I rooted my phone using a method from rootgalaxynote with odin and I flashed on TMT 4 jellybean and I became unstable after a few days and started bootlooping and vibrating with black screen so i tried to unroot andnnow i believe its stable i flashed the latest stock rom and then updated to ICS 4.0.4 but now there's no mobile network access. I checked with at&t no fix on their end. my kernel says [email protected] - 64 #3 SMP PREEMPT Mon Jul 16 20:50:37 KST 2012 Please save me! I really want to root and flash some good jellybean multiwindow action but what i REALLY REALLY NEED is for my phone to give me 4g. Honorable xda please help.
Please help me I'm no fool I just need my mobile internet!

Firstly, the note doesn't support 4g,so you'll never be able to get it. Do you mean 3g? Secondly check the apn settings in network and post screen shots.

Okay yeah sorry about the dupe, spacing out. There is nothing there. just black screen (with menu options available). I guess that means i need to put one in right?

That's right, if you Google your operator apn settings you should be able to find them quite easily.

If you are interested in samsung jb leaks, there is no need to root. Download it from samfirmware.com and flash it using odin. Later if you want to root, use philz kernel for xxlsa to auto root.

The stock jb rom seems to be the most stable with out all the tweaks add in I'm running a stock rom with a modified build.prop that I missed and some theme changes and v6 super charger scripts and can say my rom is very stable and smooth with no issues for my use

I have just aquired an sgs i9000 (£259.95 from uk carephone warehouse) and am finding things a little different after using an htc desire for the last year.
After poking around the forum, i have managed to install I9000XXJVP 2.3.4 gingerbread using odin.
My question is, is it possible for me to now install speedmod-kernel-k15h-t12-300hz using odin to gain root access or have i misread the situation?
Sorry if this sounds a bit noobish but, if the above is correct, will i lose all of my apps and settings if doing so?
Advice would be much appreciated.
If you flash a kernel you won't loose any data.

Thanks for your reply.
So can i simply flash the kernel that i mentioned on my stock 2.3.4 or is there something else to do first and if yes, does this automatically give me root?
Sorry to be a noob, but i am new to these procedures and it all seems too simple to me!
It will give you root, yes.
But I'm not quite sure if this kernel fits for JVP...
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
speedmod's kernel won't automatically root your phone but you can root it once you've flashed it via the option in recovery mode.
but i agree you should check that it is compatible with JVH; i'm on KC1 so not too sure.
i mean JVP!
There should be a CF-Root version for JVP too, thod kernel is as stock as possible but gives you root.

hi to all again
I've just been looking at some more rom's for my sgs but i'm haveing some trouble trying to find the right way to get Simply Honey 3.8 Revolution on my phone.
I am currently running:
Firmware: 2.2.2
Baseband: I9000XXJVE
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
[email protected]#22
Build: Darky's v9.5.XWJS8
So if you could please point me in the right direction.
Cheers madant2011
1- Disable lagfix if you are using it, backup EFS, etc.
2- Flash stock JVP via ODIN
3- Flash CFroot kernel via Odin
4- Flash GingerHoney via CWM
Thanks for your help, I'm all done now exeped for which is the best kerrnel to run and were to get it from.
cheers again

Changing of bootanimation does not require u to change ur kernel.Changing of kernel will not make u lose ur root access.Only changing of roms make u lose ur apps unless u install (no wipe) roms. Before changing kernel u need to disable lagfix before changin kernel to prevent problems appearing

Are you sure is not required? i've seen everywhere that only some kernels supports changing of bootanimation. How can i change bootanim w/o flashing new kernel?

Try absolute system tools for great interface with previews and massive choice of boot animations
Is that an app available on market?

Anyway the problem is not where/how to place .zip file... The problem is that lot of kernels don't recognize .zip bootanimations, but just .qmg boots.

If u wanna play safe,
go back to GB, flash the leak then Liquid...
any reason y u switch from CM9 to Liquid?
OK,thanks

I seem to remember a couple of users going directly from CM9 to Stunner and Liquid and some of them had reported that they lost root. No other consequences than that.
Hmm,that sounds a lot easier.if I did go with this method how would I get root back?

It's easy, yes, but getting root back isn't and the procedure might brick your phone. I wouldn't recommend it, no way. It's better for you to go back to GB as suggested earlier.

It is worth upgrading to 404 as battery life is better, transitions and window animations are smoother than 403.
I'm using CF Root 5.6 LRG kernel and stock odex rom with some bloatware removed.
Well its my personal experience.
You'll sure hear some people advise you to downgrade to GB :silly:
You can download 404 with Check Fus Downlaoder.

No ICS Kernel is 100% safe.
When performing a Full wipe (Data/Cache), always flash the Abyss 4.2 Kernel first And reboot back into recovery!!!, and then wipe.
and what's the relevance between you going away and the urgent itch to upgrade?
No reason to upgrade lol....i just a flashaholic

Regarding CF Root 5.6 kernels. Samsung has released new sources but we still do not know if brick bug is fixed.
Better safe than sorry - always use GB kernels to be 102% sure and safe.

Flash CFR 5.6 with mobile odin.
use only the kernel that came with the firmware, i doubt also that other kernels will work with MIUI.
