Is there any announcement from Samsung, for official 4.1.2?
When we will expect it..?
"in december ..."
Can't wait..!!!:fingers-crossed:
6. Dezember..."in your boots"
Hope so, cuz Samsung is releasing the 4.1.2 to the I9300 now. Not sure if it will give it to us too or just some updates to make those people ( with I9300 ) happier as they don't have 4G.
Doubt it. I've just checked software update... nothing =(
I hope this come soon to our phones. There are those things that will make this phone better.
can't wait anymore
I just installed ausdims ported version and love it
Screw waiting lol

Why not? They're always like this.
Samsung have released 4.1.2 for the Korean SGS3 which I believe is Exynos Quad Core / 2GB RAM / 4G
Hopefully the i9305 should get the official update soon.

Thanks
Don't forget that it is up to your carriers to push it out to you guys so you may not ever get it (not all that likely though).
Just install a custom ROM and get 4.1.2 now

Installing on rooted phone
Official JB update for SGII wil be 03.03.2013, and I wanted to ask a question.I have a rooted phone with Siyah v5.0.1 kernel, with orginal ROM. Can I update my phone to official 4.1.2 with a rooted phone with Siyah kernel ? Or I must unroot my phone and get my stock kernel.
I now it may sound like a noob question but I'm new here so better I ask someone.
Thanks.

My phone was on LRK but I'm from the UK
Mine was From Italia, i changed to LRK because Germany always gets the updates first (at least for note, or at least the last 3 major updates) and I'm from Venezuela..
I see no point on changing roms to brasil or any south American carrier.. They get the updates months after the official its released...

There is no official jb out yet, we're still waiting. There are leaked source jb roms which are as close to stock as possible like lsa or lsc but they still have bugs.

Hi all, this may be a stupid question to ask, but i'm just a newbie here. I've been wondering what is the differences between these three firmware upgrade for SGSA GT-I9070? Hope that you guys can help me to clear all the differences. What i know is these firmware is upgrade version of SGSA from GB to JB. With all relevant answers, i appreciate it very much  Thank you in advance
I went to the Jelly Bean since December 2012 and now LPY version of any month I JB version, ie LQ4.
What I can say this last version is more stable with kernel Adi Pat, SIRI rc-4, I dont have any lag or FC, battery keeps me around for two days with a few hours of browsing, games, voice calls, without 3G, only WiFi.
Overall I am very satisfied with the current configuration.
Y was the first JB upgrade and then Z was released and now latest most stable build is LQ4. But still you require custom kernels to be lag free. An international official release is awaited this april

So, this mean the first version is a test and they upgrade to XXLPZ. later to LQ4 which mean almost bug free? i would consider to flash this LQ4 firmware but right now still enjoying JetMOD
now i download xxlqb wich is new than other? xxlqb or xxlq4
lqb is newer.
But is it better. I have lots of lag in it even with custom kernel as opposed to lq4

As the title states, I'm currently running stock:

Is there a better firmware out there that I should be running? I want to keep it as stock as possible, but I'm feel like I'm missing out on a newer firmware even though my Germany unit says I'm up to date.
Suggestions?

My personal advice would be, if you are insisting on purchasing a note it is a lovely device, I wouldn't replace mine with a newer galaxy S3 or even an S4. But I might consider a note 2 if I were you. The large screen is awesome.
Another word of advice is to keep the note as stock as possible, unless you love fiddling with modded ROMs, and that could be challenging.

You have xxlt9 firmware available which you can flash. Just make sure sure flash the carrier free version (not from vodafone or orange as it wouod be bloated like hell).
And the modem version is same that's xxlt3 so I dont think that would be an issue.
I'm from Indiabut using the UK latest furmware myself. No troubles at all.

And CM11 4.4 kitkat is out, but it's not a bugfree stock experience, and that's what I think the OP is asking for.
Just install a custom rom chances are it'll still be slow and laggy just like all other Samsung stock roms, once you go aosp/cm there's no going back to slow stock roms.

How to root 4.3 firmware for GT-I9305?
I'm not sure but i guess that you could flash custom roms without losing your warranty.
When you want to restore your warranty just flash the stock 4.1.2 with odin.?
Not sure if this works.
Since the 4.1.2 version doesn't have KNOX.

Hello Mate I asked the Same Question and i have already read the same replies i got which doesn't answer your Question and will probably leave you frustrated.
There is a Leaked Roadmap on XDA which is Basically a very short list of when they expect the update to be released.
I can tell you it said November/December so it could be any day really.
I have been on Sam Mobile and they have Released 4.3 for our Handsets in Germany, Germany (Vodafone) and Spain (Vodafone)
I have asked the Question if these can be installed on a UK Handset and change the Language or if it wont work.
I hope this Helps answer your Question
First of all, hi.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active I9295 with android 4.2.2 and I've seen on internet that 4.4 is out, but not for all devices.
I didn't received any notification through wi-fi, i checked for updates even using kies but no result.
I just want to ask.. can I update using another 4.4 version ? (from nordic countries or germany or etc).. without carrier-locking my phone ?
Do you recommend me any official 4.4. rom that would be compatible with my phone ?
And, not at least, are there any improvements in battery on Kit Kat ? (that's the reason I want to update, my battery sucks).
Right now I have baseband I9295XXUBML3; VERSION NUMBER JDQ39.I9295XXUBML3, KERNEL VERSION [email protected] #1.
Please answer as soon as possible.

It is safe to flash any other i9295 firmware. When the firmware for your country is released you can just reflash.
I'm still not sure.. are there any reasons to take the risk ?
I've seen a lot of people complaining about wi-fi and having to flash modem separately.. and so on.
So, it is 100% safe ? and are there any improvements which deserve the risk ?i
Hi,
i got this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2764500
works like a charm, for me.
I'm still on 4.2.2 as well as there has been no official update for me yet. Yay for Eastern Europe.
From what I've heard 4.4 should handle the battery a little better and microSD cards a lot worse. Apparendly Android 5 (Lollipop?) will fix the SD card trouble, look a lot more like Ubuntu Touch (rumoured Q4 2013 :silly: ) and will only take a few months until it is out (rumoured Q4 2014). So you can flash twice or wait and flash once. It depends on how you use your phone, though I doubt S4A will be getting Android 5 as an official Samsung update.
The flashing guides are good enough to minimize the risk either way.
Official OTA came for this firmware.. Kies didn't find any update btw.
I'll come with an edit or something else after it finishes.
// So far so good.
Everything works like a charm, battery looks promising, can't tell until a full charge.
Love white battery indicator.
Not big modifications btw, i'd have loved if they put S5 UI...
i have a device with basically the exact kernel, baseband version and build number, but i have no OTA update, and kies don't find any update, any idea why ?
baseband > I9295XXUBML3
kernel > 3.4.0-2015525 [email protected]#1
build > JDQ39.I9295XXUBML3

No. The firmwares ate optimized for specific regions, but they do not lock you in to a carrier. The major difference between the different versions will be the modems and the APN settings, so you may find that you get better signal with one version as opposed to another.
Hopefully somebody else can chime in and share their experience.
I want to download an update i saw on the sam mobile website.
So i can download and install any official firmware for i9295 on my phone, regardless the baseband, version number, etc? Right?!
My current carrier will still be working right?
