I want to reduce the number of screen elements to the bare minimum that will still allow me to see at a glance the information I need yet still allow me quick and easy assess to the phone's functions and applications. I've never been one for clutter either at my desk, in my home or even my dress. My phone might as well reflex my taste and go minimalist too.
This is a work in progress and I would like to hear what you think of my efforts so far and your ideas on how I can improve upon it while maintaining my goal of keeping the phone informative and functional.
__
__
Lock screen || Right | Home | Left || Folders
What you don't see in the screenshots are the invisible app buttons made possible by Transparent Launcher or the unlabelled SiMi Folder Widgets both of which hide away those items which I do not want advertised. I'm debating whether to remove the labels from the three visible folder widgets. Maybe only I will know where each function is but I'm the only user of the phone anyway.
Also not evident visually is LauncherPro's ability to assign dual functions, assessed by either a tap or a swipe, to each of the 15 dock items. The 30 apps that I can launch this way serve the vast majority of my needs. Each dock item shares closely related tasks like Dialer (tap) and Call-Log (swipe), SMS and Instant-Messenger, or App Market and QR Code Scanner. However, I'm thinking about reducing the number of docks from 3 sets of five to just 1 set, dumping quick assess to some of the least used apps and transferring the difference to Transparent Launcher widgets.
I'm also taking advantage of the fact that most information widgets also act as app launchers. In this case tapping the SiMi Clock Widget will launch the Alarm Clock, tapping the header of LauncherPro's Agenda widget launches the Calendar and tapping the 2 line appointment reminder (Calendr) also launches the Calendar but set to the agenda view instead of the calendar view.
I'm hoping that the developer of SiMi Clock Widget will implement a user request I second. In the attached screen shots, I would love to remove the weather and battery from the center home screen to the screen on it's right where they would replace the redundant clock I have there now.
Below is an AppBrain linked list of the theme related apps I using:
Lock screen >> SiMi Clock Widget || Calendr || WidgetLocker Lockscreen
Home >> SiMi Clock Widget || Calendr || LauncherPro || Dreamlyfe.mini Text Dock Icons
Right >> LauncherPro's Calendar/Agenda widget || Dreamlyfe.mini Text Dock Icons
Left/Folders >> SiMi Clock Widget || SiMi Folder Widgets || Transparent Launcher || Dreamlyfe.mini Text Dock Icons
The lock screen is meant to convey the most basic information I might need on the run. Turn of the screen and there is the time and my next appointment.
The home screen is all about the phone as a phone, a communication and location device. The right screen is for the phone as a computer. Dictionaries and wiki's, social networks, games and tools live here along with some app maintenance functions.
Unfortunately, the left screen is a bit schizophrenic right now. It was originally meant to be solely about multimedia with simple controls for controlling music, podcasts and audiobooks, however I found myself opening the calendar/agenda app more often than I had anticipated and had to give-in and place the widget on a screen. I wanted to keep the phone as fun and free as possible but had to concede to the commitments of life. I need to morph this screen into a Work/Finance area and either banish the multimedia functions to a fourth screen, add them as invisible apps somewhere or create another folder on the right screen. None of those options are appealing.
I'm also looking for a replacement for LauncherPro's Calendar/Agenda widget. I want something that will lay the text of a scrolling agenda list straight over the wallpaper. Basically something like the LauncherPro widget but without the dark grey backgrounds and hopefully more compact. I haven't found anything suitable yet so I might have to bite the bullet and learn how to re-skin the LauncherPro widget myself.
There it is. I like the direction it going. I think it has potential. Any suggestions?

Android Agenda Widget is good for this. The look is very customisable, has a transparency option, and you can also have gtasks showing on the same scrollable widget. Very nice, and free.
I suggest using Quickdesk as an alternative to having folders or anything like that. Essentially, double tapping the home button brings up an extra homescreen (can be from inside an app, too) so you can quickly get to a range of apps and widgets.
I have two homescreens - one for clock/weather/calendar/controls and one for my generic tools (Tweetdeck, Market, Maps, etc). Quickdesk gets me to a bunch of specialist applications, and the app drawer gets me to the rest.

Updated my setup. Now I'm using Go Launcher Ex instead of Launcher Pro. To keep things even more minimalist, I have a single dock icon which takes me to Quick Desk when tapped. I set my home button to Quick Desk as well, so I can easily switch between my apps when I'm not on my home screen. Quick Desk is an amazing multitasking app which basically gives you an extra home screen, where you can add apps and even widgets for easy access. The best thing about it is that, as I mentioned before, you can set this app as your default home button.
This is my setup. I don't know if it will be of any use for you since everyone has their own personal preferences and needs. Maybe mines will give you a different perspective or spark some new ideas (or maybe not).
I only use 1 home screen with Go Launcher Ex and with my status bar hidden. I have never seen the need to have multiple home screens. I tried to keep everything as efficient and minimal as possible while still maintaining some degree of aesthetics. Whenever I'm bored with my wallpaper, I could always swap the painting with another in Photoshop to give it a new look. Due to this, I don't need to change the layout of my home screen, move widgets around, or switch icons because the layout of my wallpaper is consistent. I like it this way. The rest of my widget and dock details are down below.
Home Screen
- swiping up on my home screen opens the app drawer
- swiping down on my home screen launches Quick Settings
Widgets
Android Agenda Widget
- tapping on individual calendar events opens its events details
- tapping on the bottom right corner of the widget opens its "uber" menu where you can add events, change settings, or view your whole calendar
This is a great widget in my opinion. It can sync to a lot of third party calendar and task apps such as Astrid. It has a lot of customization options as well. It's scrollable too if it's a feature that you need in a calendar widget.
Simi Clock
- tapping on the left side of the widget launches Clock
- tapping on the middle of the widget opens its quick 5 app menu
- tapping on the right side of the widget launches Genie/News and Weather
Simi Clock has all the daily info that I need in one small package including time, date, weather, battery, and it can launch apps.
Dock icons
Apps
- tapping launches Quick Desk containing my most used apps and widgets
- while in Quick Desk, tapping on the "Multimedia" icon in the top right opens Apps Organizer shortcut that contains a folder of my 20 most used multimedia apps (music, video, photo, games)
- while in Quick Desk, tapping on the "Misc" icon in the top right opens Apps Organizer shortcut that contains a folder of 20 utility apps that I occasionally use
- swiping up on apps dock icon opens notifications (in Launcher Pro and Go Launcher Ex you can assign dual functions to your dock icons for tapping and swiping)
I didn't want any scrolling to make things more efficient. That's why I only kept it down to 20 apps in a folder, which is the most you can fit on the screen at one time, or at least on my Captivate for that matter.
@raven369 you place the picture in the frame on the wallpaper? Or do you use a picture frame widget? Like your layout

Thanks. It's actually a part of the wallpaper that I put together and not a picture frame widget. I couldn't find any widgets with any good looking frames so I just Photoshopped it into my wallpaper.

Thanks Boonja for the suggestion.
I did find Pure Calendar widget but have noticed a few rendering glitches with it. Sometimes the agenda items don't appear at all. I'll give Android Agenda Widget a try.

That looks very interesting. My concern though is that according to it description it might not work with LauncherPro. I'll give it a try and see if it works and how it feels. Thanks for the suggestion.

This sounds complicated. The description mentions labels which I've not heard of before. I'm fairly new to all this. I got my Samsung Vibrant just a couple of months ago and only worked up the nerve to start mod'ing it a few weeks ago. I think this app will take some thought before I could effectively utilize it.
You certainly have given me quite a bit to think about. I can see now that there is still plenty of room even on a single screen to have all the info and functionality I want. It might take me awhile to get there but at least now I now how far I could possible go. Thanks!

Apps Organizer is actually a very easy app to use. It can be downloaded in the market plus it's free. I can teach you how to use it.
Once you open the app you have 2 categories: Apps and Labels. The Apps category pretty much just lists all of your apps. If you go to the Labels category you can create labels which are essentially folders. Just use the menu key on your phone to create a "New Label." Once you've created your new label hold/long press it and click on "Select Apps." From there just check off all the apps you want in the label. You can also rename your label the same way by long pressing it and clicking on "Rename."
Now if you go back to your dock on your home screen you can create an Apps Organizer shortcut. Just long press on your dock, select "Change Shortcut," select Apps Organizer, and then choose the label you want as the shortcut. If you don't like the icon just long press it on your dock and select "Change Icon." I'm sure you know how to put shortcuts on your dock already so this paragraph may be redundant information to you.
Can you save and upload your settings for Android Agenda Widget. I just can't get it to look like yours no matter what I do :/
So glad I stumbled on this thread - the design goals in the OP is exactly what I am going for, and I was tired of going thru tons and tons of pages in the various "Post your homescreens" threads here on XDA and AndroidForums to gain inspiration. Now hopefully I can just come here instead!

Is it any different than FolderOrganizer? I use this and i think it is excellent.
Also, I find that the minimalistic text widget to be awesome. It is super customizable and has tasker integration, which is way cool.

Apps Organizer is actually made by the same developer as Folder Organizer. Folder Organizer is more feature heavy. Apps Organizer can only organize apps while Folder Organizer can organize apps, bookmarks, contacts and also place apps in your notification bar as well. However, Folder Organizer isn't free and the lite version disables the majority of the features.

What phone do you own? I'm reluctant to upload my settings file because I don't know if mine will be compatible with yours if we use different phones and calendars. i just don't want to end up mucking your phone.
Have you tried these settings?
Code:
Appearance -> Themes -> "Minimalist" or "Minimal with date" (Sorry, I don't remember which theme I exactly used but I'm sure it was one of these)
Row Style -> inline
Row Settings -> Row Background -> off
Date Row Settings -> Day Row Background -> solid no pad
Date Row Color AND Date Row Transparency -> set everything to transparent
Text & Font Settings -> Text Highlights -> everything off
Bold the Date -> on
Advanced -> leave everything off for simple and more complicated settings
Toggle Skin Elements -> on
Use Frankenstein -> off
Customize Skin Colors -> Skin Color Customization -> on
Widget Color -> set Background Tint to black while everything else to transparent
Buttons & Toolbars -> I had toolbars turned off. I had right button #2 turned on with uber button action and its style all transparent.
This should give you a layout similar to mine. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
I use calendr for my calendar widget. It only shows one event at a time. Also, I use a lot of minimalistic text widget.
A knew one just dropped a few days ago, good for organizing apps on your homescreen: circlelauncher
pretty sharp looking too, you'll need your own icon though.
To me, any minimal calendar widget that doesn't display the location of the upcoming event is flawed. I also use Calendr, but I can't stand that I have to click on it to see the location of my next meeting.
This calendar widget and setting is exactly what I have been looking for. Thanks.
It even has tasks that sync to google incorporated into the theme. Perfect and minimal.
One thing, what setting kills the color of the calendar as a bullet? I want the totally clear look, no color.

sorry a question. Where did you get the text icons for the SiMi folder widget (reference, social, games). I like your layout very much.
____
Edit - figure it out thanks
Thanks
I have almost the same setup, but I use SiMi folder instead of Folder Organizer and I use Phantom Music Control for the music widget in QD. @raven369 why did you go with Go Launcher?

Presents: VTL.Launcher v.1.6.1
****This release is now under a NEW PACKAGE NAME and no longer SIGNED DEBUG to prep for Market Release. Please uninstall the old version first. Sorry for making you do that but it is necessary and the new features and options make it worth it!****
This Launcher is designed with landscape tablets in mind! (that's not to say it doesn't also function well in portrait mode..... as it does)
First off this launcher is based on ADW.Launcher's Source code so I would like to thank anderweb for all the ground work. Most ADW Themes will work for VTL.Launcher.
Features Include:
- tablet layout optimized (smaller screens will need to play with desktop layout and dock icon size)
- elastic scrolling
- 3 individually configurable/toggleable scrollable dock bars
- individual controls per dock for background/reflection/visibility/icon size
- icon size for docks can be set different per orientation
- user folders to place shortcuts to apps, bookmarks, contacts, etc.
- icon changing for user folders and apps.
- quick action items menu when long pressing apps, folders and widgets.
- catalogs for organizing apps in the app drawers
- swipe actions on app drawer to navigate catalogs
- uncataloged catalog where new and uncatagorized apps fall
- 1 to 7 homes screens with sense-like previews
- configurable action bindings (swipe up, swipe down, home button)
- long hold uninstall from trashcan
- moveable trashcan location
- hide home screen icon labels
- auto rotate orientation
- system persistence with configurable locked orientation
- widget size spanning
- scrollable widget support
- live wallpaper support
- fullscreen mode
- backup/restore settings
- compatible with "most" ADW Themes
This should work on virtually any device. Though non large screen devices may have issues with the layouts so you will have to play with the desktop column, row numbers, dock sizes etc.
V.1.6.1 bugfix release:
-Fixed bug in app drawer with Setup Catalog Button not working.
-Added rotation capabilities and saved state to the Setup Catalog App List.
V.1.6.0 Changelog:
-Moved from Beta to Stable.
-App Drawer Performance Improvements.
-New Package name to force reinstall on proper app signing to prepare for Market.
-Added Individual Dock Controls for Icon Sizing Per Orientation (really large icons could look pixelated).
-Added Dock background and corner graphic scaling based on icon size.
-Added The Ability to Add/Remove the Bottom Dock. Side Docks Expand to claim the gap left.
-Added Individual Dock Controls for Background/Reflection.
-Added Individual Dock Controls for whether a dock should be displayed with the app drawer.
-Added the Ability to Lock Orientation either Landscape/Portrait for persistence option.
-Added Icon Changing for User Folders. New Icons then show up on desktop and in Docks.
-Added a Revert to Default option for Icon Changes on items.
-Added UnCataloged Catalog for items which you haven't placed in a catalog. New apps land here.
-Added Quick Action Item to choose Catalog.
-Added Quick Action menu capability to the app drawers. Long press any icon in drawer and don't move it.
-Added Swipe to change catalogs in the drawer. Up/down in the Horizontal drawer and left/right in the Vertical.
-Added Catalog name to the top of the app drawers.
-Rearranged the menu slightly.
-Minor Bugfixes.
-Code Cleanup Removing more of the Old Dock Stuff.
The Launcher is FREE here for XDA members. It costs 2.99 on the Android Market and with that you will get automatic updates and support further development.

Great work GoJimi. I've been wanting something like this for a while.
I ended up just removing the dock bar from my ADW EX and putting my 'dock' as just standard short-cuts along the bottom. (saw this idea on another thread).
Downside is that my 'dock' is only on one screen, or I have to replicate it across all screens. This launcher solves that problem.
One request. on ADW EX I can set it to 10 x 10 columns. I think 8x8 is the most supported by this launcher? I have mine set to 10 Columns, 8 Rows.
Can this be added to VTL?
Thanks!

I'll look into it for you..... knew it was only a matter of time before people started asking for EX features... ... just so everyone knows EX isn't open source so any of those features that he has there I would have to figure it out from scratch (not that I am incapable, mind you). Just remember that when asking for EX features that it will be more work for me than just copying over some code so it will take time. Also keep in mind I am trying to keep this as lightweight and functional as possible so some feature requests may be put low on the list. This request is not a major undertaking and may actually get added. All of course "after" I finish up VT.GE B1.

i love how i can put the trash can either up or on the bottom since it's just closer to where my hands are. everything is SO customizable... would it be possible for you to add that option to change the placement of the status bar to the bottom as well? i think having the status bar on the bottom would be ideal... again, thanks a lot bro
Putting this thread together to give you guys a variety of Launchers i found on the market. So rather than having to find them all over the place i will keep everything here in one place and will try and find as many as i can and update the thread with any further updates the developers release for the launchers.

Try toggle Manage wallpaper if screen scrolling isn't smooth, select Preferences > Workspace > Manage wallpaper.
Zeam, thanks to its minimal aesthetic, not only looks fast but feels fast. It's also incredibly simple to use, and unlike the other launchers it actually works very well out of the box.
My favorite feature in Zeam is configurable gestures -- but not only can you bind swipe actions, like ADW, but you can also bind double tapping the screen and the Home hardware button to actions.

Lightning Launcher
Description and features
Lose the fat, keep the muscle. Be warned, Lightning Launcher is on steroïds.
Lightning Launcher: Lose the fat, keep the muscle. Be warned, this launcher is on steroïds.
Tips, please read this first:
Use "LLW App Widget" if you want to add Android widgets.
This app is started through the HOME key and not from your app drawer since LL is itself a launcher. If you cannot select it through the HOME key then you need to clear the defaults for your current launcher.
for any question or suggestion, do not hesitate to ask: [email protected]
This application has been designed to minimize memory usage and be fast: the more memory you have for your applications, the faster they will run. In other words Lightning Launcher has been built from the ground to preserve your phone's resources and keep it smooth.
In spite of its ridiculously small size (less than 60kb!), Lightning Launcher is packed with a fair amount of features and brings to Android a very unique concept: the home screen can be seen as a giant surface on which you are free to put icons, shortcuts or widgets exactly where YOU WANT, and not limited to a 4x4 grid. Pinch to zoom in or out the desktop, use the home key to switch between a full scale view or the normal size, or double tap on empty space as in the web browser to immediately see all your icons. And everything stay functional whatever the zoom level is: widgets are alive, icons can be clicked, and so on.
Lightning Launcher drops rarely used features and focuses on useful ones but comes nevertheless with numerous customization options. Icons and widgets can be moved, scaled and even rotated freely. Each object can be configured independently, you can change the font, the label, the icon and much more !
The package is extremely small, only a few kilobytes. What it means is that the Android system do not need to load several megabytes to run this app. Lightning Launcher starts faster and run in perfect harmony with your other apps.
For people kindly asking why the CALL_PHONE permission is needed (notice that this the only one needed by LL!): this is needed for direct call shortcuts, and this permission is included in all major launchers, including Go and Pro.
For other people not asking why and putting stupid one star comments: go away, you have just lost a unique chance to try something new and better, have a good day.

FTL Launcher Pro
Description and features
Make no mistake, this is the fastest launcher you'll ever run. Small, light, configurable. The Gingerbread launcher as it should have been. No useless stuff, no compromises. Performance and usability are the driving forces here.
On version 3.0 Pro users have a all new game to play now: The Pro version can use existing ADW, GoLauncher and LauncherPro Icon and Dock themes, giving FTL and unprecedented array of possible theming. You can even mix Dock and Icon themes from different launchers. Google Play is yours for the take.
And of course you still have the other extras: configurable homsecreen grid from 4x4 to 6x6, resizeable widgets, and, never seen in any launcher: control over core Android window animation speed.
Important: FTL supports all resolutions and ICS, but only 800x480, 854x480, 960x540 and 480x320 devices have 3D drawer enabled! Also ICS has no 3D drawer because it does not contain the "old" opengl interface. But as it is natively accelerated anyway, 2D drawer should be very fast.
Features:
Theming support: The Pro version can use existing ADW, GoLauncher and LauncherPro Icon and Dock themes, giving FTL and unprecedented array of possible theming.
Tweaked for extreme speed and smoothness
Fully accelerated 3D Waterfall app drawer
Option to use "normal" 2D app drawer
Configurable support for resizeable widgets: only when adding them to the homescreen, you cannot edit them later.
Configurable Homescreen grid: From 4 to 6 rows, and 4 to 6 columns
Configurable number of homescreens: from 1 to 9 with configurable default homescreen
Choice between 3 and 5 icon Dock
Configurable Dock icons size
Configurable "swipe down" and "swipe down" independently to any of the following:
Includes anim speed: precise control over core Android windows/transition animation speed

Configurable Infinite looping of homescreens
Configurable support for scrollable widgets

This has gone straight to my subscribed threads
Great thread and I hope it keeps getting updated as such. Good work
P.S. You should add Holo Launcher and Regina Launcher on here.
I was using Regina for quite a while before and it's a solid launcher but not as much customization as I'd like. And I'm currently using Holo but have only just started using it, so I haven't covered all aspects of it yet, but it does look and feel great

Errr.. why don't you put the launcher themes too?
Hi all,
yesterday, I posted my new homescreens and you reacted nicely to it and asked for a tutorial! So here it is!
I will first describe the method to theme your launcher (I used Nova Prime) the more easy way... once I get more skilled I will upload more advanced guides!
Here is a list of the widgets you'll need:
Bobclockd3
minimalistic text
circle battery widget
plug in music widget
beautiful widgets
power toggles
1. Clean your current home screens. I recommend you make a backup via nova settings in case you dislike the new look or something!
2. I used the default HoneyComb wallpaper, just google it and set it as your wallpaper if you like it!
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3. Now for the first widget to be added, were gonna place the main clock!
BobClockD3 is a nice clock widget, add it on the top right of your homescreen.
You will get a screen like this:
First, select the color of the hours. We'll just use white now, with zero transparency.
Then, you want to choose about this color for the minutes:
And don't forget to make it a bit transparent, that will look nice!
You can confirm that now, it'll look like this:
4. The next widget is going to be the Circle Battery Widget. You wanna choose the 2x2 one. Place it in the top left, next to the clock.
You can configure the colors you want the circle to be at certain battery levels by tapping the widget > colors. I made the normal color white, the warning color more transparent white, the critical color almost invisible white, and the charging color normal white. Other flashy colors can disturb the nice minimalistic look you want! After this, the homescreen will look like this:
5. Now for the last widget on the main screen you need Beautiful Widgets. It unfortunately is a paid app (Arr).
Add the "BW Weather 4x1" widget to your homescreen. A configuration menu will pop up.
Scroll on to the Appearance tab and tap the weather theme. You'll want to download a theme callled "Vos-Flat White", and set it.
You don't need to mess with the background theme for now. Go on to the Background and Colors tab, and enable "Hide Background"
Hit the checkmark in the right top to finish. The widget will be 4x1, however, it looks better if you resize it to 4x2 using the nova thingy.
Your homescreen should now look like this:
6. We are now going to set up all the icons, as the rest of the widgets sort of depend on them.
WARNING: This can be very time consuming. If you do not wish to spend more than an hour theming, stop right here.
First, just put the icons where you wish:
Now, the fun bit is going to start
You will need to download an app called MetroStation Icon Pack.
This app contains (you guessed right) loads of nice icons.
It looks like this:
For example, if you want your Facebook app to have one of these nice icons, you long press the facebook icon in the launcher, tap edit and this will come up:
Tap the icon, and choose "Icon Pack", then "MetroStation"
Now find the icon you like in the database, then choose the color you want. To keep the blue/white theme I have, you want to choose white. You can add a little transparency if you want. Do this with every icon and your screens will look like this:
As you can see I made the App Drawer icon blue. You can choose to do so if you like, I think it looks nice! You might also have noticed that the "Games" folder isn't a preview of the contents, but just one icon. You can do this the same way you chose the icons of seperate apps.
7. Now for the music widget. The widget is called "Plug In Music Widget" and is free to download from the Play Store. Add the 4x2 version where you want it to be. It does not look very nice now, but to change the looks, open plug in music widget from the app drawer, scroll to settings, and first tap "Select Music Player" it will show you a list of supported players, but I can tell the stock HTC music app works well, just like Apollo and Play Music. Next, scroll down to "Set widget Background" and choose "None".
It will now look something like this:
8. We are now going to add the power toggles. You can of course use the stock one, but I found that the free market app "Power Toggles" can be themed so that it fits our theme. Add the power toggles widget and you will be greeted by a menu which explains you the way it works when you open it for the first time. As a style, choose "Indicator". Then, choose the "Tint" background fill, and set white as the color. Scroll up again and give it the amount of transparency you like. Tap done when finished. Your screen should look like this:
9. Next thing is to 'label' the grouped apps. We are going to use the app "Minimalistic Text" for that. Add the widget of the desired size on the desired place and you will be greeted by this menu:
First of all, uncheck "Show Background". You can leave the orientation the way it is, and scroll on to "layout".
Delete the current row, and click the "+" button in the bottom left. Scroll to "Misc" and check "Static Text". Tap OK.
Tap the "Static Text" box, and enter your label, for example "Social". Choose the style "Normal".
Now scroll to the next tab "Text Style", and tap "Normal" The size of the font should be around 40, and set the color to HEX code: FF33B5E5. Tap ok and then new color. Tap the save button top right.
And that's it! You have now succesfully themed your phone like a boss!
I recommend you set up a gesture in nova settings with which you can toggle the status bar, as the homescreens look better without.
This guide was based on Armando Fereirra's YouTube video "How To Theme You Android Phone Like A Boss".
Please hit the thanks button if this helped you get an awesome homescreen or made you understand theming better!

And a question Phenziox, how much home screens do you have?
EDIT: Also how many grid columns you have set? I used to have 5x4 but the BobclockD3 looked weird so I went 4x4.
ANOTHER EDIT: Hex code is invalid ;_;
FINAL EDIT: DONE THEMING MY PHONE!!! It only took 2 and a half hours but it's ok!

Hi everyone, I finally decided to share my work. I thought a lot about to put these as paid skins/widgets, but I finally decided to share them for free, because I feel very bounded to open source philosophy, and because this way I can pay back all the people that, as me, share their work for free. Nothing against paid works, they all deserve to be paid, the amount of time I spent on any of these set up it's sometimes just absurd, and yes I'd like to gain some money for that, but I prefer to let the users decide wether or not give a free donation, as I always did. No more words, just enjoy my themes, I hope you like them:good:

This is Chrone theme, a zooper widget set of 4 widgets, 2 for black, 2 for white version. It took me forever to put it together, but I'm satisfied with the result. The theme is something very particular, I hope you like it:good:
INFO
Chrone include a Musci Player widget with coverart available, a weather forecast mini widget, as long as clock widgets and more than 20 hotspots available!
I personally designed everything, even the icons, editing every single part carefully and one by one. The theme works well in terms of productivity, and it belongs to the one-page philosophy, so the aim is making everything available in the most original way possible.
The white version is slightly different from the black one, and it brings a sort of hi-tech style I must say I love messing with, I hope you'll be pleased by the possibility of choosing between different version of the same design.
As always, thanks to @SeriouslyCrazy (+Andrew Gallagher) for the SC Blue Frameless Icon pack in the black version. The other 2 types of icons in the white version have been designed by me (first time, be kind LOL), but actually I'd like to give a thank to @blackbearblanc cause the idea came to me looking some of his icon sets (that i cannot use because they are paid ones) so I made them myself for the theme.
Thanks for all the support, you guys rock:good:

Thanks and Credits
I don't often use other themers/developers stuff, but when I do it, I always like to credit them. Ideas, inspiration are something that comes for free, but still they are the basics to realize anything creative. So I will give a general big thanks to all of the following, wonderful people.
@BRKotucs, for the help, and for being so friendly and helpful. Check his work out, it's just outstanding.
@SeriouslyCrazy, for letting me use his icon packs, for the infinite amount of set up he made, and to be so kind and friendly. His thread lies here.

Tips and Tricks
We all know that apply those kind of themes can be a very PITA :angel: By the way, there are some workarounds I learned, and I want to share them with you, because I know they will help you. I'll refer particularly to my themes, but sure they can be applied on any theme with the same situation.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
First: Wallpaper
I own a Galaxy Nexus (maguro), it means that I develop my themes on a 1280x720 screen resolution; as a consequence, the wallpapers I provide to you implie this resolution. What about if you own another device?
Well, there are basically two ways to fix this issue:
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
First: for pro users
-take a screenshot of your device screen, it will give you a perfect wallpaper with your screen resolution
-open that screenshot on a image editor, Photoshop, Gimp, whatever.
-Now, open the wallpaper as a level (assume that we are dealing with a 1280x720) onto your screenshot, and resize it accordingly.
done
Second: any user
-Dwonload one of these two applications, or you find a simalr one, use that one, it doesn't really matter
Wallpaper Wizardrii
or
Image2Wallpaper
-the point of both of these two applications is exactly size a wallpaper with a different resolution than your device.
-resize the wall accordingly
done
Hot spots, and clickable but invisible spots
A nice trick I learned is how to make an hotspot invisible, but still clickable. Suppose that we have a skin with a part we want it clickable, app drawer for example, take Circle Skin as reference.
You see the red circled app drawer icon? Well, that's not an icon, it's part of the UCCW skin, it means it's a bitmap pasted onto UCCW skin. You can either make it as an hotspot through UCCW, this way:
-touch the skin
-UCCW editor will open (*if nothing happens, it means you locked the skin! Go to UCCW app, click the three dots in the upper right screen corner/Lock widgets (hotpsot mode) MUST BE OFF
-now, find the your images, that app drawer icon in our example, and assign it an hotspot
modify objects/hotpost/choose what you need
You can also use another trick, and it works this way:
-place the icon you want to open clicking that very specific part of the skin, we want to open the app drawer, so I will place a Nova shortcut to open the drawer.
-of course the icon it's just unappropriate, we want it clickable, but invisible.
-in order to achieve this goal, long press on the icon or the shortcut/edit/choose an image from your gallery/apply the png available below
download
-this is nothing more than an invisible.png I made through an image editor
-select this ong as your new icon image, and voilà, the icon it's still there, but now it's invisible:good:
*NOTE: make sure that once you did that, the icon, the clickable but invisible one, it's emphasized (put in to the foreground), otherwise the skin will overlap it and it won't be clickable!
Click to expand...

Skins designed to match a wallpaper
It means, especially when it comes to me, that I often realize set up that involves a precise match between skins and wallpaper. This is a bit messy, especially when it comes to apply the skin on a different resolution device. What can you do? Well, my best advice is to play with grid size, and try to obtain a wallpaper the closest possible to the screenshot I provide you as a reference. Also, make sure to hide the parts I tell you, because if I developed the skin hiding my navbar, if you try to apply that very skin with your navbar visible, all the skins will make a step up, and the mismatch between skin and wallpaper will result hugely visible.
Last advice: yes, I know UCCW and ZW are scary for non expert users, at least the first time, but guys, I left you the skin fully editable, I didn't lock any of the elements, it means that with a bit of work you're virtually able to adapt my themes to WHATEVER resolution/device/situation. That's up to you, I can help by the way:good:

Nice mate, you did it It looks all OK, hotspot are not assigned, cause everyone use differents app's, it's up to you
Edit: weird for italian..I wonder why..well, you can reassign them, like the alarm one, just "manually edit" the text choose "system" and select alarm. Resize if needed..sorry for that, I thought zw would change all the elements according to the system language..I'll design my themes in english from now on!
