My main problem is: when i`m upgrading f/w, every time i have to do factory reset with cleaning of internal storage, or i`ll get this:
{

Even when i`m upgrading via SEUS WITHOUT factory reset i`ll get the same as above. If i get this, the only way to come back the phone - flash stiock f/w that i made by myself when i bought the phone.
Today i was triyng to make .195 f/w with root. I made reset, flashed via Flashtool UK generic .303, then got root, and changes "ric" file. Then, i think i should do a reset again, before update f/w via OTA, but i did not In a process of upgrading i`ve got another error message, , but i don`t have a snapshot of it. It reports about OTA update, i suppose. Then the whole mess started. Every f/w i was flashed via Flashtool didn`t boot my phone, even my stock .303 f/w. When i tried to charge the phone, i see this error sign again and the phone is not booting. I`m already said goodbye to my phone, but then tried to update via SEUS. I updated, and, the phone started to boot, but show me the picture that is above in this message. It means to me, that now i can try to flash my .303 stock, and maybe, with God`s help, the phone will work. And it is! I flashed my stock and the phone works fine, now in charging.
Well, i think all the problem is because of this main flashing problem, but i don`t know what means this sign. Maybe you can give me advice, what to do to flash f/ws without reset and don`t get this sign ?
The phone is Xperia T, from Poland, bootloader is locked, and some interesting thing, with my stock .303 f/w i don`t get message about OTA update, but PCC reports me about update on .197 f/w, NOT .195! Maybe the phone have some operator`s locks or something that not allowing me to flash f/ws ? I don`t know and don`t understand
Please, help me with advice.
PS Now i wnat to try the same thing, but before OTA update make a reset, maybe in this time everything will pass fine, but i`m afraid to brick my phone forever ((

If your bootloader is locked you will never brick your phone. You will always be able to restore a stock firmware.
I suggest you download PCCompaion and repair using that. Make a ftf from the downloaded files and then start with the rooting etc

I thought it too, that with locked BL i`ll never brick the phone, but imagine the situation, when you flashing ANY f/w using ANY flashing tool - you get this ! And what would you do with this ?
I hve FTF of f/w that was in phone from box, this is the only way to bring the phone back - flash this FTF. With any other f/w the phone doesn`t booting, but even when i`m flashed this only working f/w and then flash any other f/w WITHOUT factory reset, i`ll get this bug again and again. Even after phone`s native f/w that was in phone in box!

Boot loop often happens and means you can't boot into the rom....it's called soft bricked. If you have recovery and download mode still active your safe.
1-Did you check you got the right files ?
2-Did you check the md5sum of the files (if available) to make sure your download is not corrupted.
3-Did you download and flash the proper cwm and/or kernel
4-You missed something in the process. (Recheck #[email protected])

Hi thank you very much for answering. I managed to restart it by flashing a new rom downloaded online, a Froyo 2.2. As I am a little idiot if I write down infos about my firmware would you gently link me to a guide or tell me what should I do to upgrade in order do not do any mistake again? Anyway phone is from At&T but I'd like to unlock operator in order tu use my Italian sim.(before i screwed it up it was unlocked, as i bought it USED from ebay.)
Anyway these are the infos:
Firmware version 2.2
Baseband version I897UCJI6
Kernel version [email protected] #1
Build number:Froyo.UCJI6.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Hope to hear from you
PS: I used this to restore it I897UCJI6-OCD-REV02-Low-designgears.exe and ODIN, if this has any importance!
It should be posted in the OP or there should be a link to sufficient installation instructions in the OP of whatever Rom you would like to flash.
And no need to start a thread in the General and same exact thread in Q & A.
NO need to double post.
Help will be given even with one thread started.
Ok i won't crosspost, I did it because I really need help. Anyway my question.is: now that i have installed this 2.2froyo rom,as i don't know if phone is rooted or not CAN I install a superoneclick 2.3 gingerbread or should i do something first. Will this also remove sim operator lock? Please someone answer
Thanks everybody for help!
If u have root then u should have the "Superuser app"

or View attachment 854464, but Not this in ur app drawer. Or download a free app that requires root and test and see that way.
To go to a Gingerbread Rom from the Froyo 2.2 that u currently are running, u can use one of the One Clicks GB with Bootloaders in the Stickied One Click Thread in the Development Forum.
You have to have the GB Bootloaders in order to run a Gingerbread Rom, but once u have the Bootloaders there is not any need in flashing any bootloaders in the future, because the GB Bootloaders are backwards compatible.
There is risk in flashing bootloaders, so be sure u have a good micro usb to usb cable connection, preferably use a laptop so u don't loose power mid flash, remove all babies, animals, etc. from the room, so the cable does not get "accidentally" yanked during the flash.
Be sure u know what u r doing and then proceed.
Here is my about info I am trying to relock my bootloader, to make my phone feel completely stock again. But when I relock it using flashtool I end up unable to boot my phone. The weird part is when I try, to turn it on, it vibrates one time (as if it's going to) but then nothing happens. Any ideas how I can fix this?
Thanks,

Having an unlocked bootloader doesn't affect the performance of the Phone in anyway, so if you want to return to stock just flash an ftf and forget about it. Having the ability to relock is great but I really don't see the point unless you need to return it.

Well the thing is, my phone is running a stock rom, rooted, with an unlocked bootloader and cwm installed, and there is a update I want, that my phone keeps bugging me about but it keeps erroring (i'm guessing due to the root, bootloader and cwm).

When you restore the TA while running a custom ROM or kernel (ie. DooMKernel) you will soft-brick the device, which I think you just did .
Connect the device to your PC and use Sony PC Companion to flash the latest firmware. Then everything shall be fine again.

I did the same mistake :silly:
Sony Companion won't recognize the device.
In order to correct that, you have to:
- Download the .ftf file for the current FW version of your device (in my case Xperia SP 12.1.A.0.266);
- enter flashmode
- flash the downloaded .ftf
- power on and enjoy it
Happy Eastern everyone!

Hello everyone,
I need your help because I have a big problem. I have a sony z3 compact model d5833, and I used flashtool to install sony concept (link from this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/list-stock-firmwares-d5803-d5833-t2906706).
They wrote in the tutorial to check SIMLOCK in flashtool in my version of flashtool v0.9.22.2, checking SIMLOCK means flashing simlock.ta when before it meant excluding the file.
Therefore, my phone can't recognize my sim card anymore (it's written invalid sim card, and I have no network).
I tried flashing back the old firmware, doing a factory reset, flashing concept without SIMLOCK but nothing works.
I even tried this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/help/rooting-status-unknown-sim-card-camera-t3279419) but my flashtool didn't write anything in the file registeredDevices. Could you please help me???
Thank you in advance.

Send it to Sony service
Still me.
I've just checked into my Flashtool folders and I have found a lot of backups, but they stopped around April.
I suppose before this damn 0.9.22.x the backups were automatic. I can't understand why they disabled this useful feature if this kind of risks are still possible.
My questions:
1) Do you remeber if you used Flashtool in the past on another PC? Pheraps a laptop? Or something like that... in order to resume an old backup.
2) Have you ever made a backup TA? Most of people make it the first time they root the phone. I mean this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598
I'm still not sure if it can be useful for you, as it was thought to resume DRM keys in TA partition, but if the partition is all backed-up from this tool, we can try to get what we need from that

Yeah I had flashtool on another device but it did exactly the same, no backup. And I don't have a backup no... Do you think there is another way or is it completely bricked?
Thank you.

If you've never rooted with this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/how-to-root-backup-drm-keys-t3013343
which suggests to make a backup TA (but you've already said you didn't), then it's better you go to Sony assistance.
Flash the correct firmware of your device before repairing.
Is your phone still under warranty? If yes, I think they fix for free
PS I wrote into XDA Flastool topic my disappointment about the chance to brick the phone so easily, for what it's worth

Until i looked on here today I wasnt aware there was actually an update for the huawei p9 as i the phones 'Check up update' would always tell me there was no new version. I have the P9 EVA-L09 UK version and am currently on EMUI Ver 4.1.1 and Android version 6.0. What is the latest update i can install on this phone please and will i lose all the data on my phone?
Depends on your build number. If it's C432 you should be able to update to Nougat. If not you will need to follow the debrand guide found on this forum.
My build number is EVA-L09C432B182, which is the correct version right? I just tried updating to B386 from this guide here...
http://www.stechguide.com/download-huawei-p9-b386-nougat-update/
but i get an error message saying that the update.app is the wrong version, do i need an early version of the Nougat FW??
It's a minefield. Some work some don't. I'd try an earlier build b360 or b361 maybe. You could also try using the Huawei updater guides are on here.
hmm tried version B360 and it gets to about 39% installer and then gives me a 'Software Install Failed' message. Do i need an even older version of the Nougat FW?
That's the oldest as far as I know. Did you try with 3 button or hidden update menu method.
nah i used the phone keypad code method. I have just unlocked my bootloader and installed TWRP, can i update it via TWRP safely?
Hmm well ive updated to Nougat but something doesnt seem to be right alot of the programs are missing and now im unable to get TWRP to load and just seems to load Huawei eRecovery when i press the volume up and power button on turn the system on. How do i got about getting the phone back to stock (bootloader relocked, un rooted, twrp uninstalled and back on Android Marshmellow 6.0)?? so i can start again?
Look for the b136 rom. I believe that fixes a lot of issues for people. Most of this is on the debrand guide. Have a good read of that thread.

Ok thanks i just posted a new thread as i now seem to be stuck on a 'this system is rebooting' screen (the warning screen you get that tles you the phone is unlocked) and the phone never actually boots anymore. Will me force flashing (Volume Up+Down+Power button) the b136 rom get me out of this predicament?
I've not had to do it myself but I have read that others have. Good luck. Shouldn't be this hard to update.
Hmm i dont even seem to be able to get the phone into the force update process (Volume UP+DOWN+Power) just hangs on the Huawei logo screen
Hmm i think the phone is bricked, im unable to get into the menu to update the Update.app file from the dload folder on the SD card, i cant even get the phone to switch off it just keeps restarting itself and freezing on the 'your device has been unlocked and cant be trusted' screen....

if i try and turn the phone of it just turns itself back on and freezes on that screen again
Im able to get to the Fastboot & recovery mode screen if i hold volume down button.......
and if i hold down both the volume and power buttons i get this screen....
and not the firmware update screen i should be getting.
It has been suggested that i need to use DC Phoenix program to fix the phone but thats a paid method and dont really want to go that route if there is another way!??
Sorry to hear that mate. Good luck fixing it. It should not be this hard to update. For some it's easy for others it's a right pain. I'm sure there will be a way to sort it the hard bit will be finding it.
Hi,
So I've been putting off this last update for some time and finally decided to update it yesterday. Not sure what happened during the process as I left it unattended, came to find out it's stuck on this downloading screen (attacehd image). tried several restarts with no luck.
At one point, after reading a few threads here, I decided to do a firmware restore using ODIN. But, by the time I got to a point to get things going, the phone just shut off! I had it plugged in on the outlet but I guess it wasn't charging? Phone wouldn't start back up anymore!
I would really appreciate some help and guidance on my options now. I'm guessing the battery drained completely Is there any way to get it recharged and revived? If I have to replace the battery with a new one, I can attempt that as well.
Please advise.
Thank you for your input.

have you tried smartswitch?
Hmm, does it do anything if you hold all 3 buttons down for up to 30 seconds?
Perhaps try leaving it attached to whatever device you were trying to flash from, your connection to the outlet may not be working?
The phone is ALIVE!
Display came on! It's plugged in and back to the same screen. What do I try in smartswitch?
What's the best way to recover from that screen that I posted in my first post? Please advise.
Smartswitch fails to connect to the device. What else can I try?
You can try the emergency firmware recovery feature of Smart Switch. Let us know if that does anything.
EDIT: Oops, I didnt read your comment on how Smart Switch doesnt connect to your phone... Try a different PC or USB cable maybe?
The phone gets detected in ODIN but smartswitch says failed to connect to the device. please remove cable and try again.
I would like to see if I can recover without losing my data. Do you think that's possible at this point?
I'm downloading the firmware using Frija at this point and thinking of flushing using ODIN. but would like to avoid resetting if at all possible.

Try using HOME CSC when flashing, if provided. From what I know, it retains user data if flashed with HOME CSC (please look this up yourself however as I havent done much research on this).
Can someone please advise the proper firmware and filesets to flush using the home csc and not lose the data?
I have downloaded a firmware using Frija by providing my phone details and using USC as the CSC. I purchased this phone unlocked.
Below are the files in the archive:

HOME_CSC_OYM_G991U1OYM5DWA4_MQB61413430_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
Just use HOME_CSC file and the rest of AP, BL and CP to flush?
Thanks so much.
Phone is back up and running with all data restored after firmware flush was done with ODIN.
Thank you for all your help.
