist?
This has randomly uninstalled two times on me while the phone was just idle. Then I have to go re-download it from the market. Any hints to what could be causing it?
I'm rooted and debloated via TBH Bionic Toolbox.

I had some weirdness with the xda app as well - the icon from one ofnmy home screens was a generic icon, while the one in my app drawer was the correct xda icon. After I rebooted while I was installing the extended battery it came back. No clue why
The app itself was fine, just the icon was missing.

Same happened to me. Shortcut stayed on the home screen but app wasn't installed anymore.

Right on, thanks!
It's not just XDA. Other apps also randomly disappear.
Pretty simple way of doing it here.

Here is another way of doing it, without installing an app.
Drag down the notification bar, long press "Power saver off," press App info, then uncheck "Show notifications." Then OK to accept.
It should be gone from the notification bar now.
This doesn't seem to work on the stock rooted rom. You can use the app info menu to force close power saver and the notification go away for a while, but it'll eventually come back.

Mine doesn't come back... did you disable system r/w protection? (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2236849)
I did, it'll come back after a reboot is what I meant to say. Not a bad sacrifice for now.
This worked for me.

Honestly its hit or miss with being able to uncheck that box. I have yet to find a pattern. Like in the ATT HTC One forum. Some are able to uncheck that box. Some like me aren't. Not sure why that is at all.
For those who are not rooted yet, all you have to do is force stop the application and it will not show up again until you power cycle.
I'm rooted on viper rom and I can't uncheck it

I am on AT&T and I can't disable notifications. I am on stock ROM and for now I do not want to root. Any new ideas how to disable that notification? It is making Jelly Bean Notification actions totally useless... (they don't show up)

The only way I know how to disable non rooted is long press on the power saver notification until app info pops up press it then force close it will go away until you reboot or battery saver is turned on

Just out of curiosity.. if you do the above and uncheck the box, does toggles come up first when you pull down the notification panel, or is it still the 'empty' notification panel that comes up and you have to click the corner to get to the toggles?

I'm not really sure what you referring to, I'm running 42one rom and my toggles stay unless I tap the notification bar when it's down then the toggles go away or tap to bring them back.

How do I fix the bottom right? I was trying to get rid of the cam shortcut and use the mail. But now I don't know how to remove it. Does anyone know how to. Thanks for reading.

Open app drawer. Drag items you dont want into app drawer. Place item you do want back
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
What he said ^^^ looks like you created a folder by accident. The bottom bar isn't like on other android phones, on this phone it's a part of the app drawer so to put apps on it or take them off you always have to be in the app drawer.
