I'm from Germany and i get also 10D.
I just talked in support Chat to an emploee. He said Gingerbread will "maybe released within the next days". The reason for the maybe is: they don't know when the Update is copied to Servers. Wtf?
I will only believe that the Gingerbread-Update is ready, when my phone says Version-Info: 2.3.X...
Meanwhile I have to use my eee Pad for waking me up for sure.

What idiots! Sorry guys, all the stupid service center people told me there was an update and after phoning up the service center closest to me, they said the update is available for the P500, not the 2x. Grr. Even after specifying "Optimus 2x P990" they said yes.

The only thing that I expect for Gingerbread is CM7 continue to upload nightlies........

Just got message from LG support team in Poland and they said "as for this moment the update is planed for the end of September" (though they didn't specify the year).

I was on chat with them today, they think it's gonna be availible by the end of september in UK. I live in bosnia, that's plus 5 years so I can expect it in september 2016. Is there any way i can install UK update on this phone. It is rooted.

I am in Switzerland, rooted phone, V10e version and I got an OTA update which is 9.02MB large. Any ideas anyone? Will I lose root if I update?

yes you will lose root but it take 2 sec to root again

Same for me.
I heard LG mobile Dpt is about to close. Good!! This way I would never be tempted again to buy their phones.
Now I just need to figure out how to root/flash my phone and switch to Miui/Cm.

This is what LG Email customer service department says, though now I wonder if it's just bollocks.

Is there any way you can get the Oficial Firmware download (KDZ probably) or a system dump? (nandroid backup if you can install Clockworkmod recovery, which can be harmful if not compatible).

We all feel your pain mate
To make it worse the stupid LGUpdate Tool keeps poping update requests only to hang half way trough saying update is not possible due to fatal error.

Heh. The thing is that you have to install Clockworkmod recovery, which may not be compatible with the Marquee and brick it. So I won't tell you to do it since I can't tell if you will have the phone safe...

Same as antonio1475, first you must root your phone, install ClockWorkMod, and make nandroid backup. Then upload and share the nandroid to us.. BUT, I'm also NOT suggesting you to do it, since you must have experience with hacking the phone, also your warranty will be void. So we don't want that risk and take responsible for it...
CMIIW.

Just echoing the question of if we can root the Sprint version or not. My EVO is having some hardware issues and I've been wanting to downsize a bit since I got the Asus EEEpad...don't really need that much screen on the phone anymore and would like to benefit from the slimmer design of the marquee. But, I need root for tethering since I travel a lot and not always sure where the next hotspot will be.
TIA for the first to take the plunge and report back to the community!

There isn't any known way to unpack the kdz file at the moment, and flashing it on a p970 might completely brick it so I'm pretty sure nobody has a spare phone to throw away by flashing an incorrect firmware on it

If only the radio is different, knzo told me that it would probably boot (theoretically speaking of course, anything can happen), just radio wouldn't work. If so, a nandroid backup can be done and maybe the radio changed (I have no freaking idea so can't tell if this radio thing can be actually done).
However, I consider that if LG releases official 2.3 for Black in some days as finally expected so far (yes, we know, they can and will move the dates as they want), it's not worth it. I will just wait.
Advice: get something to do, some task, and you will forget that you "need" Gingerbread now, as I have done as soon as I started university weeks ago.

Needs IMEI for a Marquee... Can download if any marquee user would PM their IMEI. I'd like to test it and make a nandroid. Putting any Optimus Black IMEI obviously will give you a link with your native firmware (V10D, V10E etc.)
Or just the link after putting the IMEI. It gave me something like this.

If any Marquee user can visit the link, type their IMEI, and give us the link result would be appreciated.

Simple to do is dial *#06# and you'll get IMEI.

i heard somethihg about that ICS have to be the meddle betwin tablets OS and phone. so it have fully support Tegra2 system. so maybe LG will be so kind and will give us official ICS

maybe someone mail cmahendra and ask him how to download the rom. or someone from france try to update his phone.

The egg and the hen... who can mirror what can't be downloaded..? I'll try update my phone as I'm french but I dont think it'll work... if LG does not permit downloads I don't think they'll release yet via updater...

LG"s probably embarrassed at releasing ICS update at near the end of Q4, hence they blocked the downloads #randomjoke

Yeah same, a username and password is required, but if there are testers who are not under the confidentiality agreement they may leak. Just daydreaming =.=

have been all my O2X life, the european FROYO GB and ICS (now )ROMs and I havent faced any issues. Infact I have always used european Basebands and found better reception.
so, I dont foresee any such issues.
Experts and seniors can comment please

Yes it is officialy released, yes it has a locked bootloader and yes you need to root it.
That's why i didn't upgrade yet, want to see what RC will do for CM10, will he decide to use the old bootloader or the new.
The problem here is RC only uses what is officialy released, i think that only if the new bootloader is unlocked by LG, he will use the new BL.

Yes, the V20S/q passed the same, at the end all the ROM were the same, with some other exception
