UK release of Jelly Bean for the 8000 XXBLK2
working on 8013
This is an offshoot of the thread I started to get the jelly bean updates working on the 8013, here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982821
Pretty much just fixes the null icon for the signal, tweaks to the build.prop, ad some other stuff to make it a little better for the8013
This is mostly stock, aside from:
Root
de-odexed
Busybox
zipaligned
init.d support
4 way reboot
removed the null signal icons for 8013
Instructions:
Use CWM
Make a backup first
Wipe your stuff
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
mounts and storage/ format /data
mounts and storage/ format /system
mounts and storage/ format /cache
advanced/ wipe dalvik cache
Repeat a couple times for good measure
In order to prevent random reboots, the 8013 rom has the default governor set to ondemand

Smaw! First off, thanks! But I flashed your rom and I can't obtain root access. Checked SuperSU and it says that the binaries aren't installed. Could you possibly upload a flashable zip patch to get root back? Thanks!
EDIT: Actually, it says the SU binaries are installed but SuperSU cannot install it.

Thanks for bringing that up, I thought I fixed it. If you have tried rebooting and that didn't fix it then use this method

Thanks for the fix, but I went ahead and fixed it myself by using Chainfires Odin Autoroot method and that fixed it too!

Yep, found the issue, I think I fixed it on the modded 8013 and thought I fixed it in the stock 8013, turns out I didn't, I will be uploading the fixed stock as soon as I am done testing it.

What is this? I am not able to use any 30pin usb connectors for flash drives or keyboard/mouse, etc. Is that what you are talking about?

Smaw, for some reason S Note force closes. I DL'd your rom 3 times and clean flashed them 3 times and get a same result. Could you look into it please? I need S Note for my lecture classes lol Thanks!

i think it means that you still get cwm and it doesn't get replaced with google's stock recovery when flashing the rom

It means that although the Rom is "stock", it will keep your CWMrecovery and not revert to stock recovery upon reboot. (Although CMW 6.sth gives you an option to make it sticky anyways.)

Haha. I just did the same thing, did you do a full wipe?
This is not visual mod or theming and so posted in Android Development section.
As we all are aware there is memory leak issue with JB Roms (may not be experienced in some case), so I decided to play with framework jars and mod them to optimize RAM management.
I had used Advanced Task Killer on JB Rom and problems became grave, I needed to restart device after every hour.
So freeing the RAM in that way didn't work at all.
So, I decided to try reverse and let maximum multitasking take place (ofcourse, with optimal RAM free for launching new activities)
This can be done customizing ADJ parameters.
ICS or JB doesn't read ADJ values from build.prop or local.prop - so they are hardcoded into services.jar!
Moreover, after patching the services.jar for OOM priority... kernel overrides few needed parameters and even init.d wont help in such case.
So, I have created APK file which will do all the dirty work for you

Ninja Mode features:
Maximum Overdrive:
As mentioned earlier, it's optimal usage of RAM for maximum multitasking intended to control memory leak.
The ROM experience will get much snappier than before even with too many apps!!
Optimized Framework:
The framework of the ROM is now PNG optimized. This will increase performance as load time should decline.
Fastest ZipAlign:
The normal zipalign option in ROM is slow as it zipaligns all apps everytime.
The method used here is different and it checks new apps if available and zipaligns!
Database Optimization:
The database files are reindexed and vaccumed. This may fasten your overall app experience.
3G Booster:
Lot's of tweak for data connection!
SdCard Read Ahead value boost
Dalvik Heap Size limit increased
Least of ads in any app (latest 'hosts')
... and many other minor tweaks...
Caution:
This mod is only for BlackCNA and is under testing.
First flash the CWM and then install the app manually.
First reboot will take little longer time as it will zipalign all apks and fix permissions.
Using this app on other ROM is not recommended as framework needed to be patched.
To uninstall this mod, uninstall the app and you will need to flash the ROM again (without wipe will do.)
Installation:
Make sure you are on BlackCNA v1.2 ROM
Flash the base via CWM and reboot.
Install the "Ninja Mode" apk manually and activate it!
Reboot one time...

After installing the apk, and clicking on the "Activate Ninjutsu" button, I'm getting the following error - " Ninja mode not correctly installed. Press back to exit". Running Black CNA v1.2.

How to install:
Fresh Install
Please make full wipe.
That is wipe data factory reset,
Wipe cache and Wipe dalvik cache.
After that simply install and have fun.
No wipe.
Simply download the rom.
Install it over your current
rom without any wipe.
You should be good to go.
I would recommend that you all install it fresh with full wipes for best experience.

If it has either supersu or superuser app..open it and update the binary..it should work then..

It looks like the Note to camera but it is missing slow motion video capture. And it is a new base i mean you can try to flash it without wipe and tell us if it works. But i would recommend a full wipe.

You need 7zip to extract the four parts then you get the flashable zip mate.

Once you installed 7zip right click on the first file and then a whole 7zip menu should appear then you are able to click extract here.

Hmm... funny maybe Samsung decide it would be better for this tablet to have phablet ui. Other stock acutally has tablet ui. Anyway I've got one more problem. It seems phone mic isn't working for me, person on the other line can't here my voice. My tab 2 is 3100. Great to see chef who has close to stock philosophy,

I think it has something to do with my device.I always factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache. Other stock rom I've tried so far also has this problem. Moving back to aokp rom, which works fine. Will come try your rom again next time.

Flash this to get Deodexed/Odexed stock MDC with latest root (SuperSU), su binary and Busybox 1.20.2. These Do Not include a kernel or any other firmware.
All of the zips wipe cache and dalvik for you so no need to do that separately.
I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. You do this at your own risk.
As with everything I release, you are welcome to use this any way you need. Just remember where it came from:good:
There is a version for no data wipe and data wipe. Make sure you don't get them mixed up. The data wipe versions do not delete the /data/media folder.

It doesn't contain any kernels....when you flash it will keep the same kernel/recovery you use to flash it with
