Hello All,
I have Samsung Galaxy Note I. While calling from viber I am able to here other party's voice but other party cant hear my voice. The ROM and Kernel details are as below.
ROM -
Paranoid Android Version 2.51
CyanogenMod Version 10.0.0 - RC0 - n7000
Kernel -
3.0.15 - CM - g39df795
[email protected] # 1
I used Hydracore v7 Kernel and faced the same issue but when i restored to Paranoid Android version 2.22 my viber is working fine. It is found that the Kernel version is different
Kernel -
3.0.15 - CM - g712c2c6
[email protected] #1
As I am facing this issue i cannot upgrade the ROM to 2.51. Is there any other kernel I can use which will help me to use the PA ROM 2.51 and viber is also working...
Awaiting for the reply
Thanks & Regards
Rahul
try any other recent rom as well and check if viber is working fine. If yes then might be an issue with the ROM. ask in rom thread,
try other apps like Skype etc to check if they also show the same symptoms to be very sure
Hi,
This is an official representative of Viber Media.
It sounds like the typical Custom ROM issue - some custom ROMs alter the microphone definitions of your phone, causing Viber not to recognize the phone's microphone properly. That is the reason that Viber cannot transmit your sound to the other side. We discussed this issue in detail with our users in this thread on XDA Forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25865775#post25865775
Please note that in that thread, a workaround was suggested *by a user* that seemed to have solved the problem for Galaxy S+S2 users.
Thanks,
Viber
Easy, Roll back to PA 2.5.0 and problem solved.
PA 2.5.1 has tons of bugs and issues.
Including it made ALL voice input not working regardless of what kernels
Like : Viber, Skype, Google Now, Whatsapp audio recording.
2.5.0 is far superior rom, blazing fast and no major issues at all.

At this stage, we don't support custom ROMs with Viber (except basic ones, like CM7 and MIUI). Running Viber on a customized ROM results in various side effects, some of which are severe, but unfortunately we can't afford to support ALL those ROMs at this stage. You might want to contact the ROM developers and ask if any adaptations could be made there in order to support Viber.
FYI - many times microphone problems (like the one you're experiencing) are caused by the fact that the ROM causes the phone to "think" that it's actually a different phone, resulting in a different usage of the phone's microphone by Viber. "Model Number" in "About" page sometimes reflects this issue - so please let me know what phone you're using, which Android version, and what's written under "Model Number" in your "About" page.
To all,
We (Viber) are about to release multilangual support for Viber at last!
Since we know that XDA's great advantage is having so many members from different places in the world, we would appreciate your help with translation to your personal language. This means adding missing translated lines, and confirming the existing translations previously added by users: http://translate.viber.com
Remember - we let the community of our users shape Viber and device what it looks like
If you have any questions please let me know. We thank you in advance,
the Viber Team.
So i will sat it again as i said it in the OP!
At the moment I'm using MIUI mintberry, BUT i tried viber an multiple roms like:
-stock jvt (flashed via odin)
-stock cyanogen
-stock MIUI
-cyanogen with platypus
-stock instanity CM
-insanity with platypus
-miui mintberry with platypus
theese with xxjvk zsjpg and bvjjpg modems
at the general section it says GT-I9000
IMEI is correct its the same as the one behind the battery
so i really dont understand whats the problem
i figured out i can activate with two activation code 4758 and 4759
please help!
When you say "stock MIUI and "stock instanity CM" you're basically saying that your Android is NOT stock. The definition of Custom ROM is installing any ROM that's not the original one you got from your cellular provider.
You can try and contact our support team at http://support.viber.com - they might be able to assist you further.
I said i tried it with stock JVT thats the original stock rom from samsung with stock kernel!
We are going to do our best with investigating this issue, but it is almost impossible for us to pinpoint the source of the problem if ALL of your phone's settings were stock.
All I can offer to you is to wait for our upcoming Viber 2.1.3 and see if the problem is resolved there.
so you re saying viber 2.1.2 is supposed to be working with the GT-I9000 and something s wrong with my device so ill kepp trying you not getting any wrong experience feedback from other i9000 users
On the contrary - Viber fully supports GT-I900, as written in our official website: http://helpme.viber.com/index.php?/.../View/100/0/cant-download-from-android-market
same problem as the OP here... any news about it?
I'm on Teamhacksung's ICS alpha 17 with semaphore kernel.
Hi,
If I understand correctly, you are using Galaxy S i9000 with a CM9 Custom ROM. Is that correct?

Correct.
If as "custom" you mean anything other than stock.
Have you tested Viber on Stock ROM on your phone? Does the problem persist even then?
I cannot get Google talk Video top work on my phone, I have litereally tried all variants of this app
heres my config
Kernel: Bigmem Glitch
ROm: AOkp M5
GApps: Latest version (25th april I guess)

Anyone who helps or even posts gets thanks from me
Try gapps for CM9 and/or Essentials MOD
Hi everyone.
I bought galaxy mini GT-S5570 couple of days ago especially to use programs such as viber or nimbuzz. But when I installed viber on my phone I had the problem that i can hear the person who calls but he cannot hear me . Obviously it is not a hardware issue. Coz the mic works perfectly on both phones when using regular calls. I saw a thread on this website on same issue but it was for Galaxy S i9000. But it did not work on my mini.
My device is rooted*
Anybody knows to solve this issue please let me know otherwise this android device will be useless to me.
Thank you
Hi,
This is a member of the Viber R&D team.
We are aware of this issue on some devices, and we are making the required adjustments to the new Viber voice engine.
We will release the new build 2.2 really soon, and we welcome you to keep us updated on the overall performance of Viber.
Let us know if you have any more questions.
Thanks,
Viber team
Hi guys anyway of fixing this problem ?
As we mentioned, we would recommend you to try out the upcoming version 2.2, and let us know if the problem persists on it.
All that while, please note that at this stage we don't officially support custom ROMs (or rooted devices) with Viber. Running Viber on a custom ROM results in various side effects (sometimes total lack of functionality), but we can't afford to support all custom ROMs out there. We are continuously working to adapt Viber to more and more ROMS, but meanwhile - you might want to contact the ROM developer for further support - they may be able to resolve this issue.

Hahaha...sorry but why don't support rooted devices?!? what it has to do the root with viber?!?
It is only a hypothetical, official statement that we make. Basically, you are right - it shouldn't have anything to do with Viber at all, however if Rooting is done badly, it could affect the whole phone's functionality.
And with the case of Custom ROMs - it's obvious how it can affect Viber

For the custom rom's i know is obvious in fact i don't i've asked, but the root don't can be made bad, basically are only some files that give the access to system, than the root it has nothing to do with viber.
I can't instal viber, play store says incompatible device...i downloaded apk from another site but installation doesn't work: application not installed!

Hello, I´ve just updatet my Liquid smooth rom and now i´ve got some Problems.
I´d like to post into the Thread but since i am not allowed to ( Can´t post , not enough Posts ) i´d like to ask you how you fixed it. I saw someone Posted he flashed the boeffla kernel to it and used boeffla sound to fix it but wheather version i download and install, i can´t use boeffla sound.
Please help me.
Specs
S3 LTE
Liquid Smooth 2.37 (4.3.1)
3.0.64 CM g25db0ff Kernel ( the [email protected] #1
Darkangel142
maybe you can flash a boeffle kernel and install the config apk
the newest version for 9305 is i9305-Boeffla-4.0beta1-by-hbohd-20-10-2013
this is the my favourite kernel
Hey, ,
i tried your solution, but the Kernel you´ve posted is for 4.1
The new Liquid Smooth is 4.3, so it got me on a Bootloop ( i fixed the loop, now im back on the prelisted Kernel )
Is there a Boeffla Kernel version for 4.3 with working Boeffla sound, or another Kernel (like Voodoo kernel on Galaxy S 1)
with a Sound app for the S3 LTE ?
Kernels are posted in development .
Problem fixed
Finally found the right version for the Phone with working sound fix for it. (and support for android 4.3)
I´ve tried the kernel´s from his homepage but those were diffrent versions of it ( no sound app support )
The only one working for me on newest Liquid Smooth to fix the sound issue is
i9305-CM10.2-Boeffla-2.0b2a-by-hbohd-26-10-2013.zip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2457052
After Flashing this the sound Problem is gone and you have several more options to configure the Kernel

@Darkangel142 did that also cure the in-call low volume issue?
because for the kernel and any options in the app only sorted the speaker volume...
thanks
No it didn´t,
The Phones Speaker and Headphones now do the normal sounds, but the Internal Phonespeaker ist still to quiet
I Noticed that one day later and since i´ve got my 10 Posts i could ask in the developement section but no reply to it till now.
Im trying some more Kernel´s today and let you know.

If I use a custom kernel with audio controls I always freeze the built in music processing app ie DSP manager just so it doesn't try and interfere as I've had some past problems with intermittent sound on custom roms.
I'm currently on cm10.1.3 with yanks kernel. That has the boeffla sound engine and with the boeffla sound app from the play store you can boost all volumes ie speaker and headphones plus a whole load of other options to tweak the sound.
Sent from my GT-I9305 using xda app-developers app
The low volume killed the ROM for Mr for now...changed to PAC and am happy...I keep watching...
Hi,
I'm using Paranoid Android (latest BETA3) and Mokee kernel, but this problem happened to me on EPRJ CM and on Omni too (Android 4.3) and on all other kernels too.
The thing is that all my calls get answered automatically on speaker (if someone calls me, not if I call someone), I first thought that it was an Xposed Framework problem but after deactivating it I still have the bug. I also thought it could be a Viper4Android one, but without installing it, it remains.
Anyway, if you have an idea about what can be causing it please reply. If there's no way to fix it, can I install CM RIL on PA (although I prefer EPRJ RIL).
Thanks in advance
SOLVED: I was using a profile app (similar to CM profiles and it was causing it), sorry opening the thread but it was turning me crazy.
