Problem with Kindle fire 2 rooting

I recently got my kindle fire 2 for xmas and i am having trouble rooting it. when i use any of the methods listed it hangs at daemon started successfully, I have installed the drives and enabled Adb in the settings, but im still having trouble any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had to go into device manager, uninstall the kindle driver, and then replug it, and let them reinstall before mine would recognize.

have you edit the adb usb ini ?

Hello Everyone, first post after several hours of research and first attempt to root and flash a device.
A little about the device, it is a Kindle Fire (non-HD)
I did a factory reset on the device before doing anything.
I followed the instruction i found on this forum to install Kindle Fire Utility 9.6
Following this, I downloaded and installed, JB-AOKP_otter_unofficial_Oct-17-12.
I followed this install with: gapps-jb-2012-0726-signed
Everything was going great. All of the sudden I got a pop-up stating Process com.android.phone has stopped. As fast as I press "OK" it returned.
The only resolution I have been able to get is to force the tablet back into TWRP and restore it, as once it appears there is no way around it.
has anyone encountered this issue and found a solution?
Thanks in advance, I am new to rooting (first shot ever) and eager to learn what I can about it.

Good morning,
As a follow up, I tried to re-install the Android system. Somehow I managed to delete too much by way of wiping the system and basically locked the KF up until I was able to mount it as a USB drive. I placed the OS file back in the directory (the original KF software was gone). I reloaded the OS and seemingly it works correctly.
Up to this point I have not had the error return, so the only real change was the complete removal of the KF software. The unfortunate part, is if I were to ever want to sell the KF I have no way to return it to stock, Atleast not that I have figured out yet.
Now on to searching for a volume control, that is easy to use....

[Q] Noob - pls help me!

Hi, I have KINDLE HD 7"
something happened to my device (I will mention later).
Consider my problem as a complete Noob with a Kindlefire HD 7" which freezes at kindle logo (it get turns off - on a 20 secs of pressing power - but again, it stops at kindle logo with no animation or movement)
here's the history:
I used c-2 method (here) successfully and got the root checker confirmation message.
Then I used kindlefirstaide and since my initial demand for rooting was VPN , I tried install VPN menu entry. there was nothing there indicating it need such a huge download on third item, I let it to be done, but at 98% my internet connection failed to respond! the first aide said it has restored the kindle successfully,
But my Kindle stops at KidleFire logo at start-up.
- what can I do to check what happened to my device?
- is my bootloader damaged? if so what can I do to fix it? which thread?
(I know usually moderators hate panic people begging for help, but I'm a complete noob and need help anyway)

There are parts of kindle fire first aide that can take 60-90 minutes. I suggest you post your problem on that thread. You will need to be patient and wait for a response as that thread gets quite busy. Good luck.

Alright from the get go. I am running 10.3.1. I rooted using a tutorial from this site, it was rather easy. It only took me like 25 minutes and then to add the Play store, another 25. I had it running perfectly fine with GO launcher and it was the way i liked it till I saw NEXT launcher and I wanted that instead. I had GO still running and being a noob I thought if I installed NEXT launcher that it would be able to be set by default when I was asked and that would be it. From what I can tell they were fighting for the kindle's affection and it was at a constant refresh directly after the install. I then soft reset it and I'm stuck at a kindle fire screen. The animation is very fast, with no delay between ending and beginning again. I tried today using the KFU to no avail. I also tried to reinstall the drivers, nada. my computer in device manager does read it, "other devices" Kindle" Uppercase "K". I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I cannot get the SDK to work on my computer. Even with the correct environment setup, nothing. I've viewed plenty of other fixes, none help my situation, not because I don't think they do, but because I've tried. When I KFU I get a Waiting for Device, nothing further happens (40 minute waiting period). I tried to Recovery boot and I tried to push TWRP, nothing. I'm at a loss. To be clear idk what fastboot is and I don't know how to "code" anything so anything help in detail, would be awesome, you guy are a great community and I wouldn't dream going any where else for expertise. Thanks for any help. Btw AMA and I'll try and best accommodate so I can fix this

I guess from your words that you installed a new launcher and probably you forgot to fix permissions. After that you tried a lot of things without success. I recommend you to buy a factory cable, get into fastboot a then yowill be able to restore

1. You should have a fast boot cable. I bricked last week and SkorPon sent me one in 7 days. I am now back in business running CM10.1
2. If you have the Kindle up and running and you're computer isnt recognizing - reinstall the drivers from Device Manager (Update Drivers button and manually find the Android drivers on the C: drive) This simple task has done wonders for me. Try it.

Tried rooting my kindle fire

Hey Guys,
I spent today trying to root my Kindle Fire HD 7, 4th gen (i think). After trying for ages it coudnt get it work so i decided to give up. when shutting it down in the recovery mode screen, i hit the power button while it was over the option reboot bootloader or something like that.
Now the Kindle will not turn and when i plug it into my pc, it is showing as an HTC Dream.
What i want to know have i broken it completely or is there away i can undo what i have done.
I updated my fire to os 5 and my windows operating system is 10.

I've how got it back on and its installing the lastest software, phew! thought i had broekn it :L
