If you look at htcdev.com at the first step it says "If you do not find your ROM version in the table below, and your ROM version is newer, then your device does not require the RUU. Please bypass these steps and continue to the next page." Actually is no RUU for Desire C. So I don't know if you downloaded a RUU and installed it, but that should be the problem if you did, you just need to click on that green words "continue to the next page". My phone was rooted yesterday and it works great and I needed to unlock the bootloader too. And I made it too.

I unlocked the bootloader with htcdev and i coudn't install the RUU. I downloaded from internet this RUU_GOLF_U_ICS_40A_HTC_Europe_1.45.401.4_R_Radio_10.11.98.09_1.06.98.13M2_release_265825_signed rom and i have that error. What can I do to put htc europe stock rom?.
Thank you very much for your answer.
The RUU needs locked bootloader in order to work.
Try relocking it.

Good day to all!
Sorry for this question, I know it is asked and discussed a lot.. BUT!
I have searched and searched over google and XDA and can't find it no where.
All the links are out-dated and on some forums they write that HTC Runnymede is the official stock rom and on others they say HTC pyramide is the stock rom.
So I am very confused now and besides being confused, I can't find any working link for downloading the HTC Sensation XL stock Europe rom.
I need to unroot my device so I really need the rom fast.
I already 'relocked bootloader', only need the RUU.exe to unroot and install stock rom.
Please help me out.
F4LLCON
PS. This one http://www.filefactory.com/f/2c6cbf04d4909b70/
plus the other one found on XDA do not work
I get the 'All free download slots are in use.You can download this file immediately by upgrading to FileFactory Premium. Otherwise, please feel free to try again shortly.

error while trying to download.
Any direct links would be amazing
PSS. I found one here http://www.fileserve.com/file/b87exyj/RUU_Runnymede_HTC_Europe++_1.05.401.4_R2_Radio_20.5101.30.0822_3822.10.10.12_M_release_223366_signed.exe download time over 1 hour geez...

hi , at first , you need to know that Runnymede is the name of stock rom for Htc sensation XL ,and pyramid is the name of Htc sensation ( the first one ).
then if you need to unroot your phone you can follow the steps on HTCdev.com the give you the steps to unroot .
after that ,all the runnymede.exe doesn't work ,i don't know why ,but some says that because the compatibility or the boatloader is locked, anyway, there is a methode to extract rom from Ruu if you want to install the official rom but i dont taste it , or install the official rom flashable on the section developer ,i use one of the and am really satisfied ,it look like the official rom .
i hope it will help u

Thanks for the information about which rom is for what phone
BTW. I managed to download the RUU.exe I needed, link provided above in my post. (download time over 1 hour.....)
I locked my bootloader by using 'fastboot oem lock' in cmd in windows while connected phone in fastboot USB
Then I re-started my phone and bootloader was 'relocked'. Then I started up my phone and turned on debug in development (options in android) turned of fastboot in options somewhere in android, I think under power.
Then just run the RUU.exe and it just installed stock rom, so it unrooted the phone. REMEMBER you can't install stock rom on unlocked bootloader, need to relock it.
But after that I just unlocked the bootloader again and rooted my phone and installed CWM recovery and installed ICE COLD ZOMBIE. But draw something app in android did not start. crashed and phone was a bit laggy. I had backed up my android with CWM before installing ICE COLD ZOMBIE, so I just restored that and everything was fast again.
Hello all, I'm new here but have a moderate understanding of all your delights
I recently unlocked the bootloader on my SXL, then instaled a custom ROM.
I have searched on our SXL forum and have found a few links to the RUU for Europe but non of these links work for me.
When the official HTC ICS update is released I would like to be able to install this so therefore will need the original RUU. Im in the UK and my operator is O2.
Please could one of you kind fella's provide me a link to a download for this.
Thanks.

No the Ruu's do not work on ALL devices as far as I know.
You need your region's rom.
Mine was EU, and besides that, you also need to relock your boot loader first until you can install stock rom's
But the good part here is, if you lock your boot loader - > run RUU.exe (any) and if your phone thinks it's a good RUU.exe it will start flashing, but if your device does not match the RUU.exe it will say you have the wrong RUU.exe for your device.
That's at least what I have read

When you get a CID Error trying to install an official RUU, the solution is you need to make and use a goldcard.

The downgrade script you are using will create a goldcard for you. Did you use that method? If so, then what size was your SD card? Do you have another SD card that you could try. It needs to be at least 2GB and 8GB seems to work the best.
Hello everyone.
I'm new to xda. I'm french and there are very few things in my language on this phone, so I just get information here (sorry for my english .. ^^)
I do a lot of research to answer my questions, but I'm a little confused, if you could help me put all clear
I have a Htc One version 1.28.163.3, I want to update to the latest version (1.28.401.7 I think), what should I pay attention? The CID (what it is, how I find)?
An official stock rom installs as a Custom ROM? It is there a site to find the official ROM without using xda?
Thank you to whoever wants to help me

Install this on your phone and run. It will show you which CID your phone has. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tritonsoft.cidgetter
I tried this app, but it gives me "CID is: [VODAP203]" or I have not seen any CID appear that way and I do not find a match ...
I found a tutorial in my language I was able to unlock the bootloader, activate the Root, to understand the origin of my CID. The goal was to make a Debranding and installing a RUU to have a phone Stock and able to enjoy the OTA updates. But change CID does not work, the operation works and there is no error, but the CID remains the same. This would apparently because of S-OFF. Can I change the CID or not?
where would we get the RUU for the HTC ONE?????
There are many links on the forum. But I took this one : http://bugsylawson.com/index.php/fi...2706-1027112701-release-308001-signed-2-4exe/

You can't change it until S-OFF is achieved which shouldn't be long considering many brilliant developers want this phone and that it is a Qualcomm device.
You think S-OFF will not take a long time before coming?
I have the 64GB Developer Edition. I am looking to full restore. I downloaded what I thought to be the correct RUU, but it errored out telling me it wasnt the right one. This is what I downloaded:

Usually you need to relock the bootloader before flashing an RUU but I dont know how that would work on the Dev edition...
I just tried re-flashing the stock signed recovery from the zip file download from HTC and it just hangs at "Entering Recovery". FML

I used the US version from here: http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads
It's just an exe you run in windows. It fully restored the device. I did have to go through the bootloader unlocking process afterwards though. Seems kind of funny that I had to "lock" what shipped unlocked only to unlock again. Ohh well, such is life in the green robot world.

Make sure you have the HTC Sync Manager installed. This loads the correct USB drivers for the device to work in fastboot/adb etc. You may be able to install the drivers separately from another source, but this option worked for me.
For some reason it won't work..

Hello everyone
I have some trouble with returning to full stock. Yesterday I thought that I totally bricked my phone. Today it's working on UK Version from one of thread searched in this forum. I have RUU file for my version (i think so). When I'm try to follow steps from tutorials, it ends with fail
Now I have philz recovery, and stock rom UK version.
I started RUU on XP and follow the steps, when I am chosing update it doesn't find my phone.
Maybe it's the case that I have S-ON?
I'm not expert in this area, so please be patient.
Many thanks in advance.

Being s-on doesn't mean anything you can still fix and return a phone to stock and if you already have the phone up and running just find out what your carriers APN is and input that info and you'll be able to get back online and make calls, texts etc.. If you want to S-Off for more control then visit The Root Ninja Sunshine S-Off HTC Desire 510

Hi there,
I'm online now, I can make calls etc. But I just want to know, it's possible to return to full stock (I mean recovery, kernel and rom).
I tried to use RUU, but i doesn't work.
When I'm in bootloader I see :

*** UNLOCKED ***
*** Security warning ***
When I'm running RUU, I see only option to update software, but on my phone is UK version, and RUU which I use is EU version.

The EU version I posted works for your phone however i'd keep your phone the way it is because you will have to lock the boot again and reinstall a stock recovery to run the RUU which I can't seem to find(the stock recovery) for your phone and without it you cannot run any RUU.

Actually, I found stock recovery for EU version (on polish forum, btw I'm from Poland). But I don't want to put in there, before I test it. So, please verify my steps.
1. Relock the bootloader. After that I see information which I posted in my previous post.
fastboot oem lock
fastboot reboot-bootloader
2. Reboot to bootloader, flash stock recovery.
fastboot flash recovery [name of my stock recovery]
fastboot reboot bootloader
3. Reboot to bootloader, run RUU.
After that I should have stock software. If I made somewhere any mistake, please tell me. If it will be okay, I'll upload a recovery, so the others will been able to do the same thing.

It's most likely stuck because your stock recovery is either not the correct one, or installed incorrectly. The RUU is known to stop there when it detects that the recovery partition has been modified and doesn't have the stock one on there... I also have no idea where to get you a stock recovery.img... I'm sure there is one around the net somewhere, if you search for it.
What do you exactly mean? I try to extract recovery from rom.zip from RUU temp folder but archive is incorrect or something like that. Later I'm going to extract it using unruu on Ubuntu 15.10.
