Is anyone else having a problem with the home screen not rotating? I cant seem to get the phone to do it consistently. It has happened a few times so I know its possible.
This is a very common problem in Android Ice Cream Sandwich, as well as Jelly Bean. Some solve the problem of updating the software on your phone, and some simply installing the new additions.
I think some 3rd party launchers will do this. Otherwise i believe it will only rotate when charging or connected to a display.

Hi to everyone,
First of all, i have to apologyze for my english, and just in case if there is another thread about this, but i haven't been able to fnd a solution or anyone with a similar problem.
I have a problem with the g-sensor of my OB, but i think it's a sw issue, as i can calibrate it with apps like gps settings (or something like that) putting the phone on a flat surface, and then i can see that it behaves normally IN THE APP. But then i go to the gallery and it automatically rotates to landscape mode, no matter how i put the phone. It detects that it is always sideways.
So i would like to know it f there is a way of calibrating the system accelerometer (not using 3rd party apps, which works for the app) and fix this problem.
Note: I have tried stock rom 2.2, 2.3 and cyanogenmod and the result is the same, so i have to disable screen rotation at least for reading properly the menus.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
I have experienced a really strange phenomenon. Just got a new Galaxy S GT-I9000 and decided to give CM10 a shot.
The main problem I am facing is some sort of a lag or better no response at all randomly. Problems are visible when:
1. I type on my keyboard
2. I scroll down long lists
The Problem.
Sometimes the device doesnt respond to my "tap" at all. The bug just occurs on the right half of the keyboard so you could say lower right half of the screen in a certain area around [k, i, l , j] buttons. When scrolling down lists my thumb is normally in that area so even when scrolling down the screen simply does not react from time to time and when I lift my thumb up and tap again everything works as normal.
This problem is extremely frustrating because I am not able to type properly anymore. First i was afraid its not the Firmware BUT my phone. But on stock rom I dont experience any of this at all.
Does anyone have an idea? Why can't I find something about this problem in the Forums. CM9 should be stable and nobody seems to experience this problem but doesnt the fact that it works on a stock rom prove, that its can't be the hardware?
Greetings
Folks,
unsure what might be causing this: I am rather frequently experiencing ghost swipes and ghost input on my Optimus 4X HD. Right now I am back to cm11 nightlies and see this behaviour same as on the stock ROM or any other ROM I tried so far. Behaviour's all the same: At some point the phone will start responding to phantom input - randomly starting applications from the launcher, randomly entering text in case I am in writing a message, randomly scrolling up or down in the current application, randomly opening and pinch-zooming-in-out pictures, ... . Usually, powering screen off and on again two or three times resolves this, but it's kinda annoying especially in situations in which the phone starts randomly making calls...
Any idea what could be causing this? Hardware issue? Defect? Dirty display? Issues with using a screen protection foil? Any input or feedback greatly appreciated.
Cheers and thanks,
Kristian
Not sure whether _anyone_ else does experience this on this device. My insights, so far, is that ghost swipes and this kind of input issues seem to be shared by other users on other devices, too, but they don't seem to appear on all devices of a certain kind running a certain piece of software. As far as I am concerned, these issues still happen then and now - but considerably less often after upgrading my p880 to another ROM (using EuphoriaOS 5.1 unofficial instead of nightly CM builds now). So if you see this problem on a p880, maybe this might help you too.
I recently purchased a Tab S2 9.7. It is on the 5.1.1 build LMY47X. T810XXU2BOJ1. The issue I am experiencing is that when I use the samsung keyboard in landscape mode, every time I press the letter h, it presses twice. So instead of typing the, it types thhe.
Has anyone else experienced this or something similar? Would it be possible that if I could reinstall the samsung keboard apk it may fix it? I have also tried using the keyboard in the split mode and it does not have the same issue. So I'm curious if it is a problem with that part of the touchscreen or the keyboard itself or something else. I installed swiftkey and it does not have the same issue. However it is also much larger on the screen so the h is not in the same place on the touchscreen,
I apologize if I'm not making much sense but hoping to resolve this without having to send off to Samsung repair center for who knows how long.
Just installed the 6.0 update and after it i see strange light-flickering bars/stripes on my screen, constantly. It's impossible to capture on camera but it looks like a constant live wallpaper (it's moving) is active. this wasn't before and it annoys me a lot
When i google this i cant find anything like what i have. anyone had any clue what it is or how to fix it?
do a factory reset and see if still there
Did that, but no effect. I think i need to return it
