(8.9") I was wondering if it was possible to move the bar with the home and back buttons to the bottom instead of the right. I installed a different keyboard app and the bar covers the right side of it. My Kindle is rooted.

This was essential for me in Gingerbread. ICS there is no option yet, anyone know how to do it myself, tablet is close to unusable atm. Whenever I type I miss loads as hit the status bar instead of the keyboard, also buttons more accessible at the top.
Thanks.
My bottom status bar (CM7) has never caused me issues. In fact, I can't recall seeing one with it at the top (except on phones of course).
The dots representing the different screens is up top, would you move that to the bottom? Seems like that would be a problem too. Maybe more so.
IT was an option in CM7 to have it at the top, the dots are hidden when in an App so would not cause a problem and the onboard keyboard would be flush with the bottom of the screen and functional.
I would also like the status bar on top.
This is my post with the answers I got:

Thanks for the replies. I've gone back to gingerbread until this is sorted, was finding it unusable.
id prefer the bar stay at the bottom but i do know what you are talking about with the keyboard. seems everytime i go for space, i hit that instead.
I have an unlocked rooted VZ Dev Ed with Xposed and Gravity Box and Ultimate Nav Bar module. But I still can't figure out how to add a magnifying glass to my stock soft keys. Ultimate Nav Bar only seems to give me yet another Nav Bar that pops up when I press the trigger but doesn't replace my existing soft keys. Maybe I'm not setting up Ultimate Nav Bar correctly?
I like having persistent softkeys or at least ones that are easily accessible with a swipe up. (Although swiping up from the bottom seems to trigger Google Now so I set Ultimate Nav bar to be triggered by a press on the right instead of a swipe.)
I prefer the stock softkeys to Ultimate Nav Bar anyway. I did add the three dots menu to my stock softkeys but I would also like to add the magnifying glass for search. Is this possible? If not, how do I completely replace the stock softkeys with Ultimate Navbar?
Judging by the lack of response - I guess its not possible (Unless I want to flash a CM rom.)
I just want to say "Me Too". This is the biggest thing I miss from the AOKP ROM. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an Xposed module that does this. (No, Gravitybox's extra button does not provide the context sensitive search I'm looking for).
Hello.
I have just rooted my 810 (9'7") but I have doubts. Can I update by OTA my tablet? Will be it in loop if I do that?
And another question is if I can use multiwindow with any app. How?
Not sure about the OTA question, but to multi-window, there are multiple ways. First, you can open something, then hold the recents key and then select another app to put alongside it on the screen. Secondly, you can tap recents, and then tap the icon that looks like two rectangles on top of each other (next to the close X) on the app you want, then do the same to select another. You can also open an app and then drag the very top right corner of the app down (towards center of screen) to shrink the window down.
I keep returning to home screen whenever I type too quick while pressing the space bar
This gets very annoying. I've searched for a nav bar to replace the stock one but then my dock apps get hidden behind my nav bars and the keyboard also messes up too.
Is there anything to reduce the size of the nav bar?
Why not remove the bar entirely? Just use the button. One tap for back, hold for home and swipe for multitasking.

Not as far as I know. There are other options that can help. You can hide it altogether, which is how I have it. Loving it since day one. Or you could get it to hide in a floating dock. Or bring it up only on swipe up, I think.
I had a similar problem with a different phone. I ended up simply moving the keyboard up using the keyboards settings. Unfortunately I don't remember which keyboard app it was. I use SwiftKey now, and it lets me float the keyboard.

Too confusing. They should let you customise the gestures
Honestly I've removed the nav bar I just use the single button, finger print reader.
Tap for back
Hold for home
Swipe for recents.
Don't think I could go back to a nav bar now.
it's stuck in the far right and as a left-handed user, i'd rather it in the center or more closer to the left. holding on the button wont let me move it or do anything. is anyone else experiencing this?
Not sure what you mean by apps button? If you are referring to the navigation bar then you can swap the recents with the back button
Just search navigation bar in settings
its the button on your home screen that opens up the list of all your apps
Under display in the settings there is an option to turn the app button on
yes, it's on my home screen but I am unable to move the icon around the bottom like my other shortcuts, which is my issue
What a pain in the arse, now just swipe up
Might go back to NoVA because of this
