It needs to be included in bootloader. I think LG switched fastboot with their own alternative.
I know I've seen pictures and post about people stuck in fastboot mode with very old (V10*) firmware.
You could put this is the build.prop
debug.sf.nobootanimation=1
it would disable the LG icon and make it load a bit faster

Well seeing as fastboot is an Android utility for your computer, I'm thinking no it cannot reflashed on to your phone
A search found me nothing sooo... Can i just push a new kernel? From an already custom kernel. Right now i have intersectravens and my battery life is horrible. I wanna flash to a better kernel but not sure which. Help?
-Thanks
Yes, make sure you replace the proper wifi driver that matches the new kernal so you don't break wifi.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633238
I use this kernel. Do a nandroid first just to be safe and flash the kernel of your choice.
I was thinking about this one 800 OC
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=654416
Could i just simply do the install steps?
Yes.
Pushing of the bcm4329.ko is necessary as WiFi support would be broken otherwise. If you don't do it, WiFi will not work.
can someone tell me how to change a kernel to a different one? Some require to load up fastboot and type commands. I dont know how to do that. the one I have I just flashed in recovery

Yup - read the first post in a thread on a kernel you'd like to flash. Easy!

How did you unlock your phone without fastboot?
i got the fastboot working on retail unlocked bootloader version of GalaxyTab 10.1
the issue i found.
on fastboot mode. it can't show bootloader version. it show Unknown. beside that. everything works.
backup.bat is for backup your stock bootloader
ioboot.bat will replace your stock to io version bootloader
stock.bat will restore your stock bootloader
before run all those script. you have to put your GalaxyTab 10.1 to apx mode first.

This only work with IO version or retail version will work too?
this one is for retail version which got unlocked bootloader

Does this mean the unlocked retail tab can have access to the fastboot and recovery console using the power + vol down combo just like io ?

yes. you will have option for fastboot or recovery. i got fastboot, recovery, odin and apx on my 10.1 now
I guess my question is what's the difference between the fastboot option here and the regualr CWM recovery that was provided in earlier threads?

He just wanted his own post deleted because he posted something stupid or in the wrong thread. It happens all the time.
EDIT### I am careless. I read the apx mode thing when this thread first came up and then forgot about it when i went to actually flash this.

Finally the one person who understood it properly. Thanks.
How it got bricked:
I managed to install root, but then I tried to flash the custom recovery, when I restarted the phone, It got stuck at boot logo.
I can still get into the stock recovery, I can use adb shell and see the filesystem. I was using 4.1.2, I think I might need to flash again the stock rom, but I don't know how. Can anyone help please?

I'm sorry if I'm asking something terribly obvious, but I've bought my phone in amazon and neither my country or carrier are listed there, so, I don't know what to flash, will it break my phone if I flash something wrong? I would like to flash something from spain so I can use my native language

U can flash each version of kdz file you want.
I can only get into de SW Upgrade mode when I plug the phone with the battery on it, Is it really important to do it with the battery off?

Hello everyone.
Unfortunately my lg g4 bootlooped. And after extensive Google search, i see that most models have a tot file which disables big cores so u can run the phone on the small cores
Does the T-Mobile variant have such a tot file? if yes then can somebody give me the link? if no then can somebody create one using the following info?
Agimax said:
Why not just edit the files below for the two large cores (if you have root):
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu4/online (open file and change from a one to a zero)
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu5/online (open file and change from a one to a zero)
You could also just have the startup file do it (can modify the ripped system partition & put back on phone):
etc/dir/init.qcom.post_boot.sh (find your processor code - 8992 and add echo lines there with the rest of the cpu commands)

Someone also fixed the Nexus 6 bootloop by creating modified images which disable the big cores.
Can't we(mostly you, you're the big dev) create a similar modified image that we can flash through LGUP?

Afaik you need a box to create tot files.
Besides this I have never created any big core disabling but I know @the_naxhoo has.
if you can reach the download mode you could flash with the lglaf shell a modified boot image which is doing the job. If you do not have Linux get your copy of FWUL which has everything on board (like the lglaf shell).
The modded boot image has to disable the cores either by the cmdline or the sys echo or both. I saw that cmdline thing during my unlock attempts and think those are much better then the echo to sys..
Creating a kdz would be maybe possible
creating a TWRP zip for sure but I'm very very busy at the moment...
So just one more time (as still not answered.. ) do you had TWRP installed before the bootloop occurs?
...and If so what happens when you try to get into it?

Cmdline is how I disabled the cores on the Nexus, the fix is easy to do on a boot.img, but LG uses the KDZ files, which use a totally different file structure, and I'm not sure if the LG flash tool has file checks, even on unlocked bootloaders. I will do some research and see what I can do. If anyone has any knowledge on modifying kdz files, please tell me.

asked steadfasterx about kdz and his reply is as follows
steadfasterX said:
me too. never created KDZs yet but there are tools for it - afaik.
My first approach would have been to flash the boot image in the download mode with the lglaf shell (https://github.com/steadfasterX/lglaf/tree/g4) .
requires to do a flash of a modified boot image with dd on /dev/block/mmcblk0 with the correct seek ..
