I do not like the new gallery in ICS. Is it possible to revert to the old style gallery?

I uninstalled mines and use this instead:
QuickPic
One of the first things I do with a new rom is delete Gallery and install Quickpic, which is 264388x better.

What rom u guys using? CM9 and peters roms are hybrid of official and sdk gallery is slow and scrolling is not smooth compared to roms build purely off official release

I'm running vhgomez's 1.3 at the moment, but it doesn't really matter. Google gallery has been outdone by Quickpic since the early gb roms.

If you still have your sdk rom zip, you can extract the apk and try to install will the new rom.

just now i have found the sdk rom and have extracted the apk ("GalleryNew3DGoogle")...but it doesn't install!
U have to use adb and push to system/app/

Use Root Explorer or ES File Explorer Free to copy the apk, navigate to System/App, mount as RW, paste the apk, set permissions, then reboot.
If it doesn't work after that, then the app probably needs specific framework structure found in the original rom. Some MIUI apps are like this and won't work with other roms.

The only problem with quickpic is that it will not sync with Google account. The stock ICS gallery is poop! Quickpic is awesome no doubt, but it could be better.

Extracted supernova rom and took the LG launcher and in heii´s download folder is the weather widget apk
Just move both to system/app
But the time seems to be wrong :/
For me the lg launcher force closes when adding a widget to the home screen, anyone?
Also i could not install weather widget, it gives and error and doesn't conclude the installation.

Uninstall both apps from your device and just push them to system/app without installing them. Then reboot your phone.
My explorer gives me an error that it doesn't allow me to move them to system/app, any idea?

Which explorer do you use? You need one with root access.
I have es explorer with root access and still it doesn't allow me to perform that operation.

I can't get this to work..I push both apks to system/app, wipe dalvik cache and reboot my phone..but once it's on I can't find the apps anywhere... If I check the folder with root explorer both apks are indeed in there..they just don't show up
The only way I got it to work was by installing both apps.. which was not a good idea as stated here
P.S.: I'm on Owain's 74 ROM

Maybe you have to fix the permissions of both apps via root explorer.
There has to be: rw-r--r--
hmmm..and how do I do that exactly?
Long press on the app -> permissions
You have to stick read read (-) in the first row
write (-) (-) in the second row
and nothing in the third
Than there has to be rw-r--r-- on the right corner of the app

You only get fc if you install the apps instead of pushing them to to system/app
Use the install guide on my first post and everything should work
But the widget only works with the new LG 3.0 launcher

Install Go Launcher Ex and launch it. Now use link2sd or es file explorer or any root uninstaller to delete your existing launcher.
NOTE: DO NOT delete your current launcher before installing the new one

if i use a stock rom and stock kernel +fw i see this button and i can use a LWP.

In addition to what saeed14i said....i would like to suggest that you convert your newly installed Go Launcher Ex to system app....you should have atleast one launcher as system app and as you're deleting the previous one, this is safer....
As far as the live wallpaper problem is concerned.......

You will find it in the miui rom, download the rom, open it with winrar and extract the gallery app from the app directory, copy iy to your app folder in system and set permisions. I don't know if it will work because on jb the camera and the gallery are in the same app but you can try.

and you moved, or renamed to Musicbin.apk et'c and overwritten?
In my case first i just moved - nothing changed, nothing new appeared, than i noticed that my Music/Calculator/Widget apps are named differently, not like in archive LGMusic.apk etc - so i renamed, and than overwritten - after i get FC on Music and other stuff....

Those app work perfectly just copy to the system folder and rename for the respective file. It works with qslide and dsp manager. Thanks.

how are you guys saying that they work ? the musicplayer.apk file has a parsing error even if placed in system/app it won't show up at all so it doesn't work and the music widget won't stop scanning so it's useless.
It works the music player, the widget the calculator with qslide and the photowidget

i tried it...you have to delete stock music player and music widget. same with other apps.. music player and widget is cool..btw thanks!
