[Q] Is firefox compatible with your devices? - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently went through post where it was mentioned that mozilla released firefox for armv6 devices(google it, its written everywhere) on monday and supported phones had galaxy ace in it but on playstore my galaxy acei is shown incompatible. Can you guys confirm if its working for you?

It is, but that doesn't mean it is up on the PlayStore yet, give the Developers some time.
Here, tested and working on my Ace

It's not possibility, it's a fact. Cyanogenmod team publicly stated that they won't release cm9/10 for armv6.

If you wan't to get official one, try this :
Go to nearestshopinyourplace.com
Search phonethatsupportcm10.com
Done.
You now able to get offcial CM10 without flashing, and downloading.
:laugh::laugh:
-------------------------------------------
Sorry, but mini will never get any perfect ICS/JB because mini not really as fast as a GalaxySIII.

Just read that JB (Andoird 4.1) will soon be available for ACE 2 (now still on 2.3.x)

Can we benifit from that on our older ACE?
Cheers
Simple question.
NO.
Ace is just a name.
Ace 2 and Ace have almost nothing in common.

No....
We are ARMv6.
They are ARMv7. And I also think the camera sensor is different as it supports 720p.
It has almost no connection to Ace 1 except for the name.
Samsung could make a new model with hexacore cpu, 8gb ram, 40mp camera, give it "ace 3" name and people will still request to port it just because it had similar name. Lulz
english please ,, i couldnt read the source

Development is going on for now...But it's epected to get an official update...But for root users some or the other dev of s2 community has to create a rooted and flashable version of it...The same thing has been done for galaxy tab 2 p3110 ...It's orignal ubuntu update has been released but with bugs...but the dev's and improved the orignal update by ubuntu and imprpoved it for better experience..After nexus 4 , according to me s2 is the most customizable device..

well, no problem :fingers-crossed:
official PATH also cannot be used from Galaxy Mini, but, with some minor "porting", VOILA !! my mini can use path.
i will look for a porting version of BBM, or i will porting it in myself
just wait and see (if anyone people can port this) :fingers-crossed:

It doen't work on my Mini2 either. It's running on CM10.1 (Android 4.2.2) so it has ARM v7. Any knows why or how it could be fixed or will be available for this in the near future?
Well, It the app is ported, it would be great. I though that It only needed android 4.0+ but it's not that.
my question is: how hard would it be to port it?

BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) Works Fine on Galaxy Mini S5570
It's nearly frustrated about getting BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) works on Galaxy Mini (S5570), and thinking of impossibility. But finally from now on the hope become reality. The Messenger has tested works fine on Galaxy Mini GingerBread 2.3.6 and Jelly Bean 4.2.2. You can check here -> masova30.wordpress.com - The post was Indonesian but available translate for many languages. The file was 11 MB so can't attached here. The Screen Shots attached.
Probably You can test it on another devices.
Good Luck

[Q] Do other ROMs allow new apps to be installed?

The Galaxy Ace normally doesn't support apps like Temple Run and such because of its hardware and OS. In some places I heard that upgrading to jelly bean would've allowed more compatibility. But I still can't even look up the apps on the Play store. Isn't there anything I can do to run previously incompatible apps on my Ace?

No. You can only look for some ported versions if the app only support armv7. If a app only support android 4.0 and up a update will help.

I see. Is there a reliable place for ported apps? If not, how can you be sure of which ones will work? I saw a guy post an APK for Temple Run claiming it worked on his Ace, but when I tried the app kept closing saying that it can't run.
