Cyanogenmod
The first thing I did was flash Cyanogenmod 10 one of the nightly builds. You can find these on their website. Then I flashed the play store apps. After to get maximum amount of storage I formated my SD card via cwm recovery. After you finish this the next thing you wanna do is settings--->security----> unknown sources. U wanna make sure there is a check in the box. Then enable USB debugging mode by settings---> devolper options----> check USB debugging mode. It will give a warning ignore and just press OK.
*If you want the greyish blue theme as seen in the notification screenshot its angel theme installed using theme chooser
* the city background is a cm default wallpaper
GMD
Next I installed GMD app. By using this app I get to use gestures similar to the iPad. This app requires root access so allow superuser access when you first open the app.
Windows 7
Install launcher 7 via browser because the play store will tell you its incompatible. To get your system background back look in launcher 7 settings. The menu button is in the screen to the left. To get more stock looking kind of tiles search Google or I could load some just make a request.
*this app does not require root
Multitasking bar
To get the multitasking bar the app is called dock4droid to get a second one at the same time its an app called dialdock which you have to install via browser as well because of incompatible error. One bar I use for recent apps and the other I use as quick launch apps
*this app does not require root
This is my first tutorial so please jus respond with anything u like, dislike (besides spelling), any other requests

I Like this my friend , Good Job":good:

So do I.
I'll give it a try soon and let you know

Can you give a link to the theme you were able to apply? Using the nightly from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791975
The themes I tried give the error "This theme was improperly compiled..." so it seems I can't get any themes to work.

So I tried...
And if I had no pb to download and install the apps, its now hard to get the result I see on your post.
Can you please give more details ?
Thanks in advance

Can you link me to where you downloaded Launcher 7? Can't seem to find where to get it outside the Play Store. Thanks.

I got it. Had to install it on my Shift and copy it from internal memory. Here's the download link from my Dropbox:
http://db.tt/RHYyiROY
Free version so not warez.
Honestly, I like the look but limited options. Went back to Nova Prime for gestures and other tweaks. Hopefully I can find a similar tiles app and if anyone knows of one, please post it.

incompiled improperly
ok so if you tried to apply the theme and you got an error about how the theme is incompiled properly do this
1: backup using rom manager/cwm recovery
2: change lcd density to 140. u can use rom toolbox
3: after the reboot try to apply the theme again and click apply anyway
after this it should be properly installed. u can change the lcd density back but i believe i still have it at 140
flop13 all neccessary info is in the first post if your still having trouble can you send me a screenshot of your homescreen and settings info
ps thanks for the feedback and sorry for the late response

Hi,
Ok, my fault... I didnt install the good "launcher 7"...
But I have some questions...
- How to customize tiles pictures ?
- Does it work in landscape mode ?
- Is it possible to gather apps in a tile ?
- And for the multitasking bar... i'm lost
Great job !!
Thanks

To customize tile pictures like phone SMS and Facebook etc
1 hold the tile till it pops up and press the little pencil/pen
2 slide to customize menu and turn every thing off except background images
3 choose a custom design from the attachment or search the web for some more
4 when done press modify tile
Landscape mode is a little buggy so I keep it in portrait but to activate landscape mode
1 go to launcher 7 settings found in the app drawer
Then unclick orientation lock
If u mean make folder tiles by gather apps yes this can be done by launcher 7 settings then there is a slide menu called folders. Make your folder there then add it by going to app drawer-->menu-->add special tile
Multitasking app is a little tricky
Dock4droid can b downloaded from the play store but dial dock can't so search the apk on Google. Once you get it play around with the settings to your liking

[Q] [NOOB] Missing Messaging Icon from undertray

Hello everyone,
I'm a recent user of a SGS... I've been using it for 4 days... installing apps... getting used to android etc...
Today I've noticed that the Messaging icon/shortcut that used to be on the undertray, near to the Applications icon, is missing...
How can I restore it? What have I done to make it go away?
This is the missing icon:

When I drag it... the dock (lower bar?) turns into "Remove" with a trash bin icon.... and the shortcut disapears...
Any other thoughts?
Boas You have to long press the dockbar and you will have the option to add or change a shortcut, the apps shortcut cant be changed.
it depends what launcher your running. if you have sgs tools go into that and upgrade stock apps and select upgrade twlauncher and find one that has tw launcher + 5 icon dock.
the standard tw launcher is only 4 icon dock. 1 of them icons being the application which isnt removable.

TMN?! My advice is when you have a little spare time read some tutorials about changing roms and as soon as you feel ready change to a custom rom... Tmn is very laggy, its a completely different experience.

thanks for the advice I need to spend some time reading the HOW TO's in order to atempt doing it... What ROM do you advice?
If I got it clear... I need to root the device and be shure that the 3 button download works... (it works the digging droid came up)...
Need further reading...
Its very easy actually,
First you should(have to) unlock you phone (sim carrier). i think theres a method that works... or you can buy a code on samfirmware. very cheap...
I use darky´s rom and i recommend it, super stable and fast. Just go to development area and you will see it, he has all the instructions for a new install and he explains it very well, just follow his instructions.
Hey guys, got the solution to this problem. click on the icon that goes to the application. then do the Edit the homescreen panes with pinch zoom out gesture • standard edit mode. Drag the message icon to the under tray bar. and thats it.

You don't need the SPB launcher to get that theme. The 3D stuff in the middle is just that certain launcher. What you want is the notification bar theme right? I don't have it myself, as I don't use those themes, but I would suggest using the UOT kitchen and you can cook it yourself. It's pretty easy to figure out and get your own themes up and running.
http://uot.dakra.lt/
I took some time and threw together what I THINK you're looking for... it was actually quite a bit more work than I thought it would be, but I just tested this out on my Nexus S (i9020a) on the latest CM7.1 Nightly (b. 180) and it worked fine.
I'd recommend backing up your Androidian.apk just in case something goes wrong, or even a full nand backup. You'll need to push this apk to /system/app and make sure permissions are set properly.
Here's what I did to set it:
1 - Use Root Explorer (or another file manager with root access) and go to /system/app
2 - Make sure the directory is mounted as RW
3 - Rename Androidian.apk to Androidian.apk.bak
4 - Browse to where you saved the modified APK on your SDCard and Copy/Move the modified apk to /system/app
5 - Set permissions (rw-r--r--)
6 - Reboot phone.
7 - Once phone is back up, go to Theme Manager and select Androidian.apk and apply.
8 - Hope it works for you like it did for me
I really like this a LOT. I've been thinking about requesting for it too. Can I add to the request please?
@tehgeekguy - Can you modify it further to remove the horizontal dividers in lists? Especially in sms and the menu lists. Pretty much like Minimalbread and Lucid. Please?

You mind taking a screenshot of what you mean? To be honest, I don't use themes at all, but I could tweak it how you'd like if you can show me what it is you're wanting changed.
Hello, Im hoping to remove all those white lines. Especially in messaging. That horizontal divider in message list or menu items. Please see attached image.

I THINK I got what you're wanting. I attached two screenshots with what I've managed so far. This will basically remove those bars from anywhere they'd normally show up (Settings menus, Messaging app, pop up menus, etc...). The screenshots show the Settings menu and the Power menu (I clear my messages daily so nothing in Messages to show but a black window).
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten it to work in a theme yet, but I can get it working with a morph, or you can yank the files and merge them manually if you know how, it's not too difficult. I'll keep poking around the theme files and see if I can get this put into the one I uploaded earlier. The morph is NoDividers.zip (attached).
WOW! This $hi+$ AMAZING! I can't THANK YOU enough! Best thing about this morph is that I can use ANY theme without those pesky dividers! Really NEAT man!
I really recommend this to anyone who love David's MinimalBread and Sonny Sekhon's Lucid.

Hello Xda!
This is my new app DeskBar Launcher. It creates a bar at the bottom of the screen of your Android device and can even replace your virtual buttons Home, Recent Apps and Back. Back button needs root for the moment but soon accessible with no root for all 4.1+ devices). If you have physical buttons or want to keep your stock ones, there's an autohide option much like bar you can find on Windows, Linux, etc.
Features :
-add shortcuts to your favorite apps on the bar or in the StartMenu
-can replace your virtual buttons (optional Menu button will need root. Back button too except if you have Android 4.1+)
-music controllers to pause/go to next/previous song in any apps
-volume controllers
-lock button to minimize accidental input of your bar and soft buttons
-(Experimental)(ROOT) Fullscreen button
-access all your apps in StartMenu as well as categories such as Pictures, Music, Settings, etc.
-launch search, lock screen or shutdown(ROOT) your device from the StartMenu
-Customize the appearance of your bar and menu.
Future features:
-Folders
There's a 10days-trial version available here : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stephapps.deskbar
And the license key at $2.49 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stephapps.deskbarkey
Don't hesitate to post all your questions, suggestions, or if you encounter any problem!
Hello a big update (1.2) is coming, Here's the changelog:
Change log 1.2
-added optional menu button
-added search button and power button in startMenu( lock screen, (root) shutdown/reboot )
-added new customization tab in options for deskbar, startmenu, startButton
-added default icons for first time launch
-fixed bug with icons not sizing correctly sometimes in startMenu
-added personalized shortcuts in startMenu.
-bugfixes including the ones reported.
Can't wait to see what some of you will do with the new customization options (which might be buggy for the moment, this feature is kind of beta right now) , don't hesitate to post pictures if you have some cool results!

Thanks guys,
I'm working on a white theme but I have no idea for other themes :silly:.
Hey let's have a little contest. Submit your custom theme (no copyright stuff please), and if it's selected to be inserted into the app, you'll have an unlimited trial  (similar to a paid version, I have sadly no easy way to directly give away the paid version ) and your name in the app credits of course.
What's needed:
-background for Deskbar
-background for the StartMenu
-2 images for pressed and normal StartButton states.
You might need to use 9patch for the 2 first ones.
I absolutely love this app! This is exactly what I have been looking for! If I may recommend some features for in the future, I prefer to have half of the bar so I can access my notifications, but it's difficult to reach the navigation icons in the middle. Could there be an option to have them appear under the start menu above the lock screen button? I'm also curious if the applications on the bar could be changed from shortcuts to the most recent apps. That might not be possible, but it would be a very useful feature as there already is a quick shortcut option under the start menu. Love your work and I'm excited to see the direction of this app!
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using XDA Premium HD app
Hello, thanks for your nice feedback!
You're the second person to ask for the virtual buttons to be in the start menu, so I think I will try to add it soon.
For recent apps, it won't be easy to add it to the bar. In start menu it will be easier but might be less interesting.
When selecting "pictures" under the start button on my gt-p3113 and Galaxy S3 the gallery starts to open but then crashes with the message "unable to find item". This happens regardless of the default gallery I choose. Other than that id just like to say I really love this app. With ubuntu style sidebars getting a lot of attention lately I feel this needs equal if not more and I will recommend this to everyone. Keep up the great work! Also I think it would be nice if users could adjust the amount of time it takes for the bar to disappear and perhaps the option for the bar to stay until the user decides to swipe it away.
How is this uninstalled? When i deactivate from Google Play it does nothing, nor can i uninstall from apps manage?
Tried to remove this from device admin, but it doesn't appear there, so no way to uninstall
You enabled the administrative mode to allow the app to lock the screen on demand. You need to disable this lock screen feature first to be able to uninstall (as stated when you tick the option).
Beta question
is there a beta apk where some feature are in beta are tested?
if so, I would like to help test the beta version.
Very nice app, using it on my Samsung Galaxy player running Gingerbread 2.3, which has no virtual nav keys. I can't find any option in settings to disable the autohide function, so I can keep the bar on screen. Am I missing something here, or is it because the Galaxy Player doesn't actually have its own soft keys and a nav bar?
Would certainly like to purchase this app, if I can get the bar to stop autohiding.
EDIT: Well, I installed deskbar on my Touchpad and the option to disable autohide is there. So, it looks like for some reason, it doesn't show up on my Galaxy Player 4.0 running Gingerbread 2.3.
Thanks,
Mike T
Is development still going on?
I contacted the dev but didn't get any answers yet.
can't find it
The app is no longer in google play. does anyone know where I can download it?

[HOW TO][ANY ROM] Install and Configure Halo

I saw a lot of people not knowing how to configure it, so here's how I got it to work
1. Install Floating Notifications and enable it in the Accesibility menu.
2. Select the box labeled "Launch Apps in Halo Mode"

}
3. Go to the app notifications menu and check which ones you want it to notify you for. HINT: if you want a real halo experience the rightmost icon in the app list will make the icon stay floating.
4. This is a personal preference: Go to Customize in Floating Notifications and select "Dock after a few seconds of inactivity" and then at the bottom set "Amount of the icon hidden when docked:" to 55%. If it is more than 55% then you will have trouble clicking the stack.
5. REBOOT PHONE.
Now for the Xposed part.
1. Install Xposed Framework
2. REBOOT PHONE.
3. Go into Xposed Installer and go to "Downloads" and select XHaloFloatingWindow, and then install it.
4. REBOOT PHONE.
5. Go into Xposed Installer and go into "Modules" and check the box "XHaloFloatingWindow".
6. For safe measure REBOOT PHONE. And then you're done
Lemme know if y'all need any help!
Also on the reboots it hung on the splash for a while.
Oh yeah not responsible if your device catches fire.
