Torrent downloading apps on rooted KFHD - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anybody has an experience with installing torrents application from Google play to KFHD?
I've tried several (MuTorrent, BitToorent) but they don't work. The error is displayed while I'm trying to add any torrent file to download.

Utorrent works fine for me

[Q][1.3][Gmail & Youtube Problem]

I upgraded my NC to 1.3 then root it. My market currently works perfect but some problems are occurred with GMail & Youtube app
GMAIL: it can sync emails but cannot SEND any message out.
YOUTUBE: i can not watch any clip inside Youtube app (Youtube app said that "The problem has occurred")
P/S: i'm currently using Darginling 09012011 kernel.
Can anyone help me?
You might want to re-install GApps
just flash the gapps from cm7, huh?
YouTube has been broke for a few months. The only temp fix is to turn off high quality video. It's the apps fault not the roms
Oh and go to the market page. You will see many other phones have problems with youtube

I had an issue with YouTube which was solved by reinstalling as described in this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1258529
I reinstalled using the youtube apk found in 16a image. I first deleted the existing YouTub apk from /system/apps with Titanium Backup. Then I copied the app from the 16a image over to the SD card and used RootExplorer to copy it to EMMC. I then ensured that NookColor Tools was set to allow installing apps from outside of the market. Once I re-installed everything was fine.
i tried to reinstall but it still doesn't work T_T. Thank all of you anyway

[Q] Youtube - Works only for a short while

I have tried practically every KFHD 7 rom available, they start off with great YouTube playback then I start getting Touch to Retry becuase the video has problems loading. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Apps Installed that could cause the error:
AD Blocker
VLC
I would guess adblocker, I use adblock plus, it got removed from the Google store but it's still kept up to date if you get it from their site. Seem's like anytime I use host file blocking it blocks YouTube from working. Oh and yay vlc, I use that too, love that video player.

flash player

I've been trying to get flash player to work with the stock browser. It looks like it's disabled within the browser itself. I've got it working in Firefox (beta). Does anyone else have it working in Firefox as well?
Just no stock or chrome. I know I can do other 3rd party browser workarounds. I might just switch to using FF as my primary.

I understand the 3rd party browser (dolphin) workaround. I'm trying to get in working in stock browser. I was also asking if anyone else has it working in Firefox. Thanks though

I don't use Firefox, but from what I read there are some things missing in the stock browser after the kit Kat update that is needed for flash to work.

I have flash working on firefox beta, when content is flash capable, firefox asks to activate flash and plugin content (could be set to always on/off/ask). Some pages do not recognize the version of flash but most load fine.

[Q] Problems casting

Does anyone else have a problem casting from the fire tablet? I've installed all necessary Google services and the playstore. They've updated automatically. I can cast using YouTube and Showtime Anytime with no problems since I am able to see my Chromecast devices when connecting. For some reason I cannot see my Chromecast devices when trying to cast from Netflix or HBO Go. I've reinstalled these apps but still not working. The Chromecast app is able to see the devices and connect to them with no problems.

netflix and hbo go do not allow casting from ro.device.manufacturer=Amazon in build.prop
change to at to amzn, or something else, and it should work fine

I imagine I will need root access to change the build.prop. Where can I find this file so that I can make the appropriate changes? Thanks!

I got Netflix working after editing the build prop but HBO Go will still not cast. The cast button won't even show up. Am I missing something? Is this the only line I have to edit in the build prop? Thanks!

Changing build.prop will not solve the cast problem ... but could bork the ROM necessitating a restore of FireOS to recover the device. Be careful what you mess with ...

How I got "incompatible" apps onto the Fire HD 8 tablet

I was very disappointed that I couldn't install the Google+ app from the Google Play Store on my Fire HD 8 tablet, because Google Play said that the app wasn't compatible with my device.
So, I installed Ankit Kumar's "APK Extractor Lite" app from the Google Play Store onto my Droid Turbo 2 phone, extracted Google+ to an APK, uploaded the APK to a Google Drive folder, then downloaded it onto my Fire HD 8 tablet. It installed without error, and I now have a "proper" version of Google+ on my tablet.
I also did this for WeatherBug Elite, the now abandoned and generally unavailable ad-free version of WeatherBug. It runs like a champ on my Fire HD 8, except that I do need to manually refresh the map when displaying a radar map--small consolation for having an app that I like.
Obviously I got lucky, and not all apps will extract or install correctly. And time will tell if I have any issues or if the apps update properly through Google Play. YMMV, of course!
Have you tried downloading the apps from a site like Apkmirror? It may save you a bunch of time.

Non-Amazon Android App. Issue...
I have been trying to download an app. that you need to get through the Google store, and tried doing some convoluted "apk" that I foynd online, but it didn't work (though it's possible that the files just didn't completely download because the device often shuts itself off :-\). If anyone might be able to tell me how to get the Blue Jeans (web conferencing) app. onto a Fire HD 8, that would be incredibly hrlpful.
