I have tried at least 8 different GAPPS archives at this point now. I am simply trying to get the GAPPS installed on my recently flashed CM10 SCH-i800. I installed the latest from Cyanogen (also mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1871113). Every time I attempt to install a Google app I get an error stating "Application not installed". Awesome help, I know...
ANY ideas on how to get past this?

May I ask how are you installing Gapps? You flash it via CWM and you get that error?

My google play was not working on My galaxy ace plus GT 7500. I tried many things like clearing the data, cache etc. and installed many google play version. but still it showed the errors.
So, I decided to install new gapps package and choose the wrong one. I went into recovery mode and installed it but after that my phone didnt started up properly showing "process.com.android.setupwizard".
I tried everything Flashing the ROM using Odin and root.tar file and then restored the backup but still getting the system error.
Please help.

I think that with the gapps package you have deleted something of needed for do work the system properly, you must be careful when use this flashable packages, however you should see in the flashable package all that one that has been deleted and then try to re-install all.

The gapps package does not delete any system app.

Thank you so much guys for writing.
I fixed it partially. I had the backup and restored.
now my ace plus started.
Still the gapps not working properly. See i dont have much knowledge of the android systems but now with the previous experience i learned its a whole new world. Now i am surely gonna learn all this.
But for now what are the possible way to run my gapps on ace plus especially google play.
1.)Do i need to install the right gapps package? please give me the link if possible and guide me for installation
2.)Do i need to install some custom ROM like cyanogenmod 7.2 or other? please give me the link if possible and guide me for installation.
3.)Do i need to install ICS? if yes then how.
4.)Is there any other effective way?
5.)Is there any way to install stock firmware containing gapps? if ys then hw to install?
please help.
Its frustating to have an android but using it as some normal phone.

Yes I have rooted my phone.
Then for install the google apps just that you unzip the gapps package for get all google apps in the package and then you can install normally or put in the system manually that is more sure than flash from recovery.

i did the same thing
I was flashing to the most recent version of cm9, grabbed the gaaps for JB, cm9 = not JB. all i did was go in, wipe data/ factory reset, then clear cache partition, wipe dalvik thru cwm, reloaded cm9 (the rom)(from install updates from sd card) and reloaded the correct ics gaaps. just reflashed then cleared all that crap again and it seems to work. i can get my g apps again
Hello all,
I have an I9000B model. Volume keys do not work.
So far I've managed to install everything through ROM Manager. But now, while trying to update from some CM10 nightly to the stable version, the installation is aborted with the message:
============================================
This ROM uses an incompatible partition layout
Your /data will be wiped upon installation
Run this update.zip again to confirm install
============================================
I understand that if I just rolled the menu down to perform installation again it would work, but I'm unable to do that! My question is: can I modify updater.sh to install again without requiring me to explicitly selecting the menu?
Is there any alternative option?
regards,
Never mind! I just opened updater.sh and modified it to not check for the file.

Nice! But what the hell does it mean? Where the file is? How to update that?
The updater.sh -Skript you can find in the zip-file for example when you opening it with winrar, 7zip or something else ...
Look in the zipfile of your CM nightly ..
I think wsteel edit the file and removed the request for the partition layout or he set it "true" in the skript so he would not ask while flashing ...

You don't need to worry about that file. When the warning comes, just check "install zip" again and it will be flashed. It is just a warning. Anybody who reads opening post can find that info there.

Meantime I have dug in forums and found another solution, which I have implemented and it worked: I have started from the beginning installing safe stock ROM, then I've rooted with Overcome 4, and then I've installed a 10.1 custom ROM. After that I could install any ROM without this interruption and message.
...and it's all about the SG Tab P1000...
Thanks for the info ...so now you can flash your ROM which you wanted ...

Once you take off for upgrading to CM10.2 the partition warning will appear again, as CM10.2 uses now different system partition size than the CM10.1x does. Don't care about that, just choose again "install zip".
Just don't forget to backup all your data (contacts, sms, app data etc). Once upgraded, you should be able to restore /data from your nandroid backup done by CM10.1x (under "advanced restore") Titanium backup can restore app data.
Hi everyone.
First of all, i am sorry if my question has been answered somewhere. i have searched thoughout this and other sites and have asked in several threads, with no reply.
I have rooted my Gear (impactor) but my SU binary update just fails installation every time. Someone told me this is not fatal, so after 2 days, i tried the next steps and am able to load the null zip file, install it, but at the very end, with no error message, it reboots to download mode. everytime. at this point i have to use odin to load the stock recovery and start again.
No guide or comment in any thread suggests anyone has had this problem. As you can probably tell, this is all quite new to me, so I do understand that it could just be me doing something wrong, that others may take for granted.
Also, my null installation says i am installing onto a i9300 - is this normal?
1)How can i manually update the su binary (tried superuser, superuser fixer. busybox), and is that related to the rom not working?
2)Why does the installation get to the very end but then just reboot into download mode...?
I just want to be able to use this rom but nothing i try is letting me get past this stage. Any help would be appreciated massively.

Have you read the instructions ?
You need to flash the recovery first, then flash the rom. The rom is for THE GEAR, not your phone.
Right !!

I did read it, and i did follow it. Ive done almost nothing on my phone, and flashed the recovery(odin), moved the rom zip to the watch (adb or wondershare) - and then gone into recovery mode to install it.
Was this wrong? Or have i missed something important?

Hello everyone,
I have a rooted Motorola Droid, running Android version 2.2. I downloaded a .APK file, and whenever I try to install it, it gives me a message saying "Parse error." This is a .APK that has worked on all my previous rooted phones, does anyone know how to fix this? By the way, I've already enabled unknown sources.

If you're installing from the SD Card using a file manager, maybe try redownloading. If the same apk installs on a later android version then it mean it's not available for Android 2.2.
You could try installing a custom rom. There's not many to choose from but they work.

I just got home from work and I'm getting the same error. Google cache can pull the site up, but I still can't download the file. Maybe too much traffic? Hopefully someone who downloaded it can post a mirror.
EDIT: It's downloading for me now.
EDIT 2: Downloaded it and uploaded to my Google Drive. Here's a link for anyone having trouble:

There are just boot.img and system.img in lineage.zip.

does our twrp not have the ability to flash .img files?
I would steer clear of this rom for now until we have a *fully* working TWRP. Currently flashing an A/B OTA will break things, not to mention you probably don't have firmware on your other slot, so you're risking potentially bricking your device.
Trust me, I'm the one who got Lineage running on this thing. Wait for a bit, there will be a thread with more information soonish.
Thread closed. OP please PM me once things (TWRP, workaround) are fixed.
