I want gingerXperia for custom kernel. No stock kernel things. When I was on stock kernel I used GingerXperia V8 or has it got an other name, I don't really remember. With that I had a stable 806Mhz overclock on stock kernel, and it was so fluid... But now I am on custom kernel only (Alfs CM version)

Nope. We have a lot of new gb roms,with better performance,battery life... You rom was good 4 months ago,now this new version is out... Sorry but thats my answer!

Have been using custom Roms for a couple of months, I always recommend custom software over Sony's stock, it's terrible.

using Froyobread v22. Good and stable. (v23b is out but my X8 is lagging after a while. fall back to v22)

Wanted to try GingerDX but so far all ginerbread Roms can only support VGA camera.
I need 3.2MP camera badly.
Keep on waiting for breakthrough ROM.

FroyoBread v023 is the winner for me, maybe I'll switch to GingerDX when the camera is fully supported. And yes I know doixanh isn't interested in getting the camera working, so I won't request it from him. But there are other developers out there, so I still have hope.
absolutely CUSTOM ROM.. xD ...using kuyaDROID..fast,stable everything works fine.. (except the camera xD )..thumbs up for CUSTOM ROM!!! xD

You will have to try some kernels like alfs or linuxDX, NAa kernel. The linuxDX and alfs are made for the gingerDX ROM but may work ok on gingercruzt

some people say that modules like mddi and oc if they are already in the kernel and in the rom the phone becomes unstable
is it stable and smooth ?
Its really fast and stable wouldnt go back to stock ever

Yes. You need delete modules from rom. Or get prepared version of GCR from my skydrive

I dont know which is best. Now lot of roms are build for custom kernel but i dont want it.
Users with stock kernels, please help.

I testing now MiniCM 6 and it damn FAST! The fastest rom i ever had! Thank for sugestion to install it. I must test this for a week or two.

PrimeHD is the best and most stable with more than 30+ hours battery life.
It isbased on GingerDx
Next I would recommend GingerDx
Froyobread has less features , but very good battery life.

I am using MiniCm7 2.2.0 right now, cuz with GingerDX my phones WiFi dont want to work. But yeahh MiniCm7 and GingerDX r both really good roms and i dont now any better roms. Have tested many roms but those two r best for me so far.
For me better than GDX is MiniCM7 2.2.0 and alfs8av5 by djnilse&alfsamsung

You could always try the ICS roms. Most of the kinks have been ironed out and MiniCM9 is quite smooth

You have to flash the nAa ics kernel first. Then wipe data and flash rom and gapps.

I tried v26 with alfs kernel, I even tried factroy reset but didn't worked just shows error while turning on...
