Well I just got off the phone with Mr. AT&T and he said that the absolute definitive release date for the 8925 will be on the 3rd, or 12th, 17th, 27th or sometime next month. I was amazed and I told him not to worry and that I would go straight to my computer and post these definite release dates so people can stop using their magic 8 ball and post every five F_CKIN minutes on a new release date.
Just thought I would share the great news so everyone can sit back and relax.
not too definite now is it fella
yeah, those dates were more than one so not to definte, i was told by both the sales department and biz. care that the date would be on the 27th as posted about 3-4 threads down. silly goose
WOW YOU ALL NEED TO GET A SINCE OF HUMOR! This was simply posted to point out how silly it is to have many different threads started with the same topic. The truth is there are many dates we have heard this will be released but shouldnt they be on the same thread? Anyway, I was trying to find some humor in all of this.

I thought it was clever but earlier today when I went to respond "LOL" wasn't long enough for a post.
You guys don't have to believe me, but all I can do is reiterate the truth.
The phone IS coming to the AT&T warehouse on Monday. Period.
The retail stores will get a batch of phone throughout the month of sept. This is why you keep getting scattered dates.

So, since my nearest retail store is about 30 miles away, what matters to me is the date upon which I can order one online.
Monday is a Holiday, either the units are already at the warehouse, or they'll be there Tuesday. Most carriers do not deliver on Holidays period, or they would deliver on a holiday at an extra cost.
AT&T increase the price for 8525
It seems like the 8925 will cost around $499 as they raised the price of 8525 with a 2 yr contract from $299 to $349 overnight.
The 8525 was $349 with 2 year contract when I checked on it 2 weeks ago.

Yes, it will. The only hardware lacking will be the front camera.
I stand corrected with the official price drop. Sorry. ATT is not up to date I guess.
Looks like ATT will hang on to the higher price for a while longer.

Nexus 7s shipping early?
Is it possible that Google might be shipping these things out a little earlier than mid-July? When I did my preorder, it said my card wouldn't be charged until it ships, yet my card was charged today. Hmm...

You are correct sir. It's the one thing that's a bit frustrating compared to Apple product launches. The RMBP was available on day 1 of it's launch.
I think the wait will be worth it for the N7 though.
I'm thinking the 2-3 week window was just a fail safe in the event there is a ridiculous amount of pre-orders and they can't fulfill all of them with the current stock they have on hand.
I'd expect to see these start shipping within a week.
I could also be telling myself this since I'll be going on vacation at the end of july and don't want to lug my laptop or 10 inch tablet around.
I just checked my card and it was charged for me too. $230.40
I hope they are going to be shipped soon!
Mine was charged instantly i checked my bank but it say card charged when dispatched?
I pulled the trigger on the 8gb about an hour ago but haven't been charged yet. I think what theneil said is probably accurate.

I doubt they would start taking orders on such a heavily anticipated item if they didn't have a large stock ready to go, even if they cant keep up with the pace. Many times pre-orders were opened up for some new and exciting item and then there were delays in manufacturing which turned into an endless wait and the company ended up with egg on their face and bad pr. Hopefully Google and Asus have planned accordingly.
They pre authorize you for the device. That secures you one during pre orders. Then charge will fall off. Then once its shipped you'll be charged again.
Nothing on my credit card yet after a midnight rollover. Are you guys that are seeing charges using debit cards?

My life for Aiur
Maybe the ones that have been charged now get it early and the ones who have not been charged get it mid july or later i think they must of had so many in stock and sold out big time.

So who are the first unlucky soul to drop their brand new Nexus 4 and crack it? And what surface did it land on?
I'm still waiting for mine to appear from the google cloud (aka thin shipping air), but I am sure I'll end up cracking mine before a month have gone by ... In preparation for that we need a thread where we can sob over that
Let's have the stories, and release your frustration here ...
This has been posted about several times already...
As stated there are a number of threads about this already.

Dear all
I know that what you are going through is unacceptable and we are all working through the nights and weekends to resolve this issue. Supplies from the manufacturer are scarce and erratic, and our communication has been flawed. I can offer an unreserved apology for our service and communication failures in this process.
For those that originally received a 3-5 days shipping estimate, your orders are now in process for fulfillment. You can expect an email notification early this week which will include tracking information. Although you will be initially charged in full, you will receive a credit for the shipping charge soon after.
For others that received pre-Christmas shipping estimates, we anticipate processing your orders for fulfillment this week.
I realise that the people who ordered the Nexus 4 so early are among our most committed and loyal users and we are doing all we can to put things right.
Sorry again.

What mess? I, like the majority of people were quoted ships in 1-2 weeks, and it was delivered to be within the 2 weeks.
Some people are just a bunch of whining drama queens.
If you want to look at a product launch that REALLY failed, you only have to look at the Xbox360, 60% failure rate after 3 years on the market..... Thats a REAL botched product launch...

granted, some people are drama queens, but there are many people who still haven't received their order from Nov 13, and don't forget all the backordered folks from the initial release. Still there's some 1-2 weekers who have not received shipping emails. There's also the issue of ppl not receiving their devices in proportion to their order time. Furthermore, he's also apologizing about their lack of communication, which was another issue.
Also, providing an example of a greater failure doesn't justify this one haha.

Google originally quoted 3-5 day shipping to those of us who ordered on Nov 13. Then we got a backorder email the next day that changed the estimate to 3 weeks. I got my phone yesterday. That's right, a day shy of 5 weeks. Some Nov 13 orders have yet to be filled. They have NOT been filling the orders in the order that they were made, nor have they kept up with demand. This has been a shameful fiasco. Why do you think the shippong and orders thread has almost 40,000 posts?

WHAT???!!! AN APOLOGY FOR LATE SHIPPING???!!! WHO CARES! FK HIM AND HIS APOLOGY!!!!
Where's an apology for USB/OTG and all the hardware issues??? Who needs an apology, recall this phone and start over again. They need to be hit where it hurts, in the wallet. Apologies don't hurt them financially. Fk that.
A lot of people got backordered, and even at this moment, the phone is completely sold out. There aren't really people being drama queens factoring in that the Google website is pretty much the only place to get the phone (unless you want to pay 200 dollars more), and when other products are sold out, there are lots of other places that might be supplied. LG came in with a really small supply of Nexus 4's, and it's hurt us in the end. Then again, I think the problem is also that, even now, I don't think they're that incredibly concerned since they're not looking to profit off the phone majorly as they are just trying to introduce the phone into the market as a stepping stone for other companies. If they don't sell some large number like 2 million phones, they are more than happy and I don't think that's what their intentions were in the first place. Unfortunately, this ends up hurting a lot of people who actually want the phone, or who have it and want accessories and such.

I wonder if/when google will bring the nexus line to motorola if we'll see an actual big player rise in the smartphone world. I imagine if google put in an actual real solitary effort into the nexus line (instead of these half assed cooperative efforts) and advertised its product well, we would see a legitimate competitor in the smartphone market. There is some money to be made with the rise of android in the past year. I hope google will consider augmenting its objectives for the nexus line in the near future.

The only mistake Google made with this phone was selling it so cheap so millions of people wanted to buy it instead of getting it.on contract like normal phone.
The only mistake???
Pfft.
Old news ...we have enough news Google screwed up in every aspect of selling the N4, from the launch time announcement to the ordering to the shipping to the communication to the rma's.
you name and it they screwed up big time everywhere they were involved in.
I find it hard to believe how cynical everyone is. I had a few issues as well with Google, but I called and talked through it all. I know some of the customer service representatives are a little clueless, but those who have't got their device yet, probably could have done something about it. Also, Google is new to this game, you can't expect everything to be perfect their first try.
And yes I know they've sold devices before, I have purchased almost all of them, but I don't believe they have ever had such a high demand.
Just relax and enjoy the holidays.

Yes, because it would have been sooo much better if they sold it for £500+, just like the iPaidTooMuchForThisPhone.
When you stay awake to be first to order a phone that takes 2 weeks more than it should and there is still no bumper for sale, that is failure. If i wanted to pre order i would have in September.

The preorders would run out as fast as orders, so you still won't be happy. Preorders don't magically speed up production.

Dunno, I suppose LG probably won't even bid for another nexus. And the next OEM will be Compal, ZTE, Huawei or something.
Or even Motorola, like "dear OEMs, if you don't elect supplying us with a new platform, Motorola will. This is not a threat, we repeat, this is not a threat!"

What bugs are these that require new devices?
I can't give out any details since I don't want to get anyone in trouble but basically I spoke with someone I know who is connected to Samsung and they game me some info, but it's pretty vague. They said that samsung experience shops will begin to put up new ads for the Note 4 during the last week of the month and that the shops will be getting floor models of the Note 4 during that time. The person also said that the release date will be in the first week of October, possibly October 3rd. I also heard another person say something about the Note 4 being release early, as In the last few days of September but that doesn't seem likely since Samsung themselves said October. I am assuming they got the release date confused with the day that they will be sending out floor models but who knows. (EDIT: just read this article on gottabemobile that references a September 26th early release, still skeptical they would release in September after saying October though. http://www.gottabemobile.com/2014/09/17/samsung-galaxy-note-4-release-date-could-be-close/) All 5 of the US Note 4 carrier variants have cleared through the FFC so it's coming, soon....ish. Take the above with the typical dose of salt.
Thanks for the info. Did your source happen to mention when the Galaxy Note Edge will release ?
I'll continue to take with spoon full of salt until something more concrete is released. Seen too many of these types of posts over the years on XDA.
I wonder if this would apply to Canadians as well? It looks like past Note's released at the same time in Canada and the USA if I read correctly. I can handle a little over two weeks until launch. I'll set myself up for that and if the info is wrong it shouldn't be much longer after that.

Fair enough, I don't blame you. Most of the rumors about the Note 4 were dead wrong. Samsung is VERY good about keeping info secret.

No idea, my source did not mention anything about Canada so I wont speculate. I am skeptical about the early release dates(Sept 26-28th) that are now being rumored but I sure hope Im wrong. My source was telling me about how the work schedules were being set for maximum coverage at the end of the month and very early October(I know he's not BSing me). Does not compute. Sorry guys, the info seemed legit enough to share.
Samsung seems to be surprising all of us, but in the worst possible way. What a terrible terrible launch. Releasing a product after 6 weeks from announcement is unacceptable. They got the Note 3 out even quicker than that and they didn't have the iPhone 6+ bearing down on them. Also, releasing a 32bit and 64bit version is so bizarre. Pick one and produce it like all the other manufactured do. Who ever comes up with this stuff needs to be fired pronto.

Verizon is quoting a few days after that:
Order Date: 09/19/2014
Ship By: 10/23/2014
No news on the Edge and a launch 6 weeks after announcement. Apple announces and launches their phablet within 3 weeks of Note 4 announcement. Note 4 ads ,giving no date or reason to buy ,launch on TV.
This is why Samsung sales continously slip. They forget they got to this point by magnificent advertising and hammering iPhones and its fanboys. Now they're too busy patting themselves on the back and acting like everyone is willing to wait it our for their phone.
Its hard getting to the top, but it's harder to STAY there...
