No it isn't. It is the Open/European version.

I used both 1.7 and 1.9.5 and both failed.

Yesterday i tried to update my phone with official lg updater to v10e ( im from hungary) but bricked my phone.. ive tried several methods to get it work but with no succes. i returned it to service but someone got some idea how to get the update procedure to work if im gonna do agian the update? cuz soon we get 2.3 for this device and i dont wanna go to service again.

Im on 10a from VDF and i dont want to go flashing phone all the time, last time i did that it was the X8 .. not a good thing.

before i had v10a and for me it's becoming much faster

SOC1.9.5. Like Noejn said I also didn't noticed any difference. The only thing I see since v10b is LG making new versions just to make most people happy with new releases nothing more.

First and most important thing is to do Factory Reset via Hidden Menu 3845#*970#. This will un-root your phone and clear all data. Then do a firmware upgrade and after that again Factory Reset. This is the safest method.

The factory reset doesn't un-root the phone. The "called" root moves both superuser.apk and su binary to the respective folders so if you do a factory reset they will not be deleted.. To un-root you need to do it with the application you used to root the phone or flash firmware.

I havent got it yet. Im on sprint. Just got it today. Anyone get it? Anyone try clearing google frameworks?

Is it worth rooting yet or should I wait til something stable arrives? You know, where we can unroot, flash roms/recoveries. I dont wanna funk up my brand new s4. Which way did u guys root?

Haven't tried Kies but I'll check that out after the gym tonight.

I've got it charging in my computer currently so if anything comes up ill let everyone know.
Edit: Nevermind... I am now getting this in Kies "Your devices firmware version is not supported to update firmware via kies"

According to the article the update is 30 megs. I've yet to see it myself however so no idea.

Got the device yesterday afternoon and it has been bugging me about the firmware update all morning.

Weird. I keep checking for the update off and on this morning and I still don't have it.

Believe so. Should have some time here in a few and I can work on that.
**Great...I kept ignoring it and rebooted my phone and now can't get it to pop back up. Keep checking but nothing yet. Maybe someone else will have some luck however I don't think this OTA is anything special. Maybe even just some PRL updates or something.**

Im in SC, and have tried clearing google services and multiple restarts and no sign of an OTA

Im up in ny, and I still have no update. I hope it's not an update to patch the root exploit.

Not OTA, but there is this page with the Sprint PH-720 about halfway down.

I've spoken to Samsung and Sprint about this today and something tells me this update was pulled.

Official 4.3 VS Unofficial 4.4?

Allright, I've been using Kitkat 4.4.2 for a while now, and it seems like 4.4.2 is slower in applications than 4.3? And also, 4.3 gives me better stats in quadrant than 4.4.2, Why is that? And finally, could someone link me the thread which had everything to get my warranty back. Thanks for help in advance!

update for ek gc-110?

I just checked for an update on my gc-110 and finally one pops up. I didnt install it yet because I didnt know what it entailed and I didn't want to be stuck not being able to root. Any ideas? I cant find any info. Btw im in the US, if it matters.

No update yet in the UK, so can not help you as yet. Normally USA are the testing people for these updates before Europe gets it.

Thanks for the reply. I'm on what should be the latest 4.1.2 so not sure what's going on but I am getting an update notification....h,mmmm. No one?

Got the update is US. Camera seems a bit more responsive than before.

Unfortunately yes...I just did the install. cam as stated earlier is a bit snappier.

I also got the update, it is still 4.1.2 and yes I just rooted it using this method

Probably. I'm using US 4.3 firmware and it does have both arabic and persian.

Heres a snapshot
Ive just done a factory install to take me right back as im not that keen on the KitKat update it took away all my apps that needed root and loads of stuff that was on the phone as there's little or no chance of now rooting the phone at this moment in time its up for sale hence the cleansweep

What? There's a few ways of rooting. It just requires downgrading to an earlier firmware version if you don't want to unlock your bootloader.
Or did you mean there's no easy "one-click" solution? That's a completely different thing to there being "no chance".
