Hi guys,
Yesterday I bought a Nexus 32gb in Fnac, and I realized that with the screen off the light of a close reading lamp is reflected in it and because of this I can see a dotted line and "squares" in the screen (I suppose it's the tactile panel)
The weirdest thing is after seeing the dotted line with the screen off, when I turn it on with the highest bright and a white background I keep on seeing those points
Would you be so kind as to check this?
Thanks for all.
My one x and asus transformer have them too.

I'm very grateful for your answer.
Do you still see them in the same place when you turn the screen on for a few seconds and put a white background in it?
The squares are in an obvious pattern. There is no way that could be a bad screen. All HP touchpad had it.

Ok, but I dont think it's normal that I can see the points with screen on (with background white)
Regards.
I see this with the Kindle Fire but not with the Nexus 7.

I've noticed this pattern on my Nexus 7 as well, but only when the screen is off and hit by a bright light at just the right angle. And even then, I have to really look for it.
I've never been able to notice it while the screen was turned on though.

No problem here. All screens have this. Its the touch sensor.

ah no, i can only see them when the screen in off and i am outside with bright sunlight on the front face... no chance of seeing them on white background here. :good:
It is normal. Stop being paranoid and just accept what people are telling you. It is normal to see that pattern while the screen is on if you have a bright background.
Edit: If people say they cant see them they are not looking for it correctly. All capacative screen has em'. True story

I just bought an Asus G73SW-A1 and I found out that it has an LED screen, so does that mean it will be prone to screen burn?
I don't think so...

Holy crap. 9,999 posts. lol

But anyway OP I don't think led lcds suffer much from burning in
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
OP is confusing LCD, LED and Plasma. Only Plasma suffers burn-in, and the 'LED' of your screen is simply the backlight that is used which is, sometimes, more uniform and energy efficient than the traditional CCF technology.
That is all.
I'm not confusing anything. I know that Plasmas and LEDs suffer screen burn and I could've sworn it didn't say LED backlit...I'll check again but I think it's an LED screen...

LED=Light Emitting Diode
Working at a computer repair shop and actually took out the LEDs out of a screen. They are just a series of LED lights for the backlight. The screen is still and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)
Are you sure this specific computer isn't an LED screen? They do make LED screens....
He is sure, its an led lcd,

I'm sure. It is impossible to create a screen just from light. How an LCD works is that it creates an image between two dark plates of glass, that heat the individual crystals making the image appear. But normally you can't see it, hence why you have the backlight. The newest way of lighting these LCD panels are LED lights. They are cheaper to produce, last longer, and have a better brightness. But that's about it.
If you want to do an experiment, open up the frame of your laptop screen, disconnect the inverter(which controls the backlight) turn on the computer and angle it at your room light, and you will see faint outlines of the system. But that only works with older laptops since the newer ones have the inverter built into the LCD and only use one cable that goes into the monitor, instead of 2, from the motherboard.
It's not impossible for only led, a car place in Paris had about a meter by a meter of red green and blue leds playing a video, looked awfule but was cool I guess

What about LED TVs? And what about LED variant phones (OLED, AMOLED, SUPER AMOLED)?

LED tv's = LED LCD
OLED and other variants afaik have no led back light and they can light up individually, which is why blacks are blacker as the pixel has virtually no power going to it
But Samsungs AMOLED and SAMOLED displays use Pentile arangment making thm not as clear as they share sub pixels, SAMOLED+ however uses RGB meaning its clearer The Nexus Galaxy uses Pentile to that amazing DPI comes up to actually be as clear / defined as the SGS2 , but more pixels too push so more battery eating and more gpu power neeed

You're talking about disparate technologies that have nothing to do with each other. LED displays do exist, but are usually only used as a cost effective way of creating massive outdoor displays. LED TV's are again, just LCD with an LED backlight.
Your laptop has an LCD screen. Be thankful!

I got my one from best buy, last night I noticed that when the screen is on, on the lower left side part of the screen is a little brighter, it's about half inch in diameter, it seems like the screen is being pressed, bc if I press the screen myself a little lower, it goes away and the same thing happens where im currently pressing. The is also a small bright dot right in the middle of the screen, which also is only noticesable with s black background.
And last thing, I don't know if this is normal, but the touch screen is not accurate at all

All of that is normal. They actually made it like this as a selling point.
Jk. Not normal. Take it back. I have none of those issues.

Lol, I'm just wondering if they will exchange it since it's barely noticible if it's bright outside, and only with a black background, like when a YouTube video is loading or the app drawer

Be prepared to demonstrate the defect and be firm that you want an exchange...

I was wondering if anyone else is able to notice blue Lines on the screen when the display is off? If I have my display off and I tilt my phone I can see blue lines both horizontally and vertically depending on how I hold the phone. I was just curious if anyone else has this problem or is it just me?

I didn't notice this on my original One that I got the week the phone was released, but it was immediately apparent on the NIB replacement I got 2 weeks later. I only see horizontal lines though, no vertical ones. The screen with the lines also seemed a bit brighter, but I never got a chance to compare both side by side.

You might be seeing the lines of the digitizer I believe not sure it has small squares or lines going vertically and horizontal depends how you see it really I've seen it on most touch screens they're very hard to see tho

I've seen them, but only in specific conditions with the screen off.

Look up the "burn in" / screen burn in thread. I believe this is your issue. If that is your problem, it is not fixable. All the knowledge you desire is in that thread. Read the first few pages and then skip to the last few pages.

Notice some screen flickering on my device from time to time. Only thing I can think of is I was charging with a different cable then the one that comes with the phone and when I unplugged the problem went away.
Mostly notice when transitioning between screens and charging. Anyone else?
I haven't noticed any flickering at all, even with a different cable.
