[Q] GT-N7000 vsSGH-T879 - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

GT-N7000 vsSGH-T879
I'm debating about picking up a NOTE for use in the USA
I'm reading a lot of forums on the Note and wanted to know what’s the benefit and negative
I know so far the GT-N7000 gets the emmc bug but I also notice SGH-T879 doesn't have that much Android Development
What’s your opinion on the subject?

There is a T-mobile Galaxy Note forum in xda but i dont see much development work there
Ofcourse N7000 has the emmc bug but it doesnt matter if u are on a safe kernel
So its better to go with N7000

Difference Between Custom Rom And Stock

Hey Guys
So Listen I Have The CM9 Paranoidandroid V0.4 And I Started Hearing About The Official ICS Coming From Samsung The Official So What Do You Think Should I Switch To The Stock And Try The Samsung Firmware Or Should I Stay On Paranoidandroid Which Is Better I Cant Say Please Help Me
Cm9 is ics more like intended, paranoid is same with tweaksettings ability.
Stock is how Samsung intended it. Which means looks practically as previous version roms lol

Its basically of your choice many peoples love touhwiz and more hate it but stock roms are very stable than any other rom
Well in touchwiz you can use:
1.full spen functionality
2.wifi direct
3.and some minor things

Just get urself outta this cm9ahit buddy..dunno y people go for it...it's too risky ****...and when u have really nice stock based roms like crash ics and chekrom gb why go for cm9??bwsides cm9 has microphone bug and paranoid is notorious for nonfunctionality of s pen..

I know of the problems and i know the risks but since the official ics is released for GNOTE i thought which is better my friend said that paranoid is faster , im aware off the mic and s pen problem but thanks anyway

If you like touchwizz, then go for stock, that's the only real benefit. There are a lot of problems with stock ics, superbrick bug that could damage your device, wifi problems, general degradation over time.
CM roms including paranoid are as ics was meant to be and very stable. I have no idea what the guy above means by risks? There aren't any, it's safer than stock.
Like I say it comes down to touchwizz vs stock whichever you prefer.

brick bug with cyanogenmod 9 ?

Hello.
if i install cyanogenmod on my galaxy note and make a full wipe, is there a risk to brick my phone ?
I also read that cyanogenmod uses much cpu and is slower than stock ics rom.
is that true ?
Thank you
I think its best you stay on whatever firmware you are currently using, and also to do a lot more reading before thinking of installing different software.

Cm9 is a safe kernel and it will not brick your device man. For the performance its upto the taste of the individual. But its not like that what you have just asked.

may not be due to RAM.

It's not due to ram. It's not like you have both roms loaded in ram at the same time. You choose what to boot first thing when you turn your phone on.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
Its possible to do this but we need a special configuration to chose what to boot and thats the hard thing

there were forum and sites that reported i that Note in korea had JB update but the korean version of Note has a completely diff hardware specs.. to start with it has a Snapdragon processor
It will come to the N7000 and I don't think it will be too long, be patient don't go bricking just for the sake of it.

My that's a nice paperweight in your hand ! The note 2is quad core. More ram ,which the Korean note 1 had. The korean one had a different chip etc.Good things come to those who wait. Crap comes to the fools who rush .......!

I recently flashed a Carbon ROM intended for N7100 on my N7000, luckily the only thing it did was erase my IMEI. only realized when I double checked what I had flashed that it was a wrong ROM.

Galaxy Note i9220

Please help, could not find anything out there about this phone. I have the international galaxy not, but mine is not the n7000 it is the i9220. First of all what is the difference? Second, I was able to root it but I can not find where to get a rom for it, i tried the cm10 rom for the n7000 but it failed, I want to put a rom on it to get rid of all the stock japp apps and also so i can get the play store. If anyone can help me out on where to find this rom please reply.
i9220 is the model for china mainland.
The specifications might be slightly different.
While N7000 is international note sold worldwide.

Any clue on how to go about getting a rom for it?
I have the international galaxy note n7000 but at the welcome screen it shows gt i9220. So in my case 8 would say both are the same things. If u go the the about phone option it will say its the n7000.

may be compare your hardware specs to the n7000 and see if they are similar..or compare it with the AT&T version.. which ever is similar,
N7000 has ARM v7 SMDK4210 cpu
