Hello
I have a golden replacement battery that all ways worked just fine with ICS and GB. But when I installed JB - jellybam ROM it won't charge. The battery is drained to 0% , when I put the phone to charge you see the battery recharge icon light up and keeps stuck with the small circle in the middle. After couple seconds the screen goes black and the process keeps repeating it self. After couple minutes the phone warms up. So I pulled out the battery to prevent any damage. With stock battery no problems at all..
Does anybody have any clue about this?
Thanks in advance..

It's never a good idea to drain the battery till 0%. Keep holding onto the power button while charging until it boots up to the Samsung logo.

Does not work.. Phone does not boot because the battery is drained and won't recharge..

Just to share with you, I had one of these gold batts which refused to charge as well. I got an anker wall charger and used that to charge after which. The battery is revived and seems to be usable again although it does flicker at some point.

Hi guys
I have an Optimus 2X which get really hot when charging.
After a little while it gets so hot that the phone turns itself off and wont boot until cooled down. Overheating protection i guess?
The battery cant hold power and drains in minutes.
So the battery is dead yes? Or could it be the phone?
Did you use the original usb cable with the original battery and the original charger (if you don't use a computer) ?
Moreover, you can install battery life. It indicates the temperature. Tell me what temperature it gives you in cold and hot mode.

Well if the battery is getting very hot then its most likely the battery, stop using it while its charging for starters heavy use with high cpu load combined with the heat of charging can produce alot of unwanted heat, but yeah if the battry isnt holding charge then its the battery so change it and see what happens.
try the blackbery charger first, if it's still too hot i think you should buy replacement battery
I had the same issue with mine Lg 2x with lg stock rom and froyo it was hot like hell!!! Than I switched to another ROM and the phone was OK !
Ergosum
I used the original charger and cable.
Now it won't charge at all with the original, but my HTC charger works. Still gets hot though.
Battery Life shows a temperature at 42-45' C when charging and 35-37 at standby.
But I've looked a little closer and actually where the phone gets hot the most is on the phone itself right above where the battery connects to the phone?
Eraldo
I don't use the phone at all when charging.

As said above I've tried using another charger. Same result.

Which ROM did you have and which one did you switch to?

It has gone from fully charged to 30% in 3 hours. In standby. Haven't used it at all

Try a different ROM or kill the battery-stats with "Battery Calibrator" from the market.
I recommend you the [ROM] 20110921- lg o2x gb stock mod by topogigi v1.6 - Bug defeated!
In v1.7 will be added a new cpu power management to improve battery life. May give it a try...
So, a couple of weeks ago I went to bed with the Note connected to the AC charger while listening to music when sleeping. I woke up the next morning, only to find an EXTREMELY overheated phone that wouldnt boot or charge. Went to a local electronincs store and it turned out that the battery was dead so I ordered a new one. (Original battery, identical to the previous)
The first day of using the new battery I ran in to some strange behavior, the screen started to flicker as if the phone was running out of battery, the only problem was that there was atleast 30% of battery left. I have been experiencing the same kind of behavior ever since. The phone suddenly drains the battery, precentages increases or decreases when not charging, or the battery is suddenly empty at 15-40%. When I left for school today my phone was 100% charged, when I came home it was probably 50%, I listened to some music, after a while it read 15%, and before the song I was listening was done the phone started to flicker (as usual) and then turned off. I connected it to my PC and charged it for about 30 minutes, and when I turned the phone on the battery read 50%?? So basically I've experienced pretty wierd battery behavior all over.
The screen flickering has occured before when using low quality charger with battery stats at ca 1%, thats quite normal i guess?
I haven't been using low quality chargers on the new battery, nor did I under the incident that killed the previous battery, however, I've been using an original Galaxy SII charger with a 0,7A output, should be totally fine right?
I'm out of ideas what to try, I've tried to delete battery stats after a 100% charge numerous times, no change. Havent seen any battery drains from the battery monitorer. Currently using MIUI Vengeance CM9, havent experience battery drain earlier with this rom.
So what do you think? Battery, phone hardware or software?
try to clean the battery contacts at the back of your phone also clean out some dusts or lints on your usb charging port. Charge it back after to 100% and see if your still getting the same problem.
The same problem still occurs, thanks tip though.

It's unlikely its hardware related, but get a replacement battery from somewhere preferably stock, they're not expensive. It's not hardware, most likely duff battery.

Finally bothered to buy a new battery (again), and so far the battery life seems to be all good!
I guess I was just a bit unlucky by having the orginal battery break, and then receiving a faulty battery after ordering a replacement A series of unfortunate and confusing coincidents
Hi,
Hey i am using my note for a year now, and my phones battery got swelled, with some discussion on xda i was adviced to replace my battery which i did with another original samsungs battery. Now this new battery is charging and discharging fine, and is giving me an on screen time of 5 hours with constant messaging and music and some browsing, the issue that i am having is of battery indication and screen flickering.
First the screen flickering issue, whenever i am below 20 % my screen starts to flicker and it keeps on flickering till the phone dies, sometimes even at 15%. Then when i tried to charge it, it charges from 0.
At times when i partially charge my phone, say i am on 50% and then when i unplug my phone at 60%, it then shows 75% indication but then the flickering starts at 30% and phone dies at 26%.
The battery is giving average time so i think its not a battery issue or maybe it is.
But then i mostly found it a battery indication issue, i read multiple threads and even wiped my battery status. but the issue is the same.
may be give it a few charging cycles.. charge it from 0 to 100 with phone off.. till it says completely charged.. then check the performance..
Maybe you bought a faulty battery!?! did you bought the orignal samsung battery?

Your phone is just a mirage as are all of your flaming posts.
you sure its original, some fake ones out there, Id still bring it back If I were you
Well yes its from samsungs outlet, dated and stamped.. otherwise the battery indicators and every other stat is good. On full charge it has 4.320 V. Discharging equally to 2.8 V. But indications is not going according to the drain and flickering at low %.

I am having a similar issue where my screen will flicker for a minute and then immediately turn off and charge from 0%. I was wondering if it could be a kernel issue as my battery is the stock battery and has never had problems before (I am on XXLSC). To me it looks like the battery is not getting enough power (hence the flickering) and then turns off. Sometimes if I turn off my phone as soon as it starts to flicker and I wait 10-15 minutes I can turn it back on no problem, other times it will just die. I have tried clearing battery stats, and was going to try my spare battery but apparently that swelled in storage.
Good luck in figuring it out! I will report back if I find anything new.

4320volt, interesting, I think its faulty, its off about 120 volts. If it depletes at a higher voltage, it looks like something is astray with the meter/level indication or battery

Sorry for the confusion it actually was 4320 mV or 4.320 v when full charged.
Let me post some screen shots. The overall on screen time is around 5 hours. So the battery is giving a good timming.

My battery got drained to about 4% this afternoon and when I got home I started charging my phone but now it doesn't boot anymore, connected to AC or no. It doesn't even show it's charging.
This is a new battery, not even 6 mo old. Anything I can do?
keep it connected to the charger in off condition for a couple of hours and try again... if still no go then try a working battery from another note
It's been connected to the charger for at least 8 hours now... Still it doesn't charge and it doesn't boot.
Is it a stock battery or a cheapo one?

It wasn't cheap and by the looks of it it's an original one, not the one that came with the phone, but identical in all respects.
This helped, now the phone is charging.
Is any1 havng the problem of the phone nt chargng aftr 66%. Battery life is average but wnt charge aftr 66%. Stock jb rom.just got the phone ystrday in exchange for my amaze. Will this keep gettng worse?should i get my amaze back?is it a battery problem or phone problem lyk board being short?im scared sum advice wld be helpful
I have the same problem with 93% battery. Try to plug off than on the charger it usually solves the problem (only for that charge).

@sarnz
It's usually the charger causing this kind of problems. My brother's HTC could never charge above 50% cause his charger was somehow broken.
I'd try another charger and if the problem persists I'd get my phone back.
If not charger problem, there might be some dust in the charger plug. Use small pin to clean it up, you could be surprised
