I was running JPH on my i9000m when it lost signal, froze up, and wouldnt boot past the i9000 splash screen. So I flashed JH2 on it, It then came up with the error: "E:Can't/b mount /devlock/stl10". It will get past the galaxy s boot up video but will hang into black. Its just like my 1st i9000 that didnt have 3-button recovery at the time, I had it replaced. But this one had 3-button recovery out of the box. I am surprised I cannot fix it ATM. I flashed different froyo builds on it and they came up with: "E: can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1". I have read that this has something to do with the filesystem of the phone being corrupt or something of that effect? Which makes sense, Since I did have a lagfix on it when It keeled over.
I hope someone can point me in the right direction
PS: I spent hours researching but I couldn't find anything that worked. I rarely post for help...buuuut, I'm kinda at a loss :S
PPS: I will be playing Dead Rising 2 early as I wait for responses
your phone is most likely toast, search around for similar problem, no one has been able to wipe or reset the internal sd card when this happens...its very frustrating, im on my second galaxy S because of this problem. the sooner you take it back the sooner you will have a new phone.
Flash jpc with 512 pit and reparation ticked.
Than you can go back to jph by flashing again without pit and without reparation.

Ya-no.
This will not work with this error code. Although, It has worked in the past with other errors.
I have a feeling I'm gonna have to get ANOTHER replacement....It probably won't be a DOA instant switch like last time though..augh....Loner-Phone, Here I come! :'(
I wonder...
Does Clockwork Recovery have a button combo? Much like regular recovery?

Hello
I had the same and i solved through the guide here:
http://briefmobile.com/how-to-android-2-2-on-galaxy-s
But i think the problem really was that i have make an ext2 partition on sd-card.
I removed the sd-card during flashing.
Works !!!!

Ok so i used this method to get my phone running again and it worked, which is why i said thanks. But the problem now is that i dont want to flash to jph and it keeps giving me the same error if i flash any other firmware.
Anyone know the soloution for this? All help appreciated thanks.
P.s I've been trying to flash back to lower firmwares so that i can update to froyo officially through kies.
Update:
Nobody seems to be helpful around here when i ask for help but thought id share with the people who have this problem in the future.
Try using a different pit file when flashing, as there are two types of pit files. If you need more details just pm me.
Hi Riverriz , what's jpc stand for?
Flashing JPC with repartition using 512 pit works!
My Internal SD working again just after flashing JPC, now go back to Doc's rom. Thanks.
guys what is JPC and how do you falsh with it im stuck with same issue any links ??
update: did this and the phone gets tsuck in a reboot loop tried two 512 .pit
Is the JPC rom you're talking about the one available on samfirmware.com that unpacks to "I9000XXJPC_I9000OXAJPC With new .PIT and ODIN"?
I've been trying to flash various roms all afternoon with different versions of Odin and different .pits and invariably I get either an stl10 error, an stl11 and mmcblk0p1, or just an mmcblk0p1 error.
The mmcblk0p1 error seems to be pretty much finito as far as these phones are concerned but I was hoping that the fact that various roms would give me the stl10 error from which other people had been able to recover meant that there was still hope.
Is there a possibility for recovery from where I'm at?
I have problem like that on my galaxy tab. i didn't find answer on briefmobile, and i'm very afraid that i broke my device. so please, somebody, tell, how to solve this problem

I am in a similar situation. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I tried to install Doc's JPU rom with the CWM JPU kernel and now I seem to be chasing partitions that can't mount etc.
Thanks,
David
I eventually gave up on this - it wasn't going to fix itself regardless of what I did.
JPC with the 512 PIT worked for me. Now my I9000 is flying again.
am sry if this is a repost i actually searched but couldn't find a post ,
well i flashed my galaxy tab with gingerbread 2.3 everything seems fine but the only problem is that the internal sd card memory just shrinked to 209 mb instead of 16 gb plz any help would be appreciated
Let's see if I can help you, but first can you provide more details on what actual version of GB you flashed and how you flashed it (ODIN or official signed zip)?
first of all i tried the honeycomb by spacemoose1 and after the reboot just got a blank screen so i then flashed this file P1000XXJQ1_P1000XXJQ1_P1000XXJPZ_HOME.tar with P1_EUR.pit as pit file which should have gave me the gingerbread and it does but the 16gb just shrinked to 209 mb
from where u got this pit file ? is not for this rom and for ginger
u need to flash stock froyo with pit to solve this bloody issue and then pleas use one of samfirmware.com gb roms without pit file as inside the tar "rom" there is pit file
chhers
Sort of what I was going to suggest...

thanks bro for ur advice , but all am confused of now is finding the right froyo stock rom with compatible pit file , cuz don't wanna loose my tab for another foolish trial , may u help me on this , and thanks in advance
i got this link hxxp://droidangel.blogspot.com/2011/05/all-samsung-galaxy-tab-froyo-22-and.html but it has a lot of versions and firmwares am i supposed to choose one of them if yes , according to what am i supposed to shoose it ?or just anyone of them will work ?
i think that P1000JPJis wat i need since am in arabic region, will it b fine to flash this version of froyo ?
Personnally I would go for the P1000XWJJ7 (not the NEW) which appears to actually be JJ5. I found that Kies actually recognized this as a valid version.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
so u prefer that i go for the P1000DDJJ5 P1.PIT Version 2.2 October 2010 ?
is this wat u meant by (not the NEW)?
On the list from the link that you sent there are two XWJJ7 roms - I recommend the 1st one; I've tried them all and this was the best one with an unlocked bootloader.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
ok after i get the rom what is the best way to flash it ?
open odin, load it in the pda area , check repartition and hit start , after finishing wipe the cache and do hard reset from the recovery mode , that's it ? don't i need to load a certain pit file ,
also i've been told that pit file is used to repartition the internal memory of the tab so wondered if there a certain pit file that can repartition my tab
Yes, except that you should use the associated PIT (P1_add_hidden ) file for that rom as that was probably what went wrong last time - the internal memory wasn't partitioned correctly for the GB release.
did the whole process as k0sh said still the same problem ,the firmware is working perfectly and smooth btw i realized the device memory (1.19gb ) is intact and working all the problem in the USB storage memory instead of being12.8 gb it is 209 mb
Did you flash a stock Froyo release together with the associaated PIT file and with Re-Partition ticked, using Odin3 v1.70?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
ya i did exactly what u r saying but unfortunately still 209 mb :S:S
Mmmm.... my next step then would be try and flash a safe stock gingerbread rom as provided by the Overcome development team. Don't flash the overcome rom itself (unless you want too) but just flash the safe stock GB to see if it returns your onboard SD memory.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
and that's exactly what i did and it solved the whole sh*t , thanx man for helping throughout this issue, and of course thanx to the overcome team for such rom
Glad to hear it, enjoy.
Hello all,
During my travels in China, I picked up a GT-I9228G galaxy note.
Back in the UK now, and hoping I could change the rom to the english varient of GT-N7000? I am assuming GT-I9228G and GT-N7000 is the same device, just different regional roms(?).
The boot screen is chinese. It has chinese apps on it which I cant remove and no app store amongst other things. Ideally, would like to make the phone all english. Is this possible?
Just a bit of background on me:
I used to own a HTC PDA which I swap roms from developers here and very familair with jail breaking on apple products. Andriod however is new to me. I am a quick learner, so any pointers would be great please guys/gals.

I guess you could... Lots of other people bought their galaxy note from Hong Kong and also from china and they all changed their ROM for a same reason of yours.
Does not the 9220 using a snapdragons and not exynos? I not sure but I thing I have read it somewhere so carefully before flashing.

So, potentially I could just change to the one below?
N7000XXKKA ## 2.3.6 2011 November N7000CPWKK3 United Kingdom (Carphone Warehouse) Download
The box says 1.4 + <insert chinese characters here>
From wiki -A dual-core 1.4Ghz Exynos processor or a 1.5 Ghz Snapdragon S3 processor (AT&T, SK Telecom, KT, LG U+)
So my guess is Exynos. Anyway to double check?
ok, so I have downloaded the above rom and Odin3 v1.83 from sammobile.
I have opened Odin3 and specified the PIT file (Q1_20110914_16GB)
I have also ticket re-partition, auto reboot and F.reset timer.
I have loaded the rom under PDA (N7000XXKKA_N7000CPWKK3_N7000XXKK5_HOME.tar), everything else is unticked.
I have the phone in download mode ready.
I just need to know if the above is ok or am I missing anything before I click START and brick my phone?
Thanks,
Chris.
well I tried anyway.
That didnt work.
Now the phone says "software update fail"
I can still get into download mode, buts thats about it.
tried with and without the PIT file.
Anyone know what I should do now please?
I'd say you'll have to find a rom for that model
maybe http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9220&r=2#regiona
You might have bricked your phone by checking repartition in odin. You should not have. Now you probably need to find a pit file for your model.

If you could enter download mode then try these steps
1. Open Odin and flash Pit file only and Re-partition ticked. (do not attach any ROM)
2. After this again flash ROM without pit file and re-partition un-ticked
This should work.

Thanks,
The first part seemed to work ok, so then went onto flashing again without the PIT file. Failed
Back to square one (software update fail message).
Going to try the original ROM, but takes about 6 hours to download from china!.
Ideally, really dont want to use the original ROM though! I'm guessing the original ROM isnt going to work now anyway since ODIN3 has re-partitioned the device(?).

Oh, I forgot to mention. I read somewhere (forgot where) that I should root the device prior to changing the ROM. Is that true? If so, I dont think thats something I can do in current state

CWM is clockworkmod right? Dont I need a rooted phone in order to install it?
Or do I follow something like this? http://whatareandroidphones.net/root-samsung-galaxy-note.html
Yes... CWM recovery doesn't need root.
hello,
Didnt have the time to work out CWM, but was given a link to another rom which had three files for ODIN3 (http://hotfile.com/dl/149302861/1896440/N7000XXLA6_N7000XEULA1_XEU.rar.html).
So, loaded the above and the phone is back in action on a N7000 rom. Wohoo. Just glad it's working again more then anything else lol!
This rom is prerooted apparently too. know idea what I should be able to do now. What does one usually do when they have a rooted device?

Thread accidentaly revived :S
Respected Seniors. First off, I apologize for opening a new thread because i could not find answers to my queries in suggested threads
Some of my seniors know my problem and for those who don't know, I got superbricked while recovering Nand backup using an ICS Kernel. As soon as I wiped and factory reset my Note, its gone. Anyhow, i revived my phone using ADB method (Huge thanx to Forest1971 and hg42 ). I was good to go except lossing 3 GB space, which has since been a pain in *** and living with the knowledge that my Note is incomplete, is difficult for me. During the process, my binary count also rose to 5. So in order to claim my warranty, this is what i did:-
I upgraded from Stock GB to JPLPD- ICS. Than I rooted my Note and used Chainfire's Triangle Away (Special thanx to Chainfire) to reset my binary count from 5 to 0. After that i uninstalled Triangle Away and unrooted my phone. Now the position is :-
1. Galaxy Note is running:-
a. Android 4.0.3
b. Baseband Version N7000XXLPT
c. Kernel Version 3.0.15-N7000JPLPD-CL643396 #3 SMP PREEMPT thu May 31 16:09:57 KST 2012.
2. The Note's Internal Memory space is 8.24 instead of original 11.3 or something.
3. Custom Binary Count is NO or O and Rom Version is : Samsung Official
4. The phone is unrooted and all apps requiring root access are gone.
Dear seniors, two questions are solicited now with respect:-
a. Will Samsung be able to detect the mess i have been doing with my Note now if i claim warranty?
b. Is there any plausible reason to explain Samsung how I lost 3 GB space? because i have just planned to tell them that i upgraded from GB to ICS through kies, during which phone restarted few times and once finally completed upgrade, i found out 3 GB space missing.
Guidance in this regard will be thankfully appreciated.
Today I visited Samsung CSC here in Pak and after having a look at my warranty, they didn't even had a look at my phone and dropped this shell over my head saying, " You have purchased it from Saudi Arabia?", i said, "Well yea" , they replied, "Its a limited warranty, claimable only in Saudi Arabia". Booom. Game Over.
I don't understand about the "losing 3gig" bit. Something has been downloaded to a system area? In that case can't it just be removed once the device is rooted?
I know about Linux but I'm still trying to figure out the inner workings of Android, so maybe I'm off the mark.
-- Sent from my phone using technological wizardry
i think will cost a charge from samsung....
Flash the original PIT file (can find from hg42 thread) then the partitions of your phone will be back to original stage again, and it will be in the brick condition again (as before you revived it). cheers.

ADB method when used compelled me to segregate bad areas of emmc, i had to re-partition the factoryfs.img, Data and UMS by bringing them ahead of the corrupted blocks. Thats y i lost 3 GB. Practically, the space is there but being unpartitioned, i will not show up.

Now this sounds a gr8 idea
thank you dear forest. You always come to my rescue but just to be clear, in order to me to show its bricked, should i just flash the original PIT and thats it? or i should also install GB rom which would be bound to stuck at factoryfs.img. Also, please tell if even stuck at factoryfs.img would odin cause increase in binary count or not
thanks again
Should flash PIT file together with the official ICS (flash official roms will not cause yellow triangle), since it is the cause of the brick which happened while you update from GB. cheers.
Okie. So here I am, just to update and advice fellows something:-
I visited Samsung CSC today and tried to claim my warranty showing them my bricked phone Before having a look at my phone, they checked my warranty and replied that Since I purchased this set from Saudi Arabia, I cannot claim it in Pakistan because it has got a limited warranty. They further said that in order for me to repair the phone, i have to bear all the cost. After lots of arguing, i said, "Thanks but no thanks" and left out.
Here are my expressions:-
1. I have to live without 3GB space until Samsung does something for superbricked Notes due to emmc bug.
2. Never buy a phone outside your country, even if u find it a little cheaper than ur home country.
3. Be very careful in installing custom roms. Always flash from Stock GB or safe kernels.
Brick or no brick, you cannot claim warranty. Stick with your crippled storage space until you find a way to claim warranty from KSA.

I have been around the xda forums for a while, but never got to register. Anyway, I am not a complete noob neither am I a dev, let's say an electro fan. My sister just bought a brand new junk S5570, she has been having trouble with the very limited internal memory that is already fall of bloatware, even SMSs could not be displayed due to the shortage of memory, I tried to move everything to the SD with no chance, Samsung's shtware is there to stay. I decided to install CM7.2 which I had already successfully installed on many handsets. I rooted the ****5570 and have been having trouble installing CWM because Odin v4+ just doesnt detect the phone what ever I do, use different drivers with no luck at all, but the weird thing is that its detected by Odin v1.85, I accidentally flashed cwm.tar using Odin v1.85 and now the only thing I can access is download recovery mode (not recovery mode). Now Odin still detects it, I want to know how to flash a stock firmware using Odin v1.85, please guys help me I'm in a really embarrassing situation and my sister is not aware of what happened, she has been dreaming about an android phone for ages and it's certainly devastating to see her beloved phone turned into a paperweight please help me guys and quick
I think v3.xx would work as well

ONLY 4.38 will work. Other Odin versions can mess up the phone. Go to samfirmware.com, download s5570 stock ROM for your country, get Odin 4.38, tass.ops and flash. After it flashed, hold home+power until stock recovery comes up, then wipe data and you will have a stock ROM.

I thought that the suffix "i" indicates its region, just like Sony does, for example ST25i means international, while ST25a indicates america
samsung is totally different from sony
