Hey all.
Since I flashed the v28G leak with CWM 6.0.15 I can no longer install zips in the recovery. I get the following error: assert failed getprop ro.product.device p990.
I already tried deleting the first line in the updater.script, but that does not fix it.
Please help me out, I'm really frustrated. Thx.

Hi all,
Thinking of selling my i9000 soon (to upgrade to an S3), before I sell it. I'd like to return it to a stock rom and unroot it (currently on CM9), which stock rom should I use? How do I unroot it, and how do I remove all my personal information?
Thanks in advance
Rob

Thanks! Do I need to use a PIT and repartition? Are there any things to look out for since I'm going from ICS to GB, or is it just the same as flashing any other Odin ROM?
Sorry for all the questions
There is no problem to go back to gb from ics if you use odin.just flash it and you are done.

Excellent! I read somewhere a while back that there was, must have misread it...
Thanks!

I thought that it is not that easy because some ICS use different filesystems.
If you want to get back to gb custom rom it's difficult.odin is used to flash official firmware.

There is no issue ,use odin to go back to unrooted gb and then root it and install whatever rom you want.

This one will help you. As I said it is not that easy and needs some patience from you, but you will succeed.

So I am supposed to flash
GB-Stock-Safe-v5 \ Hotfile - 4shared
?
and it will give me the stock rom?
That is right.
That is one of the Samsung stock, JQ1 for Italy.
Download the guide too.
And this is a good base to flash overcome kernel, which gives you cwm recovery, which is what you need if you want to flash any custom Rom.

Yesterday i had to rooting my tab and then i founded one trick that i think its a lot easier. Im using CF-Root, then i used to flash with odin. No problem appear after that, but the problem coming after i had to reboot my tab; some sound glitch occur on samsung bootanim, and the last big problem for me is, now i cant turn on my tab again it stuck at bootanim. I know how to fix that problem; just flashing back to stock rom. But, i dont want to do that because i have a ton of games and app who will be disappear if im going to flashing back to stock.
So, anyway that can fix my problem without back to stock? Can someone give me a link about stock or custom gb(2.3.3) kernel? Maybe it can solve my problem. Please someone. Help me

Do you have the exact rom version that you were running? Maybe someone has the Rom, and extracting the kernel is possible.

I repacked the JQ1 euro rom's kernel in a tar
http://goo.gl/Bpmcr
try flash that in Odin like when you did CF-root
Then boot to the stock recovery and do a wipe cache (not sure of stock recovery has that..?)
anyway, try and see.
Else you probably want a restock.
If eventually you want to restock, just follow my signature to Overcome links.

you may be out of option but to restock.
Using CF-root was always a hit and miss.
that is why I recommend Overcome method every time.

Now ive been restocked my tab with overcome method. Then, how to root my tab? just downloadin overcome kernel and flash with odin like when i did cf-root, didnt it?
No. Dont do that.
Just flash overcome kernel using Odin.
Then use the cwm recovery ti flash overcome rom 4.1
Then it is s GB rom with root.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Yap. Thats what i want to do. So.. just for sure bcause i dont want to brick my tab.
1. Flash overcome kernel via odin
2. Flash overcome rom via cwm
3. Finish
That is right?

Do a backup with CWM. You can revert to stock ROM by restoring

Do not... For the love of whatever you call holy... Use CWM... Use TWRP or WCX recoveries

I think wcx is specifically meant for vivid. You can try that.
I have used both CWM and TWRP and have found both equally good

I don't have any experience in flashing in HTC vivid. Search the forum before flashing or take help from someone who owns one and knows what he is doing.
I give below link of one from the forum

ClockworkMod compiled for the vivid has a good chance to destroy partitions... It was improperly compiled or just isn't compatable...
