Thanks for the heads up. Got the royal blue Active. Now I can get rid of the $3 case I got from amazon.

Anybody have any comments about the Active case and how it works with screen protectors? I seem to be having an issue where some of the cases I have purchased peel up my screen protector and ruin them because they reach over the front of the screen edge too much, so before I drop 40 bucks on the active/holster combo, wondering if anyone could chime in.

I haven't seen this on my Surface holster/case...otoh I wish the Surface combo did a better job covering the entire screen. 1/4" horizontal gap all the way around the perimiter of the top between case and holster and 1/8" gap vertically.

The Active case works just fine with a screen protector. The silicon fits well, but it is not too tight, so it will not lift the screen protector. This is the advantage of using a case with silicon on the inside and a hard plastic shell on the outside.

Ordered mine from Android Central (which is in Florida) with there black friday coupon. Since I'm in Texas and so is Seidio It came out cheaper this way. No taxes ftw!

Do u thinks they have tpu cases for this phone in the kiosks in the mall. Need something to hold me over until I can get mine from eBay. All they sell at the carrier stores are flip covers for 50 bucks.

I bought the JKase Premium Quality Samsung Galaxy Note II 2 GT-N7100 Streamline TPU Case Cover - Retail Packaging - Clear from Amazon. It was cheap and I was able to get fast 2 day shipping with Prime. (can't post a link yet since I am new)
This case and my Note 2 will be arriving tomorrow. I hope the case will be enough to hold me over until a better deal comes about on a name brand case. I'll be pairing this with a Spigen screen protector.
Im using the white and grey case mate case from at&t. The reason, I billed it to my company.

Same here. I also have the Proclips mount in my car, meaning I have to take the case off to use it. The Body Glove case comes off and goes back on very easily.
Also bought the body glove one from sprint. Was worried about cases and adding bulk but this seems to be minimal and my phone doesn't feel like it's going to slip out of my hand every time I hold it.

I went to several Sprint locations, and none of them had the body glove case. I was also hoping to get something with a belt clip.
The only case I found locally in stock for my Note 2 was at the AT&T store and it was a white/grey CaseMate with a built in kickstand I think it cost $38 and did not come with a screen protector. Wish Otterbox made a Commuter style with built in kickstand for the Note 2.
Case
I bought the Ringke SLIM Soft Feeling Premium Hard Case. It's slim. adds very little bulk while protecting at the same time and got it off of amazon for 10.99 on sale from 25.00. I added the Spigen SGP Ultra Oloephobic screen protector and it's totally protected. I love them both.......
Have this:
http://www.amazon.com/Cruzerlite-An...6902&sr=1-2&keywords=cruzerlite+galaxy+note+2
Goes really well with the Titanium Gray Note 2.
$5 Ionic Position folio-style case off of Amazon. Offers good protection, looks good, and doesn't have a magnetic closure (huge!).
I just purchased a Seidio Active-like case off of Amazon to use until the Seidio Active combo either comes down in price or shows up at Best Buy for 2/3rds of what it costs now.
I also just returned an Amzer Shellster because it was a piece of crap that broke three days in. Spending $6 to return an item that I'll get $14 back for, after spending $5 initially to have it shipped. Really thrilled about Amzer's customer service policies.

Generic screen protector good as any premium

I just wanted to share this very cheap screen protector i bought off ebay. I originally had the one from the sprint store that covers the screen only but the s pen scratched it everytime. I bought these and it covers a good part of the front unlike the sprint one. Ive had it for a week and used the s pen ALOT and not one scratch. If i had to compare it to one id say its as good as the one that comes with the UAG cases. Its very clear the screen is very responsive. I posted some pics along with the seller. I really think everyone would be happy with these protectors

I used the XtremeGUARD protector on my screen (not full-body) for about a week while waiting for SGP protectors to come in. The S Pen marked the protector up badly. Use those XtremeGUARD protectors--and any wet-apply protector--only if absolutely necessary on the Note 2.
I would agree if we didn't use the s-pen. It only seems fluid if the screen is naked, or I am using a ultra crystal screen protector. Then, it's almost slippery. Now if I could not get dust underneath AND line it up right, I would be happy. Very difficult with this damn enormous screen, lol.
I ordered two sets of these a couple days ago before seeing this post, now I'm excited to receive these I had ordered some ikross branded ones from amazon two weeks ago which turned out to be crap, hopefully these are a lot better.

I agree with the OP. This screen protector is excellent and does not scratch with the S pen like the Sprint store screen protector. I did have to sacrifice one when applying because of dust under the screen and there is still two microscopic one on the second screen protector but it does not bubble up so I am leaving it there.

Screen Protectors

What are the best options for screen protectors right now? Has anyone tried the spigen ultra crystal for the g2, i have had good experiences with them in the past. I know that with my galaxy nexus the glass was curved so much that a normal screen protector couldn't fit across the entire screen and the wet apply screen protectors were a mess and looked horrible. Does the g2 have the same problem?
I was wondering the same thing. Anyone bought a screen protector they're happy with? Not a big fan of the wet application type
I used one of the wet application ones from Phantom Skinz (sp?) on my Nexus. It worked so well that I plan on ordering one for the G2.
I actually got the ones from T-Mobile and was quite surprised on how much I like them! They are a dry application, very easy to install, not sticky at all (feel very much like the natural surface before the screen protector), and what I like most...very, very clear and fingerprint and smudge resistant. The only downside is they are a little bit more than I usually spend on screen protectors, $17 for 2.

Wow that seems like a good sign, the best screen protector is one that you can't tell is on the phone. I'm curious, how much of the screen does it cover and do you have any pictures of it installed that you could share?
I got the only one that AT&T stocked. It's a glossy as opposed to an anti glare but the fit and finish is spot on and I can't even tell it's there. Very pleased.
/except for the glossy part
I picked up a few screen protectors from xtreemguard .com. pretty much the same thing as best skins ever. Used code fall80 for 80 percent off. Order was 3 bucks for shipping and two screen. Shipping was fast. Not amazing but definitely the best under $10.
I'm currently rocking the XOSkins wet application screen protector and like it so far.

I have the iloome flex tempered glass screen protector on order so I picked up the Supershieldz off ebay (6 for $5 shipped) as a hold over. They're dry application, fit well, and have decent clarity. Probably not terribly different from most plastic films, but man it hazes up from fingerprints like nothing else. I cleaned it off today with rubbing alcohol and it has already picked up some mild scratches. Guess you cant expect too much for less than a buck per screen protector.

I use the Spigen Ultra Crystal. My third phone whith them. Would not use any other. It actually seems just a tad small but I guess that leaves room for a case. It leaves about an 1/8 of an inch around the sides.
I use to pay the big money for ZAGG. When I bought my G2 (9/12) there wasn't anyone that had screen protectors, so I bought the 3 pack from VZW. I still have the first one on, and no issues. Paid like 10 bucks. It works fine for me.

I bought the overpriced crap from Verizon and they just peeled up with the gel case I bought from them too. Ordered the 80% off xtreme skins or whatever they're called and they're great. Fit nicely under the case. Only gripe I have is the screen isn't as slick as the ones from Verizon or the actual screen.
Well this time I just tried a bit different.... its not Zagg one...its not Spigen..but this time I tried Privacy at Fommy.....
heard a lot about it from one of my friend and after wearing it on my G2.. I can say that the thing it says..it delivers..now I can easily check out my official mails at crowded place and am not worried about the guys standing around me as its not visible to them..that is something I really like about it and moreover it is very finely gripped on the phone and does not even give the feel as If I have placed something on the screen.....I know its quite new one but I am liking this product...
Go with the iloome tempered glass protector I had one on my note 2 it works great and it curves to the edges

what case are you guys using ?
I am using the samsung's official s-view case and I dropped my phone the other day and now i have a dent on the top and bottom outter corners on the metal frame since this case does not protect it well....
i am looking for suggestions for a thin case that covers the body and have s-view window...
any suggestions ?
Spigen bounce for me. Its thin and form fitting around all the corners. Only problem is 2 color choices, black and grey (light black).
Costs more than a generic tpu case but it looks and feels better.

I could have told everyone about the spigen neo hybrid from my experience with their S4 case. It's one of the most overrated cases on the market, I'm not sure why people love it so much.
It looks and feels much cheaper in person than in pics and it makes the phone much bulkier and wider than it needs to be. And it's ridiculously overpriced for what it is.
Thumbs way down, I will never buy a spigen again.

Cool. What about screen protection??
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I'm using an iSmooth screen protector. Application was the smoothest of any screen protector I've used so far - but I don't know how much of that is just practice applying them. The screen looks beautiful, with no rainbow patterns, and grease resistance is good (the Spigen ones I used before on my original note, I had a harder time of applying, and both Crystal and Oleophobic ones accumulated grease like nobody's business, particularly the supposedly oleophobic one, and the crystal had slight rainbow patterns visible in the right light).
As for cases, I'm not using one; I don't like the added bulk from them - I instead used Sugru to mold little bumpers directly on the corners of the phone. The corner around the S-Pen is kinda tricky, since there's what looks like a mic on the long side, and very little space between the pen and the speaker on the bottom. I used 3 little pieces of sugru around there. I also put a little bumper below the volume rocker, so I can quickly find the volume buttons when the phone is in my pocket. The sugru comes off cleanly (scrape it off with a fingernail). It lasts pretty well, but it will need to be redone at least once during a two year contract, more if the phone is handled roughly.
Thoughts on the S view case?
I think Im mostly concerned with the glass cracking than anything else...
Right now i am rocking the Incipio DualPro case and am waiting for a case from Cuzerlite to come in.
I got the Tudia Melody and it's perfect. 8 bucks to boot. It adds a nice grip to the phone and covers up the chrome lining on the front. You know the part that looks terrible even with a minor scuff? No screen protection except for the raised edges.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda app-developers app
If you want protection and don't mind added bulk the Otterbox Defender is the only way to go. I personally have large hands and prefer the thickness and bulk the Defender adds. Plus you can throw it at a wall and it will not hurt the phone. The built in screen protector is hard plastic and will protect from most surface scratches. Of course direct impacts to the screen will almost always break it on large device like this and there is no case or protector that protects from direct impacts. So for screen protection you just have to take what you can get.
For me the Ottorbox has been the only way to go for my last five phones.
@Solarenemy68 while last year me would agree with you, I found another case company called trident with a similar design. There a bit cheaper too (price not quality!!) long story short, mine came today and it is amazing. Has a built in metal kickstand. zagg glass screen protector! no halo!

Just wanted to update everyone that I purchased the zagg glass screen protector from Verizon for 35$ and it's the best money spent on this phone. No halo, perfect fit and not only that they have good customer service for the price. If this thing cracks all I have to do is call them and they send me out a replacement that same day.
So let's stop with these threads about the best glass screen protector and just spend 35$ for this thing because it's worth it for the price of this phone and it's Good knowing you can get in contact with them right away to get a replacement if anything happens.
Is there a gap between the end of the screen and the protector? Can't tell if the Note 5 glass is flatter than the Note 4. Thanks
I have the HD glass and I have a halo. However the only case that Best Buy had left was a Defender so I think it's lifting the sides of the glass a little.

I went through several "cheapies" from Amazon ($7-$10 range) for my GS6 but none would stick all the way down on the edges. Always had that halo effect. I would return them all for a refund, but was still frustrating. I decided this go around to drop the money for the Zagg (plus a 25% discount at VZW) and glad I did. This think is much better than those ~$7 ones on Amazon.

So after a failed attempt with a BodyGuardz Pure (really bad halo around both long sides and the bottom, on not one but 2 separate shields tried), ATT let me switch to Zagg. This one is pretty much perfect. Covers a large part of the screen (more than BodyGuardz), and best of all, no halo. Woot.

Don't get it from bestbuybestbuy. Heard it has a blue tint anyway. Get it from Verizon. Also if it's not lined up perfectly you'll prob get a halo in the corner. I installed my girlfriend's and went a little too high, slight halo in right corner only. Have to get a replacement for her =(

Do you just buy it at a verizon store? Or do you have to buy it online?
I got mine from Best Buy and you can only see the blue tint if you hold it at an angle and in direct sunlight. It has no affect on the screen quality or anything. The Zagg has no halo, its cut very precise so you have to really take your time lining it up.
ATT store has it as well. They did mine, and it's slightly off to the right, but there is no halo at all.
