Just wondering if I'm the only one having these issues. I flashed the multi window hack to make it the Samsung mobile themed tab and in doing so got my phone stuck at boot. Tried re flashes of both ROM and mod but basically had to use Philz clean wipe or whatever it's called? The one where you do it for flashing a new ROM then i re flashed v5.1. Then last night I wanted to try the blue circle battery mod but again boot screen :/
Re flash of ROM sorted this one out, but I'm just curio is if this just me? I also had to re flash again this morning when I noticed the re flash had wiped s-note.
While I'm though I'd mention that I flashed my phone with odin back to stock a while back and then was showing a mate how to flash, accidently clicked cm9 ROM and without confirmation it flashed and worked? I lost root and it really confused me but is that possible? Seems like I should have been told no or have a bricked phone now.
Thanks all

Don't know why, but getting stuck at boot is a common issue in xxlsc/xxlsa..I too had to go through this 3 times atleast.. first 2 times I tried this way: taking a nandroid backup after getting stuck at boot & restore the same backup..today, i just wiped cache & dalvik it worked..not sure if it works with everyone & everytime..just thought of sharing my experience of getting stuck at boot logo..

Hey guys! First of all-sorry for being one of those people who post a question on thier first post.
I've been happily using TEAMHACKSUNG's ICS Build 15 for a couple of months with zero problem.
Restarted the phone a few hours ago in Recovery mode and cleared Cache+Dlavik Cache and after that, the phone couldn't boot. The Samsung screen shows first, then the CYANOGEN MOD screen, and Smasung again..in a loop.
Tried getting to Recovery mode, and nothing...same problem..
Download mode worked.
Please help me fix this situation. Hopfully without a full system wipe...\=
Thanks in advance! [=

I've flashed the stock CM7 Kernel and know I can get to recovery.
unfortunately, I don't have the rom's zip file on the internal card to flash it. I've managed to put the rom on the external sd card, but as it seems, there is no way to flash it through the external card.
I did a backup of my system thru CWM [don't have another one]. Thought of maybe flashing stock GB in odin, then CM7, then Teamhacksung's build 15, and then restore the backup I've just did.
Will it work or maybe there's a better idea?
Thanks!

I've flashed CM9 build 15 through all the instructions, with a couple of wipes in between...
Then, restored the nandroid backup and when all done-a weird colorful stripes appeared and nothing. So I installed Build 15 again and the phone booted!
Only problem now is for some reason, Messages aren't working, aswell as Facebook. And all my contacts gone [not a problem, but still-they were supposed to restore after the nandroid..]
Did I do something wrong? Can I fix the messages problem somehow?
Thanks in advance!

Dude, download it http://ics.samsung-updates.com/trouble/FixRecovery.tar.md5 and flash it via odin at PDA , than go to recovery snd flash kernel again. And remember if u making a wipe at ics base rom, flash again kernel, its normal..

Hi guys,
I just need some short advise:
My dad flashed CM10 nightly a few days ago.
Before that he had a stock froyo rom (i don't know which version exactly) but with root and CWM.
Flashing CM10 worked but he had same bugs (baseband deleted, reboots every 10 minutes), so he flashed CM9 stable hopeing to get these things right. but it didn't, baseband was still gone. So he decided to restore his nandroid backup and go back to his froyo stock.
but that ended in a total disaster and the phone won't boot anymore. it is stuck at the white "Galaxy S" screen (before boot animation).
My dad said, that he tried to restore his backup a 2nd time. but he got many errors including "unknown volume for path /data"
He is a little bit frightened that he could brick his phone completely so he asked me for help.
Well, I don't know what to do besides flashing a stock gingerbread rom + kernel +baseband/modem with Odin.
Am I right with this? Or do you guys got some other advise for me.
thanks for help
try factory reset must done after restore
are you sure?
shouldn'd this be done before restore?
by doing a wipe, I would need to do 2 restors in order to keep my apps..
As the partition layout of CyanogenMod and stock are different, and thus stock partition layout is needed, you have to flash stock using Odin with pit512 and partition enabled. After that restore should work as well.
Besides: If baseband is missing in CM, try to flash a CM modem.

Galaxy S I9000 won't boot after cm10
Hi
Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I've searched, but have no phone now, it won't boot after installing CM10 28/12/2012. It was running, but I wanted to do a nand restore, it said it couldn't find the backup.
It now won't boot, it's stuck on the original Galaxy S GT-I9000 boot screen
This is really urgent (I know... like everything else)... can anyone help me PLEASE??
Thanks

You should use a wipe stock ROM when flashing through Odin.
Since struck at logo, battery may be ok, nevertheless as a blind shot, why don't you try with another battery.

after installing the ICS rom, install a safe kernel and do a factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik.
dont you have any nandroid backups?
i have this problem b4
try flash safe kernel (example hydracore), reboot
then go to download mode flash any type of ROM
and do a factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik

having the same issue right now.. i rooted my stock rom, and used speedmod 15 version. This morning the screen started flickering and occasional power offs. Then the battery reading was incorrect - first 60%, then it went to 65%. After a restart it went to 12% after which I just recharged the phone as usual. No problems until this evening again it went bad and couldn't restart. I can however restart in CWM recovery and luckily have a NAND backup and Titanium backup of everything that is important to me.
I also managed to recover the /sdcard partition with adb pull command. Right now the phone will not boot past the startup animation. I already tried CM 10.1 31.12 nightly and also 9.1 stable, and have the exact same issue.
Anyone know how to fix this except for wiping? Because I already wiped everything while trying the CM builds.
First check if the battery is good. Also try a different battery.
Also this time installing the rom, try in cwm, mounts & storage, format/system, format/data, format/cache and then flash the rom

just a quick update, I ran in recovery mode and did an fsck on the 9 and 10 partitions, i got a lot errors that got "fixed" by fsck. After that I just reflashed the CM10.1 nightly and it made it past the boot screen. Not for long though. After restarting it didn't get past the boot screen again.
I gave up yesterday night and just started downloading the latest official GB. This morning I flashed it with odin and it kind of worked, until i got force closes in the wifi settings step of the setup wizard.
Now it boots into android but doesn't get past the wizard screen. I will try flashing the GB rom once more through odin, maybe that fixes some things.
any other suggestions? If it is the battery, would it make any difference if it was plugged into the wall charger while starting the phone?
---------- Post added at 12:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:03 PM ----------
another update: I did a factory reset on the GB rom and am using it while connected to the wall charger. It seems to be working OK like this. So I guess I need to find a battery and try to restore my apps and settings
Another update, I ordered a brand new genuine battery and now it seems to work stable again. I just used it as a mp3 player and to surf for a few hours and no instability issues anymore, boots up perfectly.
Original battery was dated november 2011. The new one (also genuine samsung) is from october 2012 I believe.
I was on an ICS based MIUI, when I tried a stock JB ROM (Angry v3).
I have been pretty wary of the EMMC bug, hence I first installed a stock GB ROM and then rooted it through the zergrush method guide Dr Ketan has posted.
Post which I installed the JB ROM, all went well the phone was working for the night. However in the morning at work the phone froze and restarted and was stuck on the Samsung screen (not the boot logo). I did not want to try anything so I got home, the phone was booting in the download mode, so I tried installing the stock GB ROM again through ODIN. All went fine, I got the pass screen on ODIN and the phone rebooted but stuck again at Samsung screen.
Now I cannot even enter the recovery mode, So I am stuck with a paperweight ?
Try connecting the charger. Battery could be dead empty. And this is not Q & A Forum.

Battery was at 80% last checked. Will have the thread moved, and try charging the phone too.
By the way, if thou are on gingerbread firmware; it's safe to factory reset.
first switch off your phone then press the home+voluke up+power button in combination then you can bootup into the stock gb recovery from their format everything(presumed that you are on gb) and please dont post question in general thread..reported

Hmm, I tried installing another version of stock GB ROM through ODIN, was successful. I was able to to load into recovery, a wipe data and wipe cache allowed me to boot the GB ROm Am downloading the JB Jellybam ROM. A last question, should I be wary of stock leaked versions of JB? I quite liked TW

Its pretty safe as there are lots of roms using Leaked TW JB and has safe kernel Philz. till the time you are on a safe kernel.. nothing to worry about..
hi,
im using cm10.1 rom (stunner 2) and everything was going well when suddenly the phone restarts and got stuck at the boot screen, i wiped and installed the rom once more everything went well when after a month or so the same thing happends again and today was the third time ...
i took a nandroid backup and will install a new rom, but i just want to know what is happening ? does this has anything to do with soft bricking or anything ?
this time try downloading a fresh copy of the rom and install again..
Are you using up to date ROM if not download updated one and flash its most likely his kernel tweaks which should be better now on new builds
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium HD app
i was using latest rom, the same rom and kernel are on a friend's note and this problem did not happen with him.
this time i downloaded the P.A.C true all in 1 rom, wiped data/factory reset, format system then installed the rom
everything is ok until now but I'll wait and see if this happens again with this rom or not
