Personally had issues with batteries from china/hong kong, also they have been know to lie about size of memory on memory cards and basically just labeling over stock batteries with fake labels. If you were wanting an extend battery I would suggest getting one from a reputable company such as mugen or another name brand company. I highly doubt a battery less than $20 will be any better than the oem. If there were a way for samsung to get a larger mah battery in that size they would have. I think your best bet is either getting another oem battery or purchasing an extended battery with the larger housing. IMO
Mugen is definitely the best battery wise, so if u can find a good case with or without wearing the back cover then I'd go with that if that's in your price range

This is what I recommend.
I posted here showing a picture of the Onite extended battery I have and had someone comment on it showing that is wasn't fully snapped on to the back cover, well it was. The picture of the Mugen extended case, as provided in the same thread, has the official picture of the GNote2 with the extended case on it and it blatantly shows it not connect. Check out the thread.
I had great success with anker batteries on my note 1. Lasted as long or longer as the stock battery. Still being used by my son after 10 months of use and getting same duration out of them. Just got the qcell 3800mah extended battery for my wife's skyrocket and she has gone over 2 days on it now. Not sure about the lifespan yet as she has only had it for 2 weeks.

I used the 50% off code listed in the accessories forum to get a battery directly from Samsung for $25. Well spent for piece of mind and two batteries is likely more than I will ever need. Carry one as a spare and rotate them every few days or so.
Not sure of the code is still good.

That's a lie, I've had this battery in my n85, it was worse than the original, and was to be much better.
I have had great experiences with Hyperion and Qcell batteries. My mom is using my old GS3 and she says that the Qcell extended battery is still lasting her 2 days. There is no way that Mugen is 4 times better than either of those batteries. It does have NFC though. When my gs3 was new, no extended batteries had nfc, but they eventually added it. My guess is, in a month or two, Qcell will add nfc to their case. So if you buy one now and one when they add nfc you will have 2 extended batteries for half the cost of the Mugen. As soon as Hyperion comes out with a case for the extended battery, I am going to buy theirs.

True, i forgot abou that. Charger and battery for the sameprice of just the battery.
Also any battery that claims to have much more capacity (3800mAh - 4200mAh or more) in a standard size batter is BS. Everyone dreams of that mythical 5000mAh standard size battery, but it doesn't exist.
Unless I'm going camping for more than 3 days I can't see needing my standard battery with a standard spare.

A full day with heavy usage, and battery to spare at bedtime? Winner in my book!

I got mine from Seidio on Monday; not a miracle battery but definitley better life than OEM. If you don't like the hunch-back look and want a second battery this is the way to go. I would extimate that it is giving me roughly 10% better life as they advertise.

Seidio battery may give a smidge more life; build is pretty poor though, and seems to be made of some paper-like or cardboard/plastic material, covered with not very well-fitting cellophane. i just bought a 3600mAh mugen off ebay. works great my first week using it. i get between a 1.5 and 2 days of usage where previously, i'd be dead by 9pm of day 1.
what size battery is that ?

On HTC Express, I can get 2 batteries at 1900 mAh for $24. Or for $29 I can get 2 batteries at 1800 mAh with a wall battery charger. My charger wire that I have now is falling apart though, and isn't working right. What should I get?
Go with the two 1900 mAh, it's a better deal.
I got two 1900's with a wall charger for $30 a while back on amazon. Never used the wall charger, never touched the second battery. Good for backup I suppose, but unnecessary.
Get the ones with the batter charger...can never hurt to have a spare charger around

Received my order from HTCExpress the other day. $29 for 2 1900 & charger (don't know if the special still exists - I haven't checked since). Like someone else stated, the fact you can retain your cover sealed the deal! Also doesn't hurt to keep an extra battery on hand either.

I read that someone was having troubles fitting the standard door over one of those 1900's. They said that the door wouldn't completely snap in all the way around. What's your experience with the fit?

Now are the 1900's true factory OEM's or not? Go to Batteryboss.org, I know there isn't much for the incredible there, but look at the actual mAH of the OEM batterys(almost spot on), to the actual mAH that you get out of the after market ones. Some of the ones that are even 500-600 more get less then OEM versions...

sorry for the late reply. I haven't a problem with the 1900. You have to make sure the battery is seated firmly/flush and the cover snaps on all sides. At first I thought the cover wouldn't snap, then I noticed my battery wasn't completely flush, so after I reseated, cover snapped shut on all sides. snug but shut.

These probably have the same juice as a OEM evo 1500 battery at the most, because their not authentic HTC...

I have two of these. It helps to charge them fully using external charger then put in your phone fully charged and clear battery stats. It takes one or two cycles to notice a difference. I usually charge one with the external charger and switch in the morning. I get great battery life with the 1900 ( I think its really 1800) and cm7 with tiamat kernel

Definitely a tighter fit.. I had a bit of a worn back and it wouldn't stay on with the bigger batt.. New back = no problem..
+1 for the OEM 1500mah battery off ebay for $12 shipped. Cleared 2 days(2d 9h) w/ average use on and off 3G. This is 3 cycles in. Very pleased so far.

get the seidio battery. this is the second extended battery i've bought from them. (had one for my evo 4g) so far it's been great. i can go at least 2 days on a single charge. just make sure you follow the instructions to get the most out of it. i charged mine over night and just let it completely die out. i'm using the matr1x kernel and i have it clocked at 1.2

The battery cover is nice too. Just make sure you order the correct battery, the 4G is different from the regular NS and a few people left comments about it not fitting on Amazon.

Update - Im getting a solid two days of heavy use with this battery. I love not having to run to the charger. The second charge got me to 56hrs and I was at 4% IIRC. I forgot to take a screenshot though Ill take one on this charge. By this time of day Id already be down into the 60-70% range on the stock battery, but right now Im sitting at 81%
Side note - I also picked up the Seidio spring belt clip, and it fits perfectly with the extended battery due to the way the battery cover is. Its very sturdy and still gives you access to the lock button, volume rocker, charging port and headphone jack. Its also got a nice felt lining to protect the screen. I got it on eBay for $18 shipped.
Almost forgot to add, Im running NSCollab oc'd to 200 (screen off) 1200 (screen on) on demand.
Are there any extended batteries that will work with the stock back cover?

Thats why I went with the Seidio. Its nowhere near as sexy as the stock battery cover, but the Mugen cover is much worse. Its just a big lump of plastic.
How different are the battery doors between the NS and the NS 4G? I need a couple of cheap extended batteries from eBay and the ones for the 4G are scarce and there are more choices for the NS.

Correct, its the same battery, but they use different doors if you go with an extended battery.

Bulk? No, its a direct fit with out the need of a larger back. Weight? possibly a little, not sure on that aspect.
What about 3500? I just bought a seidio case for my LG Thrill and ordered a 3500 battery as well. Can someone care to explain?

That case will not work with the 3500. The 3500 requires a different backing that the case will not fit over.

I now only buy the Anker(sp?) batteries on ebay....they are cheap, and the only ones that appear to hold a full charge
many of the cheap 1900's I have bought are only like 900-1200
every Anker battery we have appears to be true capacity as listed
I got my 3500mAH battery finally. I can say that it adds bulk and weight. It also adds at the minimum twice the battery life. I would say I think it really is closer to three times as long. Yes it has a hump but is very comfortable to hold. With the new battery it is more like it should have been from the start with the original battery. You should not have any problems making it through a day of heavy use or two days light to normal use. This battery also takes along time to charge. I am very happy with the performance. Though I would still like to find a case the would fit the phone with this new hump on it. Lol
I would also like to find a case to fit the extended battery back. I just got this phone and the battery life is horrible even when compared to my HTC Inspire. I want to order the 3500mAH battery and extended back, but I also don't want my phone to be naked either. It's a toss up.
Darn I'm so tempted to buy the 3500 mah battery but I can't afford for it to blow up on me.. IF it does.... I traded my samsung infuse for this so I have no way in returning it. ):
Hopefully there's more people testing these batteries out so I can get one in a couple months.

I will test it out and report back my results to the forum.
Day 2 of using the aftermarket battery; So far so good. Took longer to charge than the stock battery, but that's on par with having a higher rated mAh.
I've been using the 3500mah extended battery since September 20th. So far, so good! Im getting double battery life and my phone hasn't exploded yet... lol... it does add some considerable bulk to the phone because of the custom backing that's required, but I personally think its worth it.

Re color, I haven't carefully looked at the battery cases in the light to see a difference but it looks like it matches the T-Note to me. For me the only part of the note that 'has' color is the battery cover so by replacing it entirely with the Mugen battery cover I don't notice a mismatch. Also cannot see a difference between the bezel color and the mugen case cover (except for gloss).
Re nfc the antennas are there. I haven't tested it yet.

anyone know if this fits the U.S. note with the mugen extended battery? I know it says the international version only but i'm not sure if that would be too much of an issue

I bought that same case on Amazon. It works on the extended battery I have, although my battery back is different than the Mugen (forgive me I don't know how to post a link but here is the info if anyone wants to search on Amazon):

I like the case you inquired about however the power button is very difficult to press. That's my only complaint, however I have not found any other case options for Notes w/ extended batteries!
FYI for anyone interested, I am pleased with my off brand battery. I originally wanted the Mugen because of their reputation and the flat back w/stand however Mugen could not tell me if the NFC on their door worked w my Tmobile Note. I didn't want to risk it for almost $100. The off brand battery was $20bucks (even cheaper now) and so far is great. Gives me twice the usage. Beware though as the NFC on my phone doesn't work though and am now waiting for a replcmt door from Rkwireless.

nfc works on my mugen 5400mah extended battery. I love this battery! I went camping this weeknd. Watched a full movie with full brightness, took over 50 pictures, used to it text, call, check email, check facebook and used it as a flashlight at night. I unplugged it at 4pm friday and only needed to plug it back in at 930am sunday (today). It was down to 9% at that point. thats 41.5hrs on a single charge. thank you mugen!
*mine came with a mugen pouch too. did anyone else get that? I hadn't heard of anyone else getting a pouch/case with the battery until i got mine. I ordered the hyperion case but they sent me the wrong one, but the pouch works until amazon can send me the right case.

How are the mugen extended batteries doing? Any other good options? I would like to use one for when I go out of town for business. I typically have to leave early in the morning and then return home later in the evening. I have trouble staying in one place long enough to charge my phone, and I keep forgetting the second battery I bought. It would be nice to snap the extended battery on the night before, charge it, and then not worry if I have enough juice to get back home without carrying extra wires, batteries etc. I could get an external 10,000mah battery, but trying to travel light. I already left behind a charger in the TSA security area. When I realized it and returned it was gone (of course).
I ended up just buying an Anker Astro e3 with 10,000mah of power for when I need to bring it. It's working great so far. Nice to know I can fully charge my phone four times with it if I'm on the standard battery.
