can any one help me to unlock my W8 E16i bootloader.
On battery, it has 11w44.
In many i found that it is 50-50 % chances.
Help me for Safe unlocking.....

If you wanna unlock it real bad, go for the paid method. I dunno how it goes actually. But you can ask some members who have used it and have had success.
But if you're going for the free route, don't even risk it. If you fail, it's a hard brick.
Summary-
Safest for you is paid method. But I'd suggest not to unlock it at all. There are tons of good stock kernel GB ROMs out here.

don't unlock. the date you're looking for is on the phone, NOT on the battery.

It means...check first ur phone date of manufacturing. If its in the safe range,u have 90% chance of the unlock a success(9% depends on ur PC,1% luck). If ur phone is not in the safe range, well u just need to think very hard if u really want to unlock th bootloader...its up to u,but not recommended although there are people that succesfully unlock their bootloader when their phone is in the risk zone. Its all up to u
Check first does ur PC have any problem detecting ur phone in flashmode or not. This can be done by flashing ur phone back to stock 2.1 rom using flashtool. If there is no problem, ur good to go. If there is,just find the solutions to it

if ur week of production is high eg.34, thats mean ur phone is new
if its low eg.09, then its old

Mate, Its to dengerous to Unlocking the bootloader on outdate 11W29+,
Once Hardbrick, you cannot revive ur phone by ur Self, u need to send it in for Repair, and most likely they will change ur motherboard.
But, Maybe Have Someone succesed unlock bootloader on outdate X8?
If yes, yeah ! I want it to, for my 2nd X8

hey dude, well my w8 was on W1129+ but i took the risk and ended up hard-bricking my phone ands as a result had to take it back for repairs... they changed the motherboard (as you said) but didnt change the stickers...
is there anyway i can identify the "week" of my current motherboard?
But with the w8 its waaaay much more risk for a hard brick But the x8 is a little bit more safe ..

Hey Dude,
I think service center replaced the mobo with a pre 11W29 one,
Most likely that the replacement is even newer [11W5x -> 12W0x] than your original motherboard was. There is no way to find out "week" of you mobo except
of the sticker, or maybe you can ask them what the "week" mobo they replaced for you,

Afaik there will always be even a small chance of something going wrong. But then
It's the 11w29+ phones that are really at risk.

As everyone said before, it's safe as long as the phone isn't sim-locked.
However, regarding Jelly Bean -- as nobodyAtall said on his CM10 development thread, it's "a best effort to support the unsupportable" or something like that; our X8 really, really shouldn't go any further than 2.3. I'm currently on 4.0 and it leaves a lot to be desired -- 2.3 roms are *much* snappier, but for some reason I get terrible battery life on those (that's why I'm on 4.0)

Read Bootloader unlock threads for thatv sim certificate. Everything is explained there.
Mine X8 is 11W19 and i had no problems with unlocking bootloader.
Are u seriously asking these or u are testing us.. u have been here since quite a long time and know a lot more than many of us around..
Any way you can check out the thread by spyderx on unlocking with all the methods and details or mine below for a simple one with some usefull links..
And yes i haven't heard anyone complaining about brick for the one's below 11W29, still no one can assure u on that, there are always a few chances if something goes wrong(very small chance )..

I have an Xperia W8 (X8) which has a manufacture date of 11W44. All I wanted that I wanted to unlock bootloader so that I could install the nAa kernel and then install the ICS rom.
But the guides say that my mfd. date should be before 11W29 :crying:
What should I do? I checked many forums and threads but nothing is matching my problem.

No ics for stock kernel. The only way is to pay for it. Or, risk it. I guess it's safe to say you have 90+% chance of hard brick if you try. Not worth it

You can try it, but the risk of having a hardbrick is big because you have a phone that is w29+ and w29+ phones have patched the bootloader exploit.

2. fail - no phone

If u are going to do it, find a guy who own jtag box. It would be better if he will be a friend of ur. Cause then u can unbrick it for free if it hardbricked.

a friend gave me his x8 to do the work with bootloader and kernel...his was a 11w35 too...he has an unlocked bootloader and alfs v9 now
