Hello.
I need help.
I am running Cyanogenmod 10, the August 4 build on my GT-P7310. I want to return to the stock 3.2 to get the official 4.0 update from Samsung and to get rid of the bugs that is being caused by the ROM. What should I do?
EDIT:
Please add a download link or any direct download link please.
use odin and download the officcial 4.0.4 file, and flash with odin ( WARNING: will delete EVERYTHING ON THE TABLET!!)
but it'd work...
Or you can down load the stock hc Rom. You can get either at sammobile.com. if you use Odin you'll have to extract the .tar.md5 from the zip file. Use 7-zip to extract it.

Can I use the recovery instead of ODIN?
I've never done it that way but it should work. Then you can use the zip.

I'm still running on HC3.2. What would be the easiest way to do a backup, that can be flashed with Odin again.
I would like to try ICS.
The easiest is to have a recovery installed, cwm or twrp. Then do the backup with it. Someone else may know how to do a backup you could flash with Odin.

Do a backup on a custom recovery (CWM is good). You could flash it through recovery. I'm not sure with ODIN.
Can someone link a 3.2 honeycomb firmware download? Can not find anywhere, need to flash back from ICS to root.
Never mind sammobile.com is awesome. Not sure why that site never came up in any Google searches over the last few days looking for i957 firmware...

After flashing ad Abyss Kernel 4.2 from my sd Card, then I reboot the phone, after that it stocks in samsung logo.
I'm not sure if my steps were correct 100%. And I did not backup also.
What to do?
Try to reboot to recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache
Here what I did:
1- Entered root mode
2- install zip from sd card
3- apply/sdcad/update.zip
then the problem began

What firmware were you running? Take into consideration that abyss kernel is gingerbread. If you were running an ICS ROM then that is why is not booting. If that is your case, find hydracore kernel (flashable zip version) and flash it in CWM.

Like above poster said, unless your on GB it won't boot with abyss. Flash HC or speed mod if your on 4.0.x

looking at your posts I suggest you simply have a Skype Chat with a noble soul, who might help you go back to stock rom.
Once you have that, stick with it. Simple.

Took me almost two days to figure this out, cannot post in development forum, so here it is:
Problem:
"old rooting files" are not working with newer ICS stock rom, tried with all the here for Tab 8.9 existing guides.
Solution:
Took the root file from the (almost similar) Tab 10.1 for ICS from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1807219 which has a link to this file:
http://www.shabbypenguin.com/users/...alaxytab10.1/Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip
Installed it with cwm recovery 5.5.0.8 (install zip file from sdcard)
and it finally worked on the 8.9 running 4.0.4 ics stock (UK/European Version)!
Combined with the a1 1.7.3 overclocking kernel, the tab now works like a charm
overclocked with app "voltage control" to 1400 Mhz.
edit: this is for model p7300/p7310 (tegra 2 versions) only
Thanks for your efforts.

Perhaps you should use another root tool. I used a busybox.zip-file.. Just flash it the same way; via CWM (install zip from sd-card)
The file is in the attachments
And if this doesn't work either, you might wanna update your CWM version first, before you flash the root tool. I have it attached as well. Updating CMW is done the same way as flashing a root tool, so: launch CMW 5 and install the CMW6.0.0.8.zip from sd-card.
Here you go!

No. Just the Samsung drivers which kies will install. Then forget about kies. It's a pos. And you don't flash odin. It resides on your PC. You flash with odin.

Are these for P7300 with 4.0.4?
is there anyone with p7310 tegra 2 successly rooted with method above? Please share information and step thx
You can try with Superoneclick2.3.3 - should work fine.
Or you can install CWM first with Odin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312218
And then copy root.original.zip over to
SD-card. Turn off device. Go into recovery mode with power on+volume down (don't choose download mode)
and flash root.original there.
are you sure superoneclick are proven to work? Because a failed root attempt using superoneclick usually make tablet slow and need to hard reset
Have no idea. If in doubt flash cwm with odin and then root.

Is this working ? Is there another way to root SGH i957 running ICS ?
Thank you
Hi guys, I am looking for some help with this. I have tried the superoneclick way and the program hangs and does not complete. I have also tried the other way, using the odin flashable CWM 5.5.0.4, but when I install it and boot into recovery, the option screen scrools so fast that I cannot see what I am selecting in order to load the root file.
Can anyone tell me if this is a known issue with this version of CWM? Does anyone know of another odin flashable version of CWM that I could try?
Thanks in advance!

Hey, its a P7310 running stock UK ICS firmware. I double checked the setup and it turns out I was using a different version of ODIN (3.07), so maybe that is the reason?

Maybe it's odin. I've always used 1.85 but others have had luck with ver 3. Try to reflash cwm with 1.85. And make sure cwm is for the p7310. To root I've always flashed super su-busy box thru recovery.

I have the Tmobile Galaxy tab, I did the update from Froyo to Overcome 2.3.3 to CM10 4.1.2. I would like to know how to downgrade back to Gingerbread in case I should change my mind??? Any help would be appreciated.
you use overcome method to restock (Odin with pit file and repartition)
Use the latest overcome, the link is in my signature.
Download the GB-stock-safe-v5 and the pdf guide, jump to page 7, flash as per picture, and you get GB stock.
Flash using Odin the overcome kernel 4.0 tar, and you will have CWM and ready to go again.

Hi "priyana", when changing modem on CM10 I can still use Odin correct?
No, unzip the rom, paste the desired modem.bin in the right place in the rom, and zip it annd sign it...or place it in the right place in the system folder after flashing the rom using something like root explorer

You can download the official Sprint Galaxy S4 MF9 update tar files here~!! :good::laugh:
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SPH-L720
Here as well.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SPH-L720&pcode=0#firmware
I haven't finished downloading yet or unzipping to see if the file is correct but the zipped file size sends a bit small for an official ROM. Also, they package the kernel separately? That's weird.
Has anyone used these?
Flash the SPR-L720VPUAMF9-20130626162512.zip via TWRP ?

I used it myself and it worked very well. For me, a fresh MF9 flash via PC Odin was more stable and smoother than doing the MDL to MF9 update.
If you flash the full MF9 tar, you don't need to go back and flash the kernel tar.
Thank you!
I am on MDL w/ many mods.
I guess I am gonna have to go this route, although, phone is working as I like.
But, I guess I have to continue to move forward?
Sigh, I also will guess after doing this will wipe out everything, and I have to start all over.
Definitely gonna perform a fullbackup first, and then remove my ext. sdram.

Yes, you'll lose root and custom recovery. After flashing this, use Odin again to flash a custom recovery then flash SuperSU within custom recovery to gain back root.
Is it possible for someone to make a NOData version. (Got kind of spoiled from the E4GT)

It's pretty simple. First, backup all your data and media then perform a factory reset from the phone's Setting menu.
Shut the phone down and enter the stock recovery mode. Open Odin on your laptop or desktop, connect your phone, select the tar file, and flash your phone. You'll be back to 100% stock.

Yes! Use CF-Autoroot to root and be careful NOT to check anything like repartition etc. or you'll kill your phone.
