$100 credit for the lack of support - LG Optimus 2x

Last month Motorola promised to give a $100 credit to anyone who bought a 2011 device that would not be upgraded to the latest version of Android. The program will start in the United States "this fall," the company said, and expand to the rest of the world later.
$100 credit for the lack of support! that's the minimum!

They didn't offer 100$ just like that. There was a catch, a big one.
For a mere 100$ you had to surrender your old expensive Motorola phone, and buy one of their new expensive ones like the razr hd or razr maxx hd. The funny thing is that the customer will again suffer a double blow due to this: having to let go of a phone like photon 4G for just 100$, plus having to buy a new moto phone, which again won't get any update

Yes, that's correct. The "$100 for the lack of support" statement is actually taken out of context, because in reality the offer is to trade in your current phone for a fixed price of $100, when you buy a new one. Those phones are worth way more any day if sold on Craigslist, so what's the point? Double fail...

How much did you pay for your G2X?

Release date coming tomorrow! Let's figure out the cheapest way to purchase one. Please post the following:
1. How much you paid
2. Where you ordered or purchased
3. If you used full or partial upgrade or no contract extension.
4. Any discounts applied and how you acquired said discounts.
I think the cheapest I've seen is wirefly, they have it for $150 on a 2yr contract, but it won't ship until the 20th.

Personally, I'm looking to use a partial upgrade as I am 13 months into a 2 year contract. I have seen people get amazing deals using various methods. I'm hoping to get it for around $250.
I'm looking to possibly purchase for full price and use on AT&T, so please include any deals on full retail prices.
3700 danish kr... about 500 dollars. Without contract.
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
900kr + 450kr x 6 months (3600 kr = 699USD). This includes 5gb data, 2 hours of talk, free sms and mms. I think it was a rather good deal, in Danish context.
@Thomasmj86
500USD ~2500kr
Does this phone have an easily unlocked bootloader? My friend asked if I would recommend this, and I was unsure how to respond. He is a T-mobile USA user.

I read somewhere that LG has no plans to lockdown bootloaders unlike HTC with the Sensation and other new phones.
FYI, this thread is for t-mobile g2x prices, not lg optimus 2x...
thanks, where did you buy yours??
I have a partial upgrade (13 months in a 2 year contract) and it is showing $349 for me. A little more than I wanted to pay but I think I'll go for it.
I paid £379.99 cos my contract isn't up for another 1yr 3 mth and couldn't wait that long for this phone, gave my desire to the girlfriend

Got an amazing deal at my local AT&T corporate store

Went in yesterday to purchase my new Vivid (at the full price of $550, as I don't prefer contracts) and the sales guy walked me over to the accessories rack and asked me to pick out something. I thought to myself, "Well he's just trying to make a sale," so I said, "No, thanks."
He then said, "No, go ahead and pick out whatever you like and I'll take it off the price of the phone." I grabbed an external battery pack which can recharge the phone over micro USB, which was $40. He then asked if there was anything else and I thought to myself, "Really? How far do I want to press my luck?"
I had earlier noticed they sold Jawbone Jamboxes at this store. I really like them, think they're fine products. My boss has one and he's spoken well of it. So I said, "Well my boss has a Jambox and loves it, and I'd love to have one!", fully expecting him to say no but he just walked over and grabbed it!
I got $240 worth of free stuff with my purchase
good deal, they make a ton of money off phones and people being on contracts that they can always work with you on accessories. I worked at BBY mobile and we would throw around cases and screen protectors since they were peanuts vs. selling phones.
Haha, I still work for Best Buy Mobile. Good times here.
Good for you for getting a badass deal on the phone though, I wish we could do something like that here, since we make virtually nothing on selling a phone without a contract.

At the AT&T store by Flamingo and West Sunrise, they were less than enthusiastic to even talk to me. Once I mentioned that I was interested in buying the phone, without a contract extention.

Just ordered a Galaxy Nexus

G2x was a great phone, and despite LG's various fails it was corrected by our devs. But, as a fandroid, you have that little voice in the back of your head making your life miserable when there is a nexus annouced, or even better hardware for that matter.
I just bit the bullet and ordered an unlocked GN. $696 and some change, including shipping and bank fees. God help me, this android addiction is getting out of hand
It's the GSM flavor, imported of course. Who want's to deal with Verizon and the mockery they have made of the Nexus brand? F*ck you Verizon, Google - I am disappointed in you for being Verizon's B*tch The European GN is the true Nexus.
Any other fandroids out there want to join me?
MOD EDIT: REMOVED LINK
It is just a pre-order for now, but stock is expected in 2 days. And if your cautious, handtec is a reputable vendor, pay with Google Checkout and your butt should be covered

I paid around $600 (after tax and all that) for my Vibrant off contract. The fact that this is penta-band and allows you to use it with any carrier is definitely a plus and if you pick good no-contract plans, you can easily come out way ahead of getting a subsidized phone on contract.

I wont make the same mistake again, i will wait a couple of months after it comes out, see development, then maybe buy one. Got g2x on 4/20 early in the morning and even tho i got a good phone, NVIDIA (dumb asses) really are holding devs down.

Can I have your old G2X? Mine got scratches on the screen on day 2
The way it works is you sell the G2x for $200. Use the money and pick a contract phone with high resell value. Sell it for the price of the Nexus. Live happily.
The G2x is still sweet. But I'll probably pick a Nexus up on Verizon through work to save from paying a personal cell. Depends on development and issues. I'm still torn.

Best Buy trade-in still offering $250 and up for good condition N4!

The SKU corresponds to this device: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/LG---Go...ile)/7408045.p?id=1218844837055&skuId=7408045 which is the 16GB model.

Perhaps he made this thread for those who were skeptical about selling (before N5 launches) or keeping the device and if Google's decision of slashing the price made such people a little upset, they can use OP's link and take full benefit from it.

After being blessed by the HOLO when I get a new HOLO device I actually give my old ones away, and spread the word of Matias Duarte
My friend was all like you know they sell this galaxy nexus for 500 on ebay. I told him "My lamb that is not a HOLO device that is a verizon one and is not recommended, take this and give me that HTC desire." I then I plus'ed Matias Duarte and we chanted HOLOYOLO together and burned that device to a cinder

The best thing you can do is you can purchase two visa gift cards for 5.95 for each because the max limit on visa card is $200
so what you can get $250 cash at the end
262 -6 -6 = $ 250

BillMeLater turned into PayPal Credit. They still offer no interest for 6 month deals, but its not a blanket offer like BillMeLater was. There are inclusions, exclusions, and tons of fine print.
BTW, I overstated. The fine print for the APR reads:
"The Annual Percentage Rate is 19.99%"
(which is still outrageously high)

My last two phones I brought full price from T-Mobile. I brought a Samsung Note 3 and The phone I have now LG G3. I just didnt want to pay full price this time around.
I've ordered stuff on PayPal credit and I always get 6 months no interest no matter what. I pay it off way before that anyway so it's not a big deal.
So what if you finance it through Motorola if you are good with money you pay it off.

Just use T-Mobile and finance.
G3
You can't finance through PayPal unless the seller accepts PayPal. I could be wrong but I don't think the Play Store does. Verizon doesn't or any of the other carriers. Your only shot is Motorola if and when they decide to. Unless you can pick up a new one on EBay or Swappa for a reasonable price. You know how that goes guys say they are new but there not + no warranty unless you get a carrier to honor it.
I didn't mean to sound like a jerk when I posted that response last night. If you have 0% interest for 12 or 18 months and you pay it off without getting penalized for late payments or whatever, it's a good deal. On the other hand, if you are planning to pay off the phone with a credit card that charges a ridiculous interest like 10 - 30%, I would agree that it's not a wise choice. In the end, it's really none of my business to tell anyone how to purchase a phone. Sometimes, if you want the latest and greatest phone, you'll do just about anything to get it.
