This is the thread for CM10 on the LG NEXUS 4. It's a major work in progress. It may cause all the things in the disclaimer to happen, or steal your girlfriend while you are busy flashing ROMs.
Install instructions:
1. Install ClockworkMod Recovery for "Nexus 4" from either Rom Manager or directly from here
1a. If you want Clockwork Touch Recovery please click here
Sorry, CM cannot provide support for other recoveries, although they may work fine.
2. Get the nightly build here
3. Reboot into recovery and install.
Google Apps are not included in this ROM. You'll need to find those yourself if you want them.
But I will make it easy for you, just click here to get the latest gapps or here

Thanks!

HOW TO REPORT BUGS OR PROBLEMS?
- Was it a hard reboot? Get me the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
- Was it a soft reboot or a "boot loop"? Run "adb logcat" and get me the full output.
- Pastebin links preferred
NIGHTLY BUILDS
Are HIGHLY experimental. Do not post issues to the issue tracker. Chances are the CM team already knows about the issue and are working to fix it. Be patient flash the next nightly. Complaning about battery life or any number of issues will not change a thing as to that these are EXPERIMENTAL builds!!!
M-Series
Something we have learned over the past few months is that if you don’t release, someone else will do it for you. Since we are open-source, we absolutely encourage it! Unfortunately, the quality of unofficial builds can vary, and we are serious about quality. Of course nightlies are always available, but we realized that having something that is a bit more stable on a more frequent basis is important. Starting now, we are rolling out our M-Series releases. M-Series builds will be done at the beginning of every month. We did a soft freeze of the codebase for the last week, blocking new features in order to stabilize. Our plan is to continue this (assuming that the response is good) up until stable release, and onward.
We aren’t exactly sure what M stands for. “Monthly”, “milestone”, or perhaps “MINE ALL MINE!”. Whatever it is, I hope that we are meeting the needs of community.
M-Series builds will be available under the EXPERIMENTAL tag. The filename will include the date stamp as well as the M version. These builds should be stable enough for daily use, and we encourage feedback and bug reports.
RELEASE CANDIDATE
Everything is believed to be working at the time of release.

Very good!

That's not the issue; the 11/28 gapps build for 10.1 cannot be found. Perhaps it corrupted during uploading?

Apparently they pulled it down because too many 4.1 users were flashing it and messing up their device.

Flashed this first official nightly over the top of the last unofficial build, as I had just recently done a full wipe and couldn't be bothered doing another one. Everything working fine.
Love the newly-ported notification bar settings from CM10 to CM10.1 for circular battery with percentage, etc, which wasn't in latest unofficial build.
Looking forward to daily flashes now!

Flash this gapps. It should get Wallet working: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012857

I use it allready as a daily driver. Have installed it yesterday at 3pm and no issue till now...
:good:
Edit:
New Version Online... will install it^^

Installed 29th Build with wiping cache only.
Works flawless but still needs some localizations (I'm from germany and still many of the string in settings are englisch) but it's lower priority...
Didn't see anything new in it so mainly bugfixes I think

dmo580 said:
Ok lots of arguing, but regarding the ROM, what's the verdict? Mostly working? Close to daily driver status? Not sure if I should wait a couple days. I tell myself I should enjoy stock a bit before I become a ROM flashaholic.

It's rock solid, just as fast and smooth as stock, and the only things missing are some CM10 features that have yet to be ported over to CM10.1. It's brilliant, don't hesitate in trying it and using it as a daily driver.

In second nightly settings for notification led ar gone, was there in the first build.

its an update, just a dalvik cache wipe actually though normally i do both and there are plenty that argue the need for either lol and there are some on the forum who do a full wipe. Personally i never seem to have a problem doing just a dalvik from cwm or doing both caches from recovery. I update nightly unless there is no relevancy for my device.

Is it possible to replace ADW (and possibly remove ADW) with stock launcher? Where could I find stock launcher?
Guys, how to get the GTalk with video calls working?
Just installed 7.1 over 7.0.3 + latest google apps. I just wipe dalvik cache.
It went smooth, the current version in my Nexus S 'About' is 2.3.4, BUT the gtalk app is old-fashioned, without video calling buttons.
The versions of Google Talk is 1.3
How do I fix this?
Thanks.

YOU'RE ALIVE. Lol, we miss you. And thanks for the great builds, CyanogenMod and Kali....
Been using CM9 RC1 for a couple hours now and everything is running pretty good.
The only thing i'm noticing is lag and screen tearing on stock launcher, and that's with or without forcing gpu rendering or surface dithering.
Other then that, everything seems stable enough for a daily driver.
Thank You CM Team!
EDIT: Seems to be happening with other launchers and with window and transition animations...

So I use the4 latest and no problems here but is there anything you can elaborate on that might have caused conflicts?
I've always wondered why I have a greenish look on CM9.
changing kernels solves the problem. Looks like color hue is off.
Any ideas ? why is this kernel related ?
would anyone care to share any major differences between AOKP and CM9? Would flash myself but don't have the time at the moment
Screen tearing on white background is the reason I stop flashing CM9 two month ago... I guess it was never fixed...

I've been on AOKP for awhile and never had the issue. I just flashed the RC1 this morning with 04292012 gapps and the matr1x kernel (v22) and mine is not greenish. (Sorry I didn't even boot before flashing kernel).
I've only been running it today with this setup and it is really fast and snappy.

I just switched from AOKP today and the main difference is bootanimation, launcher and AOKP has a little more customization options. :silly:
Honestly though, this build is running really nice and fast and I sure missed CM's "go to sleep" button in the notification pull down. So who knows what I'll do...

"my" rom is just plain CM11.
Not entirely sure, but you can try and flash it over (and add GAPPS aswell), and hope it'll use your data partition as is. Tho it might conflict

Running ART? If yes, that might be why. I got the same gapps fc with it.
You can try and clear it's cache tho, that might fix it

That solved it thank you.
So many apps crashes on ART, Titanium Backup, Whatsapp, Viber, Helium, etc. Hope they'll update these apps.
Yes they do for me to. But with the aokp rom everything works flawlessly with art on. Wonder why it doesn't work with this one.
BTW @LaMaaH your rom rocks. Just updated to your latest and it's smooth as butter.Anyway you could look into Art?

[Discussion] CyanogenMod 11.0 Nightlies for Nexus 5 (hammerhead)

*** I AM NOT THE NEXUS 5/HAMMERHEAD DEVICE MAINTAINER, I'M JUST GETTING THIS THREAD STARTED ***
CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4.1 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
*/
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.
Instructions:
First time flashing CyanogenMod 11.0 your device, or coming from another ROM?
Download the zip(s).
Optional: adb backup
Fastboot oem unlock > fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
Wipe data & cache partitions of your device (required when coming from stock!).
Flash CyanogenMod.
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.
Issues?
Experience issues? As these are nightlies, bug reports are not accepted. You are relying on yourself and your peers in this thread for support!

GENERAL COMMENT AND REQUEST:
We ask all the regular contributors here to please answer the "xxx is broken" or "yyy force closes" statements without an attached logcat with something like "LOGCAT or it didn't happen"
Feel free to be creative but DO NOT respond with wipe cache/clear data or any other attempted solution before the reporting user has taken the trouble to actually try to help solve the problem (e.g. by attaching a logcat, detailed steps to reproduce etc.).
We need to force more discipline in how issues are reported which will help us all find and squash bugs that may exist.
Just clearing data etc. may in fact cause us to never find the bug that caused the issue and just makes for lazy users.
The CyanogenMod team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!
Yayyyyyy

I've no idea, I'm not part of CM. I'm just posting the basic thread. I'm guessing CM will be updated in due course. Todays nightly is 4.4.1, though (I downloaded it)
Woohoo! Will flash as soon as I reach home

Is the ROM still pretty stock or are there a lot of customizations from cm already?

I don't know, I'm not even running it. I was literally starting the 'official' thread as no one from CM had to date

Oh I assumed you were running it. My bad, thanks for putting the thread together though, I would've had no idea it was out for the nexus 5 already if it weren't for you

Has anyone gotten the youtube app or any other streaming video to work yet?

Right you are, and since the 6th too I see, haha I'm so out of the loop.
Does anyone know if the sms encryption is included in these latest builds or is that still a 10.2 only feature so far?
Sick of it

It was announced on their website + also on CM's G+ page almost a week ago. There was a milestone release and this is like the 5/6th nightly.
