[Q] how to rename application

hye...greeting~
i already using apk edit but not work..
i also use apk manager but it didn't work( i don't how actually) *confuse*
i'm using window currently..
any other way ??
btw,if someone know,can you rename the app for me..

i think it's in java so......

Go to res/values/strings.xml..open strings.xml using Notepad++ and edit the app name..

thanks for corection .....
you will need to extract apk with some apk tool because xml files are unreadable

And don't forget to sign...unless it's a system app.

Yes, you can. I have changed my phone (as you can see from my xda app), and it works well. I see more apps in gp as compatibile with my phone.

Depends on what you change..

Both,
changing model changed nothing,
then i changed everything that was I9070 to I9100
and every gameloft game compatible and
i can update them manually.

new version not work proper as cracked badly and older doesnt work too,
buy game from google play
@nfs m.w only lags when there are more than 8 cars.

Nova 3 supports s advance so buy it from google play

fstab does not save changes !!

I'm trying to make some changes in fstab file , but after rebooting , the cahnges are cancelled
it seems that fstab is generated at each boot ?!
is it true ?
any idea how to save the changes ??

Have you got full root? What are you using to edit the fstab file?

yes , I use full root ( on ultimate rom v5)
I edit the file through root explorer (there is text editor option)
the changes are applied , but after rebooting the changes are gone !

Im not familiar with fstab, is it saving the orgonal with a new file name after edit? Try deleting the backup after edit.

Hi thanks for ur help... But it didn't work and I tried wipe data factory reset and wipe cache wipe dalvik cache is there any others ways to fix it...

Your problem is in SystemUI! Try replacin with another stock SystemUI.apk :fingers-crossed:

Thanks but u know when I boot my phone it freezes at Samsung logo I can't go to home screen or anything except download mode and recovery mode

you how to boost our phone 'already tried it in (SGA , SGA-i , sgy , sg pocket and stock 2.3.6) with no lags :good:
What do you need :
= Brain (of course):silly:
Ok Let start
Open the zip file
1: Copy the a_what , b_the &
c_f***.txt [its a script] and
paste in /system /etc /init.d
2: Push the 3_111xxx3.apk and
3_111xxx4.apk in " /system /app "
using ROOT EXPLORER ...
3: open the SCRIPT OF MINE.txt
[to add some performance] and
copy and paste it in the "BUTTOM"
of your BUILD.prop .
Last but not the least
4: open the FOR_BUILD.PROP.txt
copy and paste it Between " #3G
NETWORK and #NETWORK" inside
of the BUILD.PROP ...
if you dont have 3G NETWORK &
NETWORK in your build.prop PASTE
It in the buttom ..
And Reboot
ok thats all ....

if you dont have any 3G network & network .. paste it in the buttom inside build.prop
yeah copy it in /system /etc /init.d
yes . i set permission of that 2 app ..

Done all the steps, smooth as fvck
,but no WiFi =( , reverted back to new rom

Wifi doesn't work when switching form 3G to wifi, only works after rebooting.
