Give this rom a try......http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1980506
I would definitely recommend Ultimate ROM. I've been using this ROM since XXLS7, which was already great for my daily usage, and now XXLSA is even better. The developer is a great guy, actively looks for issues users report and provides updates through an UpdateOTA system (directly from the ROM itself). Give it a try but be sure to make a full wipe (including formatting /system and /preload) before installing to avoid issues.
Not really sure how different they actually are from each other but I'll have to throw my hat into the ring for Ultimate too, I guess. The OTA fixes and mods are nice (for some reason Ultimate changed the default green to blue, but then gives you the option to download the default green theme, which I promptly did. Nice to have the choice!)
Stable, updated, seems like a good rom.
EDIT: I stripped a bunch of bloatware from Ultimate and now it is really zippy. No complaints about UI speed, but the dialer still takes a second or two to pop up.
Try
If you are comfortable with flashing now and then, then I suggest you try them all out one by one to see which one works for you.
I tried the Ultimate version 4 when it came out, then upgraded to its v5 - worked fine for about 2 days, then got bogged down and laggy, then totally ruined my experience.
Then I flashed eybee1970s [ROM] [JB] [4.1.2] Stock deodexed and rooted XXLSA / NEW Leak!, and that also worked for 2 days. Yesterday while using the phone with the Wi Fi on, phone date got changed to the year 2000, WhatsApp error appeared on the notification bar, and two minutes later, phone automatically restarted, but never got past the initial Samsung Galaaxy Note screen.
Tried everything from wiping and flashing different kernels, but to no avail. This morning, reflashed the same ROM after full wipes and format of the system/data/preload, reinstalled my apps, and is working fine for the moment. Will update at the end of today and tomorrow. Love the gallery with the rotating thumbnails and the multiwindow on this ROM.
Leaks are in fact, leaks - IMO, think we'd be better off waiting for the official Sammy update to JB (4.2 hopefully)
Good luck! :good:
Ultimate V5 is fine
I'm telling you now... there's not going to be a 4.2 leak.
The 4.1.2 is going to be the Swan Song.
However, there's heaps of support.
We'll definitely get 4.2 via AOSP-base and thereafter (Android 5.0 ?)
I'm quite happy with 4.1.2 leaks especially Ultimate ROM v4 (v5 many issues).
If I can get v4 with the Camera fix from v5 that would be awesome.
If I can get Miracast from Android 4.2 (AOSP or NOTE2) then it would be truly.... ULTIMATE!!
Does the airview work on the Spanner Widget for any of these XXLSA leaks ? For me it only works on the Splanner App
I've been using Cassie's XtraLite for the last 3 days and its superb. No problems with anything. Aroma install option allows you to easily ditch a fair chunk of bloat.

All the JB leaks have the boot loop issue. Some or the other time it will get stuck in boot loop and say we have to live with it till the official JB releases.
Try reboot from recovery or do a nandroid backup and restore to get the phone working again
I have bootloops, oops fruitloops for breakfast.
Yes welcome to the club, all the jb leaks have this, those based on dumps more. You really need to get a clean safe install with no restore of apps data for this to run properly.
good rumoured news official jb is just round the corner
The bootloops happen with every JB leak after XXLS7 or XXLSA. I found the cause in my Note: unclear shutdowns (like pulling the battery when the phone is on, or a system freeze). The best workaround I found is to go to recovery, do a backup (nandroid) then restore it right after. It should take some minutes but you will be back up where you were.

even i am having the same problem but as mentioned above all roms have this issue and we hope that the official jb release comes out fast:fingers-crossed:
Same issue with me.. i also using ultimate JB v5.1, suddenly happen bootloop "samsung galaxy note Gt-N7000". After reflashing back the rom, ok just for a while.. later happen again, then after i flashing Zip file to remove yellow triangle using Jig & odin, my note completely DEAD & waiting Jtag service :crying:
just happen again on xxlsc do all wipe useless only apply on restore backup solved the problems.
My note was just fine, i was using paranoid rom with nx kernel on it, then i just saw a new 4.1.2 rom (sweet ROM) i backed up my rom & then flashed the rom & speed mod kernel as well, i noticed when trying the camera something was wrong the icons were rotating like if i was moving the phone from vertical to horizontal constantly i decided to go back but was just crazy i got the same result.. googling i found some GS2's some gyroscopes were broken because a file some of'em because upgrading to ICS and others beacuse flasing just rom's i'd like to call for ur help guys thanks in advance cheers
Did you flash Sweet rom from nxkernel? If yes then that might have sonething to do with it not sure though.
Flash some TW based kernel (say Philz) and then do a full wipe and install Sweet Rom and see if it helps. Before that take backup of your apps.
Good luck

I cant run Gingerbread (GB) because many apps I use do not support such an old Android version.
So it must be between Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), Jellybean (JB), and Kitkat (KK).
I've tried a few roms and cannot find the buglessness I seek:
[ROM] [4.1.2] [Mar 18 2013] Slim VJ Jelly Bean 4.1.2 - v1.0 for N1
VJ's previous non-slim JB rom
Evervolv's Kitkat
j00m's Kitkat
MIUI.us's unofficial JB port v2.12.28 (considerably worse than the official GB MIUI rom)
reider123's CM10 rom
tommypacker's pixeldroid AOKP kitkat
tommypacker's CM10.1.3 Android 4.2.2 v2.7
parkedraccoon's CM11
Evervolv ICS
All of them contain frustrating bugs. So the search continues to find the most workingest post-gingerbread rom.
Together, I'm sure we can find it! Who's got a lead?
And the winner is...
j00m's kitkat!
I'm using it on a 198/3/235 hboot (system is only 191mb)
one of the only roms besides official Evervolv that has trackball wake toggle (no more pocket wake-ups!)
on my recommendation, j00m replaced the /system/app/Torch.apk with one that stays on after screen turns off.
Tip: enable lock screen widgets in Security settings, and put the torch widget on the lock screen for quick access.
j00m fixed WiFi tethering (w/security set to None only)
i replaced the slow buggy stock kitkat browser with UCbrowser (it's even faster than dolphin)
i turned off the clunky window animations in Developer Options for a snappier experience
i installed the app Videocam Illusion to enable video recording
this is as bug free as it gets. Daily driver ready.

Hmm, the only decent post-gingerbread ROM I found was Evervolv/J00m's KitKat. It works fine for me, but others haven't had such luck...Evervolv JellyBean (3.2.0 I believe?) was the best alternative, I can't remember what problem caused me to switch back to CM7. I think (if my memory serves me correctly) that one time it was the home button that wouldn't work, but the second time around it worked, I think it had something to do with running out of space, perhaps due to the GAPPS? Anyhow, you might give it a try and see if it works for you. Maybe try to flash the core GAPPS and get the play store to install your stuff instead of the full GAPPS which is way bigger.
I have the same problem with a 4.4 evevolv, the phone restarts constantly and gives me process.media was interrupted.

Maybe I should give Kitkat another try... I remember having a delay to answer the phone on Kitkat... one time I kept waiting for the screen to turn on while it was ringing and ringing, and eventually i missed the call cuz there was no way to answer it.

Actually, the solution isn't as easy to find as I remember. What worked for me was to clear data of media storage: Settings > Apps > All > Media Storage. Others have reported that they had to clear data of Contacts and Contacts Storage located in the same place.

I can not even get there, and it freezes before it restarts.
That recovery is to be used with black roses to install the 4.4?
Because the CM11 at the time of the flash failed?

I'll give it a try.
@PhilipTD, yep, I think that's the one: [ROM] [DEV] [ICS 4.0.4] *7/1* Evervolv's Aosp TexasIce Cream Sandwich
hboot 220/10/206
I found a working download link to the final version of Evervolv's ICS rom (Evervolv-Perdo-2.2.0-Final-passion.zip): http://evervolv.codefi.re/builds/release/Perdo/
And its corresponding gapps: http://d-h.st/AxV
I tested Evervolv's ICS and immediately found 2 bugs that have been haunting me:
Cant play videos embedded in webpages.
Pressing the trackball to take a photo always requires 2 presses for the first photo.
So I gave the latest j00m's Kitkat another try, and while it's not bugless...
it seems to be the ONLY post-gingerbread rom that can play videos embedded in webpages.
Still has the camera-trackball bug. (is this bug present only in evervolv-based roms?)
Videocam illusion app works on EVERY rom for video recording.
Kitkat at least has the potential of fixing bugs as it is currently receiving very frequent updates.
So I think j00m's Kitkat is the way to go.

j00m's KitKat is really good. The only reason I switched to Evervolv's was because I wanted to try out ART on my device and that setting had been removed from the j00m's nightly...but ART doesn't work on my phone so they're both good for me. I might go back to j00m at some point since it is simpler to flash (don't need to flash GAPPS on top!) - plus it has a boot animation that has a clear start so I know whether my phone is in a bootloop or simply taking forever to load.

Additionally, j00m's rom is slimmed down to only 211MB system which means it should work perfectly on the ICS hboot - 220/10/206 saving lots of space!
The stock kitkat web browser is barely usable. Chrome browser is even worse. Thankfully, the Dolphin Browser works really well!

I've generally felt VJ's v6.0 4.2.2 was the slickest version of JB that I've used till date on my N1.
I've used PixelDroid, Carbon, PACMan, ParanoidAndoid and Evervolv. But while these ROMs are customizable and have different features, VJ's ROM had the perfect (imho) blend of CM and Vanilla Android which was right for me.
Video recording and Tethering won't work but the rest of the features are pretty cool. As far as KK ROMs are concerned, they are still not as smooth nor as stable as the JBs yet. I've only started playing around with @parkedraccoon's CM 11 and @texasice's 4.4. I expect better updates to follow.
SHORT VERSION: is there any stable rom for the i9305 that can also run banking apps that look at if your rooted? Or just a stable rom for i9305!? Or even a stock rom that has no bloat-ware (for i9305 of course and in uk)?
LONG:
So I started out a journey looking for a good stable rom and of course cyanogen caught my eye but I unfortunately swapped to a 4g service and swapped my phone right before embarking on this journey to a i9305 - crap!
I thought wow great 4g and 2gig ram it'll be perfect with cyanogen 11 so I waited and no M build for i9305 all year long argh! So I gave up and tried a nightly cyanogen 11 and it was buggy as hell. So gave up on that after a few weeks and trying different updates moved to carbon - again only nightly available even more bugs maybe I was just unlucky in timing but on to cyanogen 10.1 I was going backwards now not the most fun but it still has a few bugs but is way more stable and I loved the speed and camera was great but still it feels a bit old and I still prefer stock . So I am thinking now I either give up n get stock or go on to yet another one but im not confident now ...thanks!
i also like stock ROM...until now didn't found one which will have wi-fi working with stock kernel...so i will give it a try to rXTREME.JB.4.3-V5.1.1 with a custom kernel and see how it works...

Hmm yes too many bugs in all the custom roms on this device wish I could try a cyanogen M build ...
if you want to install rXTREME you MUST make a full wipe....in instruction it says it is recommended....but in reality is a MUST...all kind of bugs...and freezes...just opened screen and tried to unlock it...light effect...instant freeze...had to reboot...
i also wanted a stable CM11....not with huge battery drain...and other force closes....
hi men ,
i used the slimKat rom on my gti9305 and it's the perfection for that

Guys, A little Help!
I am currently using my old Galaxy S I9000, as my HTC has gone to Service Centre for a week.
Last time I left it with JB Custom Rom (C-Rom Bean v1.9.0 Final) which was working quite OK! Now its too much laggy and slow all over while on JB Rom. I have already tried CM11, CM10.2, Slimkat, SpiritRom and Dark Unicorn (all 4.x.x and above).
Currently I am on CM7.2, which is working quite fine, considering its based on GB 2.3.7. I was also looking for working Lewa OS link, as I liked the one that I installed on my HTC, but couldn't find one.
Can anyone help me to understand what has happed to make this phone go soooooooo slow. Even if I am unable to instal Android 4 and above, I would still need the link for Lewa OS. If anyone has it, that'd be most helpful.

Mainly, the problem is on the way the different roms use the dalvik vm and the way aforementioned roms are unable to leash cache used. So, my recomendation is a good rom which a good preset over dalvik used of memory and applications like App Cache Cleaner to erase the cache every now and them.
For me the perfect combination is:
1. Stable CM10.2.1 rom
2. Kernel Semaphore 3.3.0 (avoid version 3.3.0s because it gives problems with Netflix, besides version 3.3.0 is perfect and you can activate bigmem with Semaphore Manager App, so 3.3.0s is nonsense) (NOTE: You need odin for installing it, follow this instruction)
3. Gapps: gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip
4. Semaphore manager app. Settings for Semaphore Manager:
- Smartassv2 Governor: Awake ideal freq 900000 / Up rate 10000 / Down rate 99000 / Max CPU 50 / Min CPU 20 / Ramp up 300000 / Ramp down 300000 / Sleep ideal freq 300000 / Sample rate jiffies 2.
- Deep Idle: Enable
- Lock min freq to 100Mhz: Disable
- Active Scheduler: CFQ
- Bigmem: Enable
5. My build.prop to be placed within /system/ (remember to set for this file rw-r--r-- permissions and change owner to root).
6. A launcher like Zeam Launcher or Lightning Launcher
7. And finally an installed App Cache Cleaner Pro to erase the cache every now and them.
Best.
I have flashed CM10.2.with minimal gapps, but now unable to connect to internet. Tried flashing many times after wiping data, clearing cache and clearing Dalvik cache, but still unable to connect to internet.
EDIT: That as a temp problem with my carrier network. So, I have installed CM10.2 with above details. Working fine so far. Will let you know if there is any problem with this setup.

Try to flash the final build 2.2 of SlimBean 4.3 with SlimGapps.
It is faster than CM10.2 and has much better battery life (especially if you use TRDS mode)

Guys, we have got Android Lollipop 5.0.2 for our device, though an alpha build from @humberos. I am using it as of now, though without Gapps. Its Beautiful! And working!

I have tried to flash the zip last week but it stucked on "extracting system" every time. It just updated my recovery to TWRP 2.8.4.1, but didn't even reboot.
Maybe it is phone that isn't OK anymore. Its internal memory isn't working correctly anmore.

It takes approx 15-20 minutes for installation. You need to be a bit patient with this

Cool I tought it failed as the installation process never took that long yet. I will try again then.

OK, I 've flashed it. Lollipop on the i9000. It took 19min until the process was finished.
I have also flashed PA Gapps pico by Tkruzz, all other are probably too big.
The Omni LP alone (just Omni 5.0) is extremely smooth, but quite slow.
After flashing of Gapps (which BTW work perfectly fine) my i9000 has turned into the slowest device I ever used. It is way slower than Eclair, actually just same slow like my S8000 running CM7 from externalSD card.
It takes 15sec to open PlayStore, up to 2min to download and install an app (even smaller apps), about 5-10 sec to react on pressing any button and the device is often running out of memory and soft reboots are the result. It takes up to 15sec until the keyboard appears etc.
Otherwise all important functions work fine, but Lollipop is too big a task for the i9000 and except that it just works, there is simply no many people who would like to use a device with auch slowdowns. Even biggest fans of the i9000 (I might be among them) will have to face the fact that Android 5.0 is actually out of the hardware capacity of the S1

I myself am using CM10.2. Which works fine, with just a bit of lag. Its either that or gingerbread. Anyways, omni 5.0 for i9000 is just experimental at this stage, with promise for a more stable build by @humberos. It may be light on the system, but who knows.
I'd say buy a newer model if we need new OS as software is as good as its hardware and vice versa.
Omni is excellent and very stable, although in Alpha stage. That isn't my point.
LP system cannot get smaller, the i9000 is simply too slow for Android 5.0
It was just an info for people who dream to use Lollipop on i9000. It is a huge slowdown.
I have much faster devices but I don't use LP even there.

Hey,
I suggest you guys to use SlimBean v2.9 with the latest Slim JB gapps. The phone will be quite fast, despite this device is very old... This version of SlimBean is not available on their site but is here:

I think further versions are significantly slower and this one offers quite a lot of customization as well. Good luck with the i9000 [emoji3]

Which Android version is that Slim build and why isn't it on the Slim server?
Is there a md5 checksum?
tetakpatalked from N7100
It's an android 4.1.2 and SlimBean version 2.9. It's not on the official site because it's not the latest 4.1.2 version they have distributed. That's the 3.1 if I'm not mistaken.
Sorry I don't have an md5 for the file...

Good to know. How is the battery life there? With CyanogenMod I remember that 4.1 and 4.2 had terrible battery life, while 4.3 was a lot better.

It can last from morning till the evening but of course depends on the usage.
From what I remember Slim on 4.1.2 was real solid, probably one of my favourite roms. 3.1 wasn't that bad either

I've tried today build 2.9
It worked fine but for some strange reason it didn't recognize my wifi router...all other networks just fine, but not the important one. I couldn't solve it, tried everything.
But I have feeling that SlimBean 4.3 is at least as good.
Hey, BTW I have filmed Omni 5.0.2, I will try to edit it and upload tomorrow

I don't think I ever got around to trying the 4.3 version, I remember the 4.2.2 version was a bit hit and miss when it came to battery (but then again, all 4.2.2 roms save Gamerzrom and a few others were). By the time the 4.4.x version came out I moved onto the S3 so I can't vouch for that, but Slim roms are pretty good
And you legend, thanks a lot
